Man it’s such an insane advantage to go second in your grouping. J-Rod going first twice in a row and hitting 64 home runs ends up counting for nothing. Wish it was a cumulative score across all rounds.

They need to get rid of the "waiting for the ball to land to throw the next pitch" rule. Both pitchers for Seager and Alonso were the only ones who somewhat followed it, the other guys were just rapid firing it in there. Just get rid of it completely.

Or enforce it harder because it's so hard to follow with where the balls are hit on television. The camera is literally following the ball hit in the air and then the pitcher throws another pitch and we can't tell where the 2nd ball is because the first ball hasn't landed and the camera is still on the first one. Enforce the rule harder because it's bad for TV and unfair for the players.

This is the first derby I ever saw. IMHO, having different pitchers ruins the whole competition, because the pitchers have a tremendous impact on the hitters. Rodriguez is obviously extremely impressive, esp. for a rookie, but his pitcher was lightyears better than all the others. Not only did he throw pitch after pitch into the sweet spot for HR's, but every pitch was looped, with a downward trajectory as it crossed home plate, so that JR could swing up on every pitch and the ball would have to be a fly ball. He also threw like clockwork, so JR could time his swings perfectly. By contrast, Alonso's was all over the place. Likewise, Cory Seager's father took 5 seconds bet. each pitch and rarely threw them up and in, so that he could swing for the short RF fence.

If you start treating this exhibition as a serious competition alot of these guys won't participate. Not everyone takes it as serious as Pete Alonso.

Aron judge is the best homerun hitter,
He crushed the competition in 2017.
He crushed a 513 foot homerun in Miami,
That's the longest in my opinion,
Because Soto's 520 was in coors field,
    He refuses to compete again,
Because he claims, it messes his swing,

Pujols' legend would be greater had he retired round about 2012.

Sold my Pujols Bowman Chrome auto rookie/500 back in 2002 when he was a rookie. If i wouldve kept it, it's worth about $4k in a psa9. 😪

Thanks for all the add's MLB; love all the interruptions. It's like you said to yourselves, baseball is already incredibly slow, we don't want people thinking that watching the HR derby on youtube could be anything different

Derby was amazing…. I just didn’t like the side by side screen of the batter and the ball going out. It’s better with the full screen batter hits then see where the ball lands. And Chris Berman was missing to lol 😂 “ Back Back Back Back Gone” classic!!!!!!

They really need to find a better camera angle and not continually tracking two dozen balls going up and down.

Looks like the Southern California heated melted the ice under the Polar Bear's penguin stompers.
Now who's gong to be the team who gives away the store for Soto? There can only be a handful of teams involved.

The time is a good system but the head to head matchups are not. Your bracket and whether or not you're first or second plays a huge roll. Julio way outperformed Soto, but because of the factors I mentioned, Soto won.
