Who is doing what is demonstrated in the book, him or her? Further, what are her hand doing? I can't tell. At this point I give up on you folks. My search continues for someone who has some understanding of teaching someone who isn't already an expert.
Tim Stoehr Nicole is strumming the chords that are listed in the book, Aaron is doing other stuff. What both of us are doing follows with the book. Where you are at right now, just down strum and listen for when the chords change. When you have that, try singing along.
Tim Stoehr Hi Tim, for me this version gives the best of both worlds. The regular base shows tell me when to strum the 4 beats to a bar and the more complex playing shows us what the song can be. Before I started playing I listened to the song a couple of times closed my eyes and counted the base beats noting the chord change. Then I did the same reading the lyrics. At this stage I was familiar with where the notes fell and I found it much easier to get into the song. I haven't started singing yet. Next step. Shwey shwey It worked for me hope this helps.
SIMPLY FANTASTIC
Great banjo rolls on the Uke - and great all round - lovely stuff!
Awesome rendition. Watching you guys makes me want to find an upright bass player even more. Thanks. Elden.
Loved the performance
Nice work, thank you!
Great interpretation of this classic song.
Lovely!
A friend of mine just lost her mom tonight. So sad. Thanks for your beautiful rendition of this great old song.
Sorry for your friend's loss, 9 years later.
She got that good singing down.
