Delmorino DM100 Side Discharge Potato Digger

This is the digger in action at its best, filmed on 8/30/19. Our rate of harvest this year was about 3 times faster than the previous year, before getting the machine. It helps to drive as slow as possible (a creeper gear would be ideal - I have to stop and start regularly because this tractor doesn't go slow enough) with the engine revved as high as possible (for the PTO to 'shake' the implement the fastest). Debris in the field jams the machine up, especially dead potato vines - I've had the best luck waiting a few weeks for the vines to not just die but start to decompose. In this video we actually went through and pulled excess vines out of the field prior to using the digger. I travel about 250 ft in the course of the video. These machines are available from Woodward Crossings (woodwardcrossi...) in Pennsylvania.

A very good harvester, but your going to fast in your tractor. You might need a lower half geared gear box.

Are you sure you need to run the engine so fast? Experiment with half throttle and see what it does with the crop, even that may be more than enough. It may save you buying another tractor too.

No, a few potatoes will get cut and damaged by the coulters but that's about it
