Oh man, I was 19 when this cam out and fortunately I had close ties to them through mutual friends and was able to read Ishmael and understand at the time. Good shit man
@@Thornspyre81 yeah I grew up with Tim , great kid. I wasn't a hardcore kid so didn't appreciate this at the time as I should have. Looking back and with an understanding of the scene now this blows me away. Salute!

Under this bloodred sky I offer this tortured flesh To gods under your heavens My soul spent worthless Lay this life down Bring me divinity To answer crime with their lies Br ing forth the armies of grief Rancid breath of an angel disease Feed me tears of a martyr's last cry My flesh to your flesh to dust as we --- die In this world bombarded by bellows of madness I cling to the lonely chambers of my mind Scratching the surfaces Searching for some sanity Under this bloodred sky I offer this tortured flesh To gods under your heavens My soul spent worthless Bring me divinity To answer crime with their lies
nc was such a hotbed of good music in the early 2000s. undying, prayer for cleansing then turning into BTBAM, beloved, etc. i didn't know how good i had it growing up here lol. now id pay anything to go see prayer or undying again live
Don't forget From Here On, Glass Casket, Wretched, etc... So many amazing albums in so few years... and countless other bands influenced by that scene.
still remember literally the first time i heard this in my friends acura. he had an awesome booming system with 10"s in the trunk. at the 1st breakdown i got chills, still hits hard as fuck. some songs i listen to a few times before i really get into them. this first song hooked me hard...later i got to see them at a small vfw in 2001 i believe it was. amazing band.
Twelve Tribes is from Dayton. I am from around Dayton. I am admittedly jealous of you right now! I was born in 96. I was 4 years old when you were watching the band live.
so whaat yall think... Undying or Prayer for Cleansing? Both good bands but I like Undying way more, theyre old shit just sounds heavier and more raw to me.
@@happymonkeyfish Trevor did cite PFC and the rest of the NC metal scene as an early influence on BDM... soooo fuck yea. Been revisiting so many bands from this era since Trevor passed. Kicking myself for leaving so many good bands on the shelf in recent times.
Couldn't get laid to this in 99, still don't work in 2023. That's why I still rock it!
Undying, Prayer for Cleansing, Catharsis, Azazel, and Codeseven (plaing Division of Labor full album) playing a show in december 2022!!
this album, THIS ALBUM!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
20 years later and finally understand the message in this album in ways a 20 year old couldn't. Much respect! The fire burns forever!

Holy fuck, I heard the title track on some weird ass label sample disc in 99, haven't heard this in 22 years!! Still smacks

I love both but I like Prayer a little more... Criminally underrated band that helped define melodic metalcore

Make sure to listen to the original mix of PFC The Rain In Endless fall. It’s heavier.
