I love how marc still says there could be more rendering to do besides the piece looking finished. As an artist i have classes with once said, " the real challenge is when to stop and decide something is complete".
Same with me,but its important to know how to limit your satisfaction, bc artists including me work until satisfaction. Overworking can ruin ur piece so its imp to stop at a point and what u said is true
Coming back to this after practicing for another year is awesome. After learning more, I'm finding that this video is teaching me more than it did before. As they say: "The more you know, the more you realize you don't know."
Hey Marc, art school grad (sadly), I've been watching your videos regularly since last August and have been trying to improve since January by following your videos step by step, and I've seen more improvement in the last four months than in the previous four years. Thank you so much. Tu es le meilleur, mec !
Please do more of these, the full process really helps knit together a painting of my own knowing I can follow the basic principles frame by frame in my own time -also render stage 3 would be very cool to see ^^
Having a fun idea that's well executed is my favorite part of the render. We, as artists, see the problems with our work at the end... but we have to take a step back and look at it with fresh eyes. That's why I go through my old sketchbooks from time to time in awe at my past self. "Why did I think this looks bad, it's such a fun picture" "this mini comic is making me laugh out loud why didn't I post it?" Speaking of rendering... I gotta get back to my own stuff. I have a due date for my first comission thanks to your class and my ipad has probably recharged by now. Thank you for your hard work!
If I'm ever in a rut with art and feel disheartened, the music and the way Marc explains things just kickstarts my engines and makes me want to draw for hours. I love this!
I started my art journey this year and this channel is literally perfect from the livestreams you post, to the exact video guides I’ve been looking for, thank you
Beautiful, mystical, masterful! Even with solid art fundamentals it can be overwhelming to deconstruct everything that goes into completing a painting. And when my painting finally looks good as a thumbnail, I still zoom in and wonder "is it done?." That's why I watch that one ART School video on digital illustration over and over. I love seeing your full painting process!
Love it! Your process videos are a great addition to your classes, it's as if i'm seeing it all come together! Thank you for helping me on my art journey as always 🙏
This kind of content is awesome. I struggle massively when it comes to painting and rendering and seeing the process explained it really helps me have a direction when before it seemed like I was just throwing random brush strokes
A beautiful painting! This is THE process to follow. I always do this when I intend to do a full painting with a proper background. Never decide the colors over a white canvas, it will change the perception of colors. Blocking it out from large to small shapes, with a liberal use of lasso is very powerful.
P.S. (I hope it's OK to share another channel) - If you want to learn more about this painting approach, check out Marco Bucci's videos. He's also an outstanding teacher!
Painting! my prayers are answered! I'm actually glad this is made. I was just thinking about starting to divert from drawing to painting. looks amazing and the so little layers used. learned a lot in this one I'll give this one a go.
Marc you should do more of these ( when you have time of course lol ) it's always nice to see an artists process at work. Plus it's nice to learn some new things as well. Always looking for growth!
This video was big for me to watch! It's nice to put it on while I'm drawing--it feels like having an art jam! I'd love to see more videos like this--that you can draw along with!
this video! I needed to watch a pro doing this to feel safe to keep doing like this by myself! Was the first way I (intuitively) found and use to render a drawing. The fundamentals of painting is still there, but that approach I think fits me a lot better, I feel more comfortable doing like this! Thank you Brunet, you are great!
I'm OBSESSED with your videos and I've always wondered how you actually go on about a piece beginning to end, this is great to see! Hope for more in the future.
this was super interesting! I think a narration of the process with clear explanation of the design choices you make and how you choose to optimize the process (like you did here) is v useful, I'd love to see more such videos besides the usual tutorials and stuff
When you flame yourself at the end I just relate way too much. Marc the painting is breathtaking! Flaming it will bring tears to the Kingdom of Hyrule. And we don’t want that 😂❤ It is amazing please be proud of yourself 🫡
I love this, I've been trying to figure out a style that is less focused on lineart and this is gorgeous! I actually quite like the messier render style to a full polished look
This was so helpful! Getting a chance to observe the process and analyze for things I have been personally struggling with was equally as beneficial as a tutorial. Please do more videos like this!
I love this kind of workflow, especially 02:00. Ever since I tried rendering with environment light, I couldn't go back and now unable render a character in pure white BG. My brain got really confused
Everyone seems to be sinking hours into the new Zelda game. Which is understandable because it is quite an amazing game. Great job on another awesome class, Marc. Looking forward to the next one.
Love the painting process, would love to see a more about special-effects such as here with the sword and maybe something else.. always wanted to see how it's all done
I enrolled as a student at ART School recently. Once my equipment is there I'll get started with digital arts. Knowing the high quality of your YT videos I'm really excited to start the course! Hopefully I can come back to this comment in a year and say that I levelled up

Hi marc, just wanted to say thank you for all of the free content you have provided for us it's really helpful and you're a big inspiration for many of us. Much love from Norway! (love ur lineart brush thanks for importing it to CSP)

Love this process of painting, while starting with a value pass is useful. It loses some of the more painterly approach you get when sculpting color from the get go. You are a master Mister Marc. Also loved searching to see how many times you Hid your initials within the design itself. Clever
At time stamp time 1:33 your rough sketch was so pretty it took me a hard minute to agree with you that it was indeed a rough sketch lol. My rough sketches aren't so nice looking lol.
I kinda feel like the simplicity of the face compared to the complexity of the belt section naturally draws my eyes to the face. If the face is the goal then mission accomplished for me 😄👌😍
