    Goulash in Serbia can be made from just about any meet you can think of, but it definitely shouldn't contain no kidneys or liver whatsoever, maybe the restaurant that you were in is cutting some corners. Recipe for serbian goulash is quite simple, meat (any kind you like) and onions, proportion is 1:1, water, oil, add salt to your liking and thats it. The longer you cook it, the better it is, minimum of 2-3 hours

    Serbian goulash is with beef steak chops, i don't know what you have been googed but i am 100% sure that was typical cooked beef steak chops. And yes, you can taste liver on grill also in Serbia, yes, it is low quality meat but at some places is so good also.
    Love from Serbia 🇷🇸❤️

    Wait a minute! That place actually still has the goulash in bread!!!?? Omg, i haven't had it in years and i was sure the place closed during or after covid.
    Also, the goulash definitely doesn't have any liver, hearts or other similar stuff in it. Here it's always made from regular meat, whether beef or pork

    From the look you ate "sarajevski cevapi". You should tried also "Banjalucki cevapi". Its similar but meat have different flavor and I prefer it.
    Also for good cevapi you don't need anything else except onion with it. Its perfect like that. And if its done correctly "bread" have more flavors then even meat.

    Very nice video, as a french born I live in Serbia since 2020, but I have also Serbian origins and huge house with more than 1800 m2 in total spaces in a small location, very lovely... food in Serbia is really good for a reasonable price, and if you eat outside Belgrade it's generally up to 2x cheaper for sometimes even a better quality. I paid 190 euros for 7 few days ago in restaurant on the Danube, northern of Belgrade, few km, Dunavska Terasa in Banovci... And yesterday 40 euros for 3 in Nis an old restaurant (Nisljiska Mehana) with even better food, and few days ago 30 euros for 2 in Svilajnac in a restaurant named Grand, so the price can vary from 13 to 30 euros per person for very similar food, and huge portions, we generally eat more than traditionnal french people lol, price depends of location, in Center of Belgrade and Zemun it's generally 30-50% and sometimes much more. Jagodina a medium sozed Serbian city is much cheeper, you literally can eat for less than 10 euros, and more you go to south, cheaper it will be. I hope you have a nice time in Bekgrade.

    Calling our food the best in the Europe is so cringe it hurts. Ik it can be hard coming up with a good title but cmon guys.
    That being said, the quality of the vlog is really good. You're charismatic, footage is clear, tempo is just right. If the yt travel channel market wasnt so saturated, you'd cruise to really good numbers.
    If I were you, I'd sit a good 5 hours in the most boring environment possible and try to come up with a unique selling point, cuz if you find it, you can really make lifechanging bank.
    perhaps visit really smaller cities, like 3 of them per video (achievable in 1 day) and gain viewers that way? or add interviews with the locals?
    Safe travels :)

    Ferdinand knedle are definitely a very original and delicious choice to have in Belgrade! The dough is actually potato, no flour in it. Plum is the genuine one.
    As to the goulash in Skadarlia, it was extremely popular in the past. It may be made of kidneys and liver, but it is the only place that I know where it is made so, therefore it is an original dish, a sort of specialty.
    Burek is a sort of fast food and there are a lot of variations of the same: more or less flaky, greasy, different sorts of cheese and dough/crusts. There is meat, and more modern variations (eg mushrooms) some of which are sweet.
    A very competitive and somewhat similar dish is pita.

    Second one was Bosnian food actually. Sarajevski cevap is kebab from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serbians have their version as well. The most popular is Leskovacki cevap, which means kebab from city of Leskovac in southern Serbia. You should try some food like sarma ( rolled sour cabbage with rice and minced meat ), pecenje ( roasted pork ), gibanica ( white cheese pie) etc. You can find all of this and much more in some restaurants with domestic kitchen, not fast food restaurants! • @faustinoasprilja
    @faustinoasprilja 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    That goulash was with kidneys and liver,no meat and it is not good,but always been very cheap.. As a cook,who worked many years in Belgrade and all over the world I can asure you that is not good meal or good representative of goulash. I work near that place,and everybody knows and they don't hide it that that goulash is made from kidneys and liver. It is not goulash,it is some kind of stew. Goulash is from Hungary and Serbians make its own version,which is better then hungarian. I work together with some great hungarians chefs on ships and they made us real hungarian goulash-grandmother recipe and style,and in serbian goes different ingredients and serbian is better,for sure. Hungarian is very similar to Beef Bourguignon,and serbian is simpler,but very effective in taste. Second,why you,from hundreds of nice cafes drink that bad quality coffee from a cardboard cup? Why?
    I also worked some short time,not even a full month in that bakery,Trpković,where you been. It was a shi.tty job,underpaid,and you work every day for 15 hours minimal,and you are paid for 8 hours,and the salary was around 250 dollars A MONTH and after 6 months they rise it to 450 dollars a month. Plus,you work in so crazy tempo,that you can't even imagine and nobody who didn't work that kind of jobs can not imagine that. They have always 5 girls upstairs who sell products,but only one guy downstairs,in basement,who bake all that products. And they have more than 255 kinds of products and it is just imposible for one man to prepare,garnish them and baked them. You had one short break,around 20 to 25 minutes, for that 15 to 18 hours of work,and from all products you have right to eat only cheese or meat burek,and you must measure it first,with witness to approve that and write it down in their notebook how many grams of burek you took and eated. You can't took as much as you want,of course,but around 300 grams max,that is the rule.Owner have 3 bakeries in Belgrade and earn a lots of money every day,but as a person,he is a slave owner. Also,for every tray of products you bake and it is not perfect(it not need to be burned,just not perfect)you pay for whole tray,and you pay in price they sell them. One tray of any product is more than your daily wage,so if not bake perfectly two trays,you pay double of your daily wage. Tempo and speed of work was crazy,always a line of people waiting outside and you can easily made so many mistakes and instead of earn money,you must pay them in the end of the day.

    • @faustinoasprilja
      @faustinoasprilja 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So,for example,you usually work for 16 hours really,really like crazy,running in crazy tempo without a second to scratch your head and they pay you less then 10 dollars a day for 8 hours,but you work double that time,so your wage is less then 5 dollars per day,because you work two days,two shifts in one day. No tips for you,barely they gave you some food and time to eat it. If you don't bake one tray perfectly,you pay at least 16
      to 30 dollars for that tray,because they charge you at selling prices. On tray that goes into oven ,for example have 8 products on it,every of that products costs cost 2 or 3 dollars upstairs,where they sell them ,at least 2 dollars per product or way more,so you pay minimaly 16 dollars.And your daily wage is 5 dollars. That is a famous a Trpković bakery for you and everybody else.

    • @faustinoasprilja
      @faustinoasprilja 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Plus,even baking alone,only by yourself all of that products is impossible,they gave you more work on side,side works. You must prepare things that are for chopping,like cheese and many more other ingredients and other side jobs too. Plus,you must wash with heavy chemicals all trays and pots that is used that day,and it is enormus number,around at least 150 and find out the way to dry them in ovens,and you need ovens for baking and time to wash them,so it is almost impossible. Plus,you have not just customers that wait in line,in the store,but you have a lot of orders for take out,for delivery,when many families have some kind of celebrations and order a lot of products for delivery at their homes. And all of that and some more I didnt mention for less then 5 dollars a day,with realistic possibility that you end up a day in minus,and lose at least 3 times money that you earned. And owner earns 5 dollars every 10 seconds by selling that products,and you make it happen for him and he give you 5 dollars per day. That is Serbia for you. Real Serbia.
