Thank you for this video!!! I just replaced the sump pump in my basement & happened to see this. I had no idea basement sump pumps could cause radon issues or that the pit could be used to get rid of radon!!! Live & learn!!! I love the Hokie hat & live in Blacksburg!! I know radon can be an issue here but haven't really thought much about it since moving back here a couple years ago. I'm going to order some radon test kits now just to check & make sure there aren't any issues!! Fingers crossed there aren't!!

What about the top of the block walls.
Won't the weep holes drilled in the bottom of the block in the perimeter drain pull conditioned air from the top of block cells ???

    Hello,
Do you need to seal around the walls. I have the same thing. Thanks

Hi Kent, If presented the opportunity, I always do it. Nothing but upside. 😀

    How/what is radon emitted from?
I have a slight open gap under the lid and above.
What do you think it means if the discharge water is golden color? Rust or bacteria and how to clear it?
My sump pump is just touching the ground under the foundation, that’s bad? I’m thinking of putting a Home Depot bucket in there and drilling holes on the sides to reduce earthy substances.
