I can't get over the $40-$50 subscription fees with these machines. Up to $3000 for the machine itself, plus a $50 per month subscription is insane. This is more than a gym membership would cost you. One big advantage of a home gym is to save money. They're charging for streaming content. There's no reason they can't charge the same as other streaming content providers. Netflix, Hulu, Apple Fitness, Spotify, Alo Yoga, all streaming content providers no more than $20 per month. These smart gym companies are greedy.
My gym membership is $140 per month for my wife and I. Now we don't have to waste 20 minutes in the car every day and can work out at 2am if we want, watch our own TV, have our own bathroom and not have to wait on equipment.
@@exploringcolorado720 This! Its a per machine account. And the up front cost of these is basically negligible in the long term. You get that back quickly, especially if you are thinking of getting something for your home, you are likely going to have to spend $1000 or more for a lot less. I bet the pay back on this machine is a few years at most, just based on cost. When you add value + costs, its probably within a year. Its not like you are just getting equipment. You are getting guided workouts and programs. Basically personal training. That is at least $50 per hour (usually much more) so if you did any personal training, the pay back on this would be within a year.
I am interested to see what the Forme Lift brings to the table as far as not using the subscription, the Tonal fails on this one point by removing the eccentric ability when you don't have the sub... Otherwise it would be perfect for my needs. If the Forme Lift functions like a normal functional trainer without the sub, I would gladly pay $3K+ for it.
6:50 Did I hear you right. It costs $2495 p/m? That is excessive. I don't know if you meant to say the machine cost that much and forgot to give the monthly subscription?
That was super-helpful for me, thank you so much for putting it together. It should have a lot more views. I’m thinking of dipping my toes into the smart home gym with the tempo move, which is actually around 400 bucks, at least over Black Friday Cyber Monday. You use your TV, it comes with less weights than the regular tempo. If anyone has any feedback on that, I’d love to hear it.
There’s another machine called the Speediance that is similar to the Tonal but it doesn’t require mounting to the wall. I really want the Speediance but it isn’t as aesthetic as the Tonal and it looks like a piece of equipment. I want it to go into my living room or dining room so it’s important to me that it looks good. Also right now Speediance is offering lifetime streaming service so no monthly charge like the Tonal.
Absolutely yes. Not just two members , as many as you have. For $50 per month your whole family can enjoy tonal as many hours as you want. And coaches are very good and motivate you to do the best job you can.
I ordered the Mirror for my wife. It was supposed to be delivered on 12/23. However, the Mirror never arrived, not even a courtesy call to inform me that it wasn't coming. And now the company is giving me the runaround with no delivery date scheduled as of yet. I think I made a mistake in buying this from a company with no track record.
Tonal is a rip off. They keep inflating their subscription should be free when spending 4200 on it. I would rather get Speediance its 2600 bucks and life time membership.
It is so sad that if you get Tonal and not want their subscription they turn off the eccentric part of the lift. If I wanted a unit without that eccentric part there are many way less expensive machines one could get. Subscriptions suck, that's all there is to it.
This is crazy how fast this world works i was just thinkn of tha yest. ! And it lists your record on a screen at the gym. Imagine hw cool wud that be, even better than the trainer , actually tracking your progress!

@@shureedawn7931 Hi. In short - Tempo Pros: Free weights work despite tech hiccups; Quality accessories; Work out anywhere. Both correct form. Tempo Cons: Re-racking light weights is time consuming; Must face the machine for classes; Reps stop counting when the trainer (not you) stops. Tonal Cons: Depends on working tech - long term uncertainty; Cheap accessories; Custom workout moves may not be listed/logged accurately. >>Note
Permanent mounting, required subscriptions, can't use it while traveling nor are you accustomed to traditional weight movements if you find a gym while traveling. I don't understand the appeal of being so locked into this kind of stuff
There’s nothing stopping us from recording some of our favourite workouts on a superset device and playing it back to ourselves while travelling is there ? This is my plan. Pre record a couple favourite classes I can do while in a hotel room
Makes Peloton look like blithering idiots. JaxJox looks really cool - so did Tempo - more of a free weight fan - but time under tension with some of these others are very good as well.
