I love this trick and i often do it myself on my trees. It is the easiest way to get rid of thick roots without simply cutting them off and risking the life of the plant. I like that you put that technique in an easy to understand video! Great work!

The root layering technique is very interesting! My usual go-to for solving bad nebari is just to ground layer it right above the rootbase. Works well when you don't have great radial patters like in this specimen.

Pseudocydonia Sinensis can also layer, so I think I can do the same work.
However, it may not be easy.
