The minuteman 3 is relatively new and up to date with its technological build, it is due to be replaced by Sentinel in 2029 The Abrams is a 70's tank but there are about 14 variations of it with the SEP3 having modern systems in it including APS. The F15 is a 60's air supremacy fighter but the new F15 EX is a modern system which uses the most modern weapon systems and electronic warfare. The F16C's Ukraine got are old Block 30's and they absolutely owned the Russian SU35, the F16D Block 60 or F16 I Block 52 is a 60's design that is better than anything Russia has, and it is not even close. A war between the US and Russia is a blood bath.
The only people I’m aware of that remain fearful of nuclear conflict are the casual observers who aren’t really paying attention anyway. So long as our media does not assist the Kremlin through their own sensationalising of stories, then I’d hope it is accepted by mostly intelligent minds that it’s all projection and bluff.
IS NOT. The neutron source decays, having short half life and every so many years the warhead must be dismantled, new source inserted.... All in all a LOT of work and money. IF you don't do this , even if you can deliver the warhead, you will get a firecracker and some contamination, while the US warheads WILL work. And Russian KNOW this.

There's a lot of military aircraft still in service with the US that don't have glass cockpits or are still in the queue to be upgraded, and in the UK and many other NATO forces the situation is likely the same. Just because something appears old or outdated, it does not mean that it is not functional or effective. Would De Bretton Gordon play around with and treat WWI UXO with contempt? If someone loaded a flintlock musket and pointed it at him and fired, would he be able to laugh it off and walk away? Russia's tactics, training and equipment may all very well be substandard, but when you're on the receiving end of it, it is a serious matter.
Absolutely agree, there are plenty of functioning old analogue military & civil systems still in use around the world. Many wars have been about fielding numbers, not advanced technology, for a self proposed "expert" I found this very misleading. NASA got to the moon on analogue systems, in fact wire "rope" was the core of the computer systems on board.
@sethsalberg3678 'Not configured' to carry nukes is intriguing. I suspect many models of coalition military aircraft are readily capable of carrying and deploying nuclear weapons, even aircraft such as the P-8. If the need arises, the weapons will be adapted to the hardpoints or racks quickly.
As someone working in aviation, I can say that there’s no such thing as an “old aircraft.” If it’s in good condition, especially a bomber, which doesn’t require exceptional maneuverability, then even if it’s 50 years old, it will remain just as effective and reliable with proper maintenance
This former flyer in the VietNam war agrees. In 1968 he was flying L/19s/O1E-O1G Birddogs. My A/C was made in 1948. The BirdDog was the first all metal A/C ordered after WW02. The L/19s are still in service in 2024 with other USA allies

Lol, Russia launched as part of it's contribution to the ISS & even then NASA had to cover part of the launch costs. Those days are over by the way Roscosmos is toast they lost NASA, ESA & western commercial contracts due to the Ukraine war which were the only thing keeping Russia's space program afloat. As for Hypersonic's they're just Soviet era ballistic missiles repurposed to attack ground targets & they have been around since the 1960's. A poor mans hypersonic other world powers don't use them because they don't offer anything over supersonics yet cost 10X the price. Western supplied air defences in Ukraine have had no problem intercepting them Putin's wonder weapon is Kremlin propaganda. Real Hypersonics being developed by the West use exotic power sources & can hit hypersonic speeds at low atmosphere with no need to slow down they would be near impossible to stop.
@ZuulGatekeeper funny roscomos just launched nasa astronaut into space in September, so it would seem like the days of nasa relying mostly on Russia are far from over. Are you suggesting russia has had airlaunch hypersonic since the 60s because that would just suggest they are light years ahead of the us. And what is this exotic power source you speak of? So far, the only ones the us has developed are too large to mount to jets and have to be deployed from a b52 and still can't achieve half the speed of a Kinzhal. And you really believe Ukraine shot 1 down when they struggle with lotterying drones from Iran? Who shot it down the ghost of keiv?
@@deason2365 These are the last launches paid for by NASA it has not renewed the contract with Roscosmos & Russia has to honor them or it's own astronauts will be stuck on the ISS as Dragon is set to return them. As said Russia's hypersonics are just ballistic missiles capabilities developed during the Cold War but not used by other world powers simply because they offer nothing but time to target at the expense of detection & increased cost. The Kinzhal is simply an air-launched long range ballistic missile. Even it's short range Zircon missiles have fallen far short of Kremlin claims Ukraine’s Western supplied air defences have proven the ability to intercept entire volley's of them the missile’s alleged unstoppable super weapon myth is just Kremlin propaganda.

I'm not sure that being hit by an ancient nuclear weapon is in any way preferable to being hit by a brand new weapon.
I thought them nukes had a shelf life, kinda like most groceries. Leave em in the silos too long and all they go is pop instead of boom.
US B52s still have analog gauges, but I believe they aren't configured to carry nukes anymore.

It doesn't matter if the weapons are outdated. What matters is their effectiveness.
What matters is maintenance of these weapon systems.
Outdated actually means their effectiveness is depleted. Modern countermeasures will do that.
How effective is a 1960s car, truck, or aircraft that has had zero maintenance. And is in a wet hole in the ground? Even if it works it’s still 1960s performance or less.

Funny how most nasa missions today use Russian rockets, and the us and uk have yet to successfully develop hypersonics yet were supposed to believe their far behind us
Lol, Russia launched as part of it's contribution to the ISS & even then NASA had to cover part of the launch costs.
Also, I'd like to ask what ballistic rockets they were repurposed from exactly?
