    This absolutely legitimises any amount of reverb I will ever use when mixing a track.

    How do people suppose this was notated? Or was it developed off paper?

    • @dingleyandell
      @dingleyandell 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      it was developed off paper. The group developed it as a committee. Stayed in the same key and made sure the themes people recognised were in it.

      Poor John S. I think you have been traveling too much. It was the way they wanted to capture the performance as the audience and we heard it. I haven't heard the end credits music in a long while, but remember the ethereal sound of the vocals and orchestra (?) Very good. As a Videographer / Editor Soundrecordist / Engineer, I probably would have found away to add just a touch more direct sound to the recording, but then it wouldn't have been what the audience had seen and more importantly, Heard!

    I will really miss Emily singing with this group. They all add to the group. Heck, I miss Dingle also. I would not want to be the one to follow her steps, knowing you will be judged in comparison.

      Musical Lottie It would probably throw them off, because there could be an ever-so-slight delay. It's likely more helpful for them to have their ears free to listen to each other singing so they stay together.

    • @cynthiat6505
      @cynthiat6505 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The in ear monitors don’t allow the performers to hear nuances that you hear with both ears. I can’t use them.

    Expert singers, great Hans Zimmer music, so let's send everything through an insanely massive hall reverb. This is an example for aspiring sound mixers as to why just adding more reverb doesn't necessarily make it better. Didn't even have any audience reaction at the end, apart from what was picked up on their vocal mics. Poor quality video, and no context so didn't understand why young people were wandering around the stage during the performance. Dear VOCES8, can I suggest you remove this video from your channel, it's doing you no favours.

    • @SACWarrior70s
      @SACWarrior70s 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was a live recording... The Mix wasn't sent to a recorder directly. Mics picking up the room. The Mix is the Hall with 100's of bodies aborbing and deflecting along with the hall. Granted their was loss a few times of sounds of the melody, but the natural reverb of the room is the play for the film director/producer to capture this performance as it was sung, more importantly as it was heard. Too many people think a performance has to be direct wired/connected...As a musician, Videograoher / Photographer and Audio Enginer / recordist , the choices are not always yours. Either the composer/conductor or in this case as I read from some other entry, it was done by Voces8 committee. Not every singer is an arranger. That is a skill taught and learned by those that can hear not only their part but all the others individually and together. But their training & accomplishments shown, they all could have done so. I would have added a little more capture from any or all the microphones for a tad clarity, but remrmbering the sound track, to capture the melancholy feel of the song reflecting the loss of two lovers lives, devoted to eachother, is marvelously recreated in the performance. It sounded the same but different... I give it an A. NICE JOB EVERY ONE.
      Oh, wish the group would put better bio backgrounds on all singers on their website, since inception and where others have gone on to, once they collective decided where their sound is going. Sadly, some may leave as they persue their growth or musical direction as their voices age with experience and maturity. I wish I had my voice of thirty, but my strength now, with control in my twenties, but alas it is "retired" to the ages.... Good Luck all.
