@@juampinarbondo Crabcore is a style of music referring to metalcore bands in the late 2000's with a specific sound, like this song. It's a reference to how they stand like crabs when they play guitar in Attack Attack's music video "Stick Sticky".
oh man, the song that started it all for me. I had no idea this kind of music existed when I was in middle school, then my friend recommended this and my life was never the same.
Im still listening to them and have been since this album, every once in awhile you need just normal rock and i think most bands become wha they are currently because of the toll this style of singing takes on your voice
This was the first song I ever heard from them and I was instantly hooked. I saw them live about 4 times and every single time they played this, it was incredible. I'd do anything to go back and experience those shows again. You should react to a few songs from their second album! Closure, breathless and to the stage are all bangers and have videos to go with them.
I love the metalcore music from AA, I also love the new stuff too. Been listening to them for years. I stopped listening to metal for about 4 years but AA is the only band I never stopped listening to. First favorite and still favorite
The video is not awesome. That's why no one reacts to it, because the video is too explicit and too disturbing. The song is great though. One of their best songs, imho.
I still listen to them to this day but you're right the older stuff is a hell of a lot better and the reason I listen to the new stuff is because I'm a dedicated fan from the original stuff! Lol And ill always love them no matter what they do because they helped form me to who i am today! But if you like this kind of sound youve got to check out.. Make Me Famous. Capture The Crown. Skarlett. And Of Mice & Men!
You should react to Danny Worsnop's "The Price of Beauty" by Suicide Silence. It was during Mitch Lucker's memorial concert and it's incredibly underrated. I know you checked out the one Phil Bozeman did, but this one is just as good and can be considered one of the best vocal performances of that show. Edit: Danny is Asking Alexandria's lead, if you didn't know already.
Three years belated, but very awesome and honest reaction. Bravo! Now.. as for the jumping back ten years to hear what you grew to love; I completely agree! That goes for most metalcore bands that started in that notorious early-mid 2000’s… The only theory that I have behind this is that they spend so much time touring, recording, etc the same earth shattering breakdowns, that at some point their vocals begin to deteriorate and they don’t have an option but to stop screaming in that pitch. Which ends up putting them into a whole different tiered genre. Like I said this is the only assumption I have! Again, very nice video!
My man, big fan of the channel, but it's been long enough. You need these on your channel. Infant Annihilator - Unholy Gravebirth or Blasphemian Spite - Kill or Be Killed Hunt the Dinosaur - Destructo Methwitch - Burn Victim Black Tongue - Parting Soliloquy Orbit Culture - North Star of Nija Amon Amarth - As Loke Falls Tallah - Overconfidence
Ah, memories. Saw them in NJ Starland Ballroom and this song was intense and I almost died twice loll. The techno part was so peaceful though and we were all boppin to it- then it was mayhem again.🤣💀
Im right there with you alot of the bands back then i do not listened to as much anymore because they have changed into something i can't bang my head to anymore.
Bro. You are right. WE ALL MISS THE OLD SCENE/METAL AND HOW THE IT USED TO BE. WE ALL CANT LISTEN TO THE SHIT THESE BANDS PUT OUT NOWADAYS, ITS TERRIBLE. Your observation is spot on and what all us scene kids now in our 20’s and 30’s are experiencing. It’s unfortunately just what had to happen. If these bands which made it to the tops of their genres didn’t conform to the norm overtime, they’ll eventually sink. So almost all the of them progressively become more pop. It really is a shame, rock was alive and well and now it is dying. I wish you could’ve been there with me at their show like 10 years when this first album released, I was just mesmerized it completely changed my whole outlook on music and I know it would’ve done the some for you. Since that day, “my heart beats in breakdowns”.
There's a behind the scenes video on how they made this video if you're interested in watching it. It actually came with their CD way back when. It's pretty great.
I still listen to them I’m also growing up and musical progress happens I think you just learn to like different tastes in music or you don’t and your stuck in one genre which I could never be
Hands down my 100% favorite song off their first album. I started listening to AA a little after their first single The Final Episode came out and I've been a HUGE fan since then. Their newer stuff is kinda eh to me. The last album that I really truly just loved was Reckless and Relentless..the album after that I loved maybe 6 songs but then the next few albums I loved maybe 3 songs. Definitely disappointing loving a band so much but watching them get softer and softer. Some people shit on me cause they say "bands evolve" which I get but their new stuff is not my cup of tea. I mean my daughter's middle name is Alexandria. That's how much I loved this band
A note on metalcore changing - you are not alone in your boat. Fans tend to lean harder as they get older, while artists tend to soften as they age. Fans get more acclimated to the harsher sound and appreciate what they are hearing more, while artists either don't want to be put in a box or physically cannot keep up the sound. (Danny from AA specifically did get a vocal injury while touring on their second album and it's been softer and softer ever since, but it seems like it was a mix of both reasons). Btw, Of Mice & Men may be an outlier with their new album.
They partied extremely hard during the first 3 albums and in the process Danny tore his vocal cords. Then he left the band after the 3rd album. They've softened their sound more and more over the years along with being all or mostly sober. Playing as hard as they had been was exhausting and it weared them down and they found it harder and harder to stay popular. The newer stuff is them trying to stick around and getting on the radio is a good way to do that.
Please react more to their old songs. The Final Episode Run Free Killing You Moving On The Black (with a different vocalist). Also react to their short film "Through Sin + Self Destruction" that consists of three music videos (three songs) from their second album "Reckless and Relentless". It shows the lifestyle they led at that time. Here's the link to it: th-cam.com/video/nlFMMvFhk_s/w-d-xo.html Every Asking Alexandria album reflects their lifestyle and what they were going through at that particular time period. Their personal thoughts and feelings are expressed in their songs. That is why if you listen to their albums in the chronological order (from first to last) you can really tell how their lifestyle has been changing and how they have been maturing over the years. Unfortunately that "maturing" means more and more boring songs with every album.
Fun fact bro, the reason they changed their music genre is because Danny tore his vocal chords while touring non stop back then and another reason in which Ben said in a video was that "it would bring back negative memories of Drugs & Alcohol." Also a little conflict which Danny and Ben had.
You should check out the album "The Black" from asking alexandria, their lead singer at the time Denis is the one you heard, having the more heaviness in this band, sadly he was only around for that one album but I think it's the best album Asking Alexandria has to date, absolutely phenomenal
their first two albums stand up and scream, reckless and relentless were bangers. their 3rd, From death to destiny was pretty damn good too but i dont really listen to the newest stuff
I’ve been listening to them since 2009. I’ll say it this way. They have been to my city something like 6 times in the last few years. Miss me with it. That’s how disappointing it is to move to what they have. In defense, Danny messed his voice up BAD and he left because he was a terrible alcoholic and drug user creating problems. The album Reckless and Relentless was written in the middle of that and it’s incredible. But the toll it took on them as a group? There was no recovering “that” group again after all that. I’d love to see you react to To The Stage. What an absolute incredible track that I feel doesn’t get enough comment. The whole thing is about that time period and about how addiction grabbed Danny during that time.
The rain is staged in the video. And metalcore around this time is priceless. You'd definitely dig We came as Romans or The Plot in You. I believe bands who go heavy get exhausted playing live and/or a great way to have a larger fan base.

August Burns Red is also another metalcore band to dive into. They are very versatile and the latest album has so great hits.
