This is where people don't understand the difference in wrestling or grappling. Khabib is no where near the best wrestler. His take down accuracy is not even that good. He drags guys down against the fence. That's more grappling than it is wrestling. If you want to know who the best wrestler in MMA is look at the one that has the best take down accuracy

@@rcstockton Stipe was getting hit with some shots by Francis. If that was a stand up only fight Stipe would not have made it out of that fight without getting KO'd. Stipe got rocked a decent amount of times in that fight. If that fight stayed on the feet he would not have stood a chance. Stipe does get the credit he deserves. He's widely believed to be 1 of the best if not the best heavyweight of all time. I believe even Chael said he was the greatest in 1 of his videos do to the amount of title defenses he had. But in terms of MMA boxing he's not 1 of the greatest.
He might be on the list for being 1 of the greatest boxers outside of MMA under boxing rules, but not in the octagon. He did KO Cormier but he also got KOd by cormier too who is not a great striker.

But having said that, I have absolutely *zero* idea how one can intelligently think France's boxing isn't technical. His timing, set ups and placement are brilliant (as he showed against Overeem). Sometimes he rushes forward without much thought to technique, but that's just because he knows he can. He's a great boxer when he wants to be.

Nate isn't a technical boxer at all. His hooks are almost always slapping.
It makes sense, while stipe may be a technically better boxer than Francis, if he chose to stand the whole time without takedowns there's a big chance he would eventually get slept by one punch before the accumulation of punches stipe lands on him gets too much
Same with wilder and other boxers who are fundamentally better than him, he was getting outboxed both fights by Ortiz before getting the ko

What about Dustin? He has one of the best technical boxing in MMA. He knocked out gaedjhe and beat the hell out of max Holloway. Max is not a technical boxer by any means. He uses volume punches but not technical like Conor and Dustin.

The reason he looked world class in recent years is because he fought aldo and Edgar who are both past their prime and ortega is grappler but right now the sport has evolved so there are many guys who are technically better boxers but are not well known yet like for eg calvin kattar

Masvidal is pretty good with boxing too, mainly because he’s so aggressive he can find weaknesses in opponents’ stand up. Darren till definitely had boxing training, like any good English fighter, but he was pretty unathletic with mediocre punch volume, footwork, and posture. Masvidal saw the weaknesses and closed the distance.
Reach is an advantage in boxing just like height is an advantage in basketball. You don’t need it but it helps.
Petr Yan is a boxer fighting in MMA. This dude is a striking monster and is probably the most technical boxer I have ever seen In MMA, kinda suprised no one had mentioned him.

It was a competitive and even fight throughout. Dustin probably landed the bigger shots in round 3 but he still lost it. Round 1-2 was Dustin controlling but on from there it was VERY even, confused how you can be denying this?
