Most people commenting have little to no knowledge of what is actually true with adding Randle and offloading KAT. Knicks are 12-8 with KAT and 3-5 in clutch time, wolves are 9-10 with Randle and 6-7 in clutch time. If you look at the big picture, wolves were 14-6 without KAT last year and the year before when he was out for 50 games the wolves had the same win percentage with him as without him. It’s not necessarily the subtraction of KAT that is causing early season troubles, it’s getting used to playing with a new star in close games. You are seeing the same problems with Brunson and KAT in New York. They aren’t closing out games because it takes time to figure each other’s game out. There’s a reason it took kyrie and Luka half a season to start winning games. It’s not always linear when you add a new big time piece. Kings are awful right now in clutch time with one of the best clutch players in the league in derozan. Kings aren’t a horrible team, but they are 5-8 in clutch games. It will take some time for them to figure out how to close games.
"I was told" Chris Finch is the best minnesota coach of all time....he has the presence of a dead fish and holds no one accountable. Good greatest of all time declaration...😂
I have said it before and i will say it again Jaden is NOT a 3 point shooter they need to let him play at the mid range all his great offensive games are all from mid to close range.
I think its the lack of flexibility, not leadership. Nobody wants to change the way they play, or are struggling to change to fit what the team needs. We all forget that when Rudy was signed, KAT was watching film to see how Rudy liked to play so that he could mold his playstyle. Nobody wants to lay down on the line to win. Without Kyle, we lost the direction of a court commander, and without KAT we have lost the ability to play team ball. Rob needs to play because he's seemingly the only one out there that has any offball movement.
Tim Connelly messed up by letting Rudy play in the Olympics! France went to the Gold medal game. He's playing like he did his first season w the Wolves. He played for France the summer before. He is tired
I always been skeptical of Finch from a couple years ago in the grizzlies series when the grizzlies went on like a 20-0 run & finch didn’t call a timeout 😂 I seen someone say this and I totally agree but why do we play Jayden McDaniels like he’s prime klay Thompson?
Kyle Anderson didn't have an issue making his teammates accountable, no issues telling a player to wake up! Doesnt help to that jayden and Randle aren't consistent and the ball sticks to much and wide open 3s aren't dropping and defense is soft, ok there's a lot of problems lol
I totally agree. But they knew how important Kat was for the team. They were just jealous cause they wanted Ant to take more shots per game, now Ant is taking more shots but losing.
Yeah, Randle is the easy answer. I also feel like it might be Rudy. He lacks the self awareness to realize he'll never be able to score down low. He's horrible, yet he calls for the ball a lot and clearly gets pissed when he doesn't get it. "Rudy, you can't catch the ball and unless you dunk you can't score" will not go over well with him.
Wolves vibes right now are: Time to start looking at trade offers for Julius Randle. He’s not buying into the team mentality, plays lazy defense, and part of why the KAT trade happened in the first place was to free cap space for the future. So, dump the weight now.
After the Lakers game, we are the 7th ranked defense. And 5 of the teams above us, have a defensive rating higher than our end of season rating from last season. There is definitely going to be regression from the teams ahead of us. Our current rating this season would of had us as the 2nd ranked defense in the league last season ahead of Celtics and behind ourselves. So our defense isn't all that bad. It just looks worse aesthetically. And overall, teams haven't shot all that poorly against us yet in the aggregate. Most of the time they have shot quite well.
Now that time has passed, it’s time to call into the question the competency of Tim Connelly. The Gobert trade stinks now, Jaden’s contract is very quickly becoming one of the worst in the entire league, and the KAT trade seems like a colossal failure. We gave up another future pick to draft a guy that the coach won’t play, and I bet Julius will pick his player option, which is a problem because his involvement with the Wolves has been 95% putrid. If Connelly doesn’t come back next year, he’ll be leaving this franchise in flames.
I find it hilarious how so many people are saying start Naz over Julius. Not gonna happen. Julius is a 3 time all star who is in his prime right now. Imagine telling a multiple time all star we're going to have you come off the bench because you just don't fit well with the starters. I mean team chemistry is at an all time low so might as well destroy it completely while the season is still early right?
He’s trash in OUR system. You can’t force chemistry and that is what Naz has at the 4 with Ant, Mike, Jaden, and Rudy. I mean come on it’s not that difficult to see. It’s a shame because I see Naz walking and that will be devastating to this franchise. I think worst than the KAT trade. Anthony Edwards will request a trade if that happens. I don’t understand why they would not use what worked last season. I get needing to get rid of KAT but you have NAZ! Why risk losing Naz when he’s already showed and proved how well he fits at the 4 last season while KAT was out.
I feel like we’re just superboosting Dante’s trade value or attempting too. We see Dillingham is really good so we trade Dante before we give dillingham the minutes. I feel like that’s the strategy…

Towns will never be a part of a championship team. His defense is just THAT bad, and the Knicks will experience 'Playoff Karl' to their own peril. The Wolves will figure it out eventually, it's a long season and November just ended.
@@wileyschmitt The difference is that Wolves are playing the tough Western conference so eventually it might be to late for them to fix some things. Knicks are playing in a trash east they have so much more space for error.
Businesswise KAT had to go. The trade obviously didn’t work out short term. Long term it was necessary. Can Finch and Connley make the trade work in the second half of this year or next year? I trust them to make the best of it, but it doesn’t seem to be a “give it time” thing like the Rudy trade was. The western conference is so stacked this year a repeat of last year was unlikely to begin with but with this lineup it may be impossible. We have to trust the management that got us to the WCF last year.
Guess who we need offensively and Defensively to win? Karl Anthony Towns he is an MVP candidate in the Knicks 🤷♂️ Tim Connelley screw our Championship window and our team is destroy 💥
@Kat actually has helped them. They don't have a bench nor do they have another big that can produce anything besides himself. WE lost that trade. We're a game below .500 genius😂🤣
Jaden McDaniels puts his energy into defense and that’s why others don’t . Defense takes energy away from offense so if you don’t score it’s not showy enough and a defensive player gets no glory unless it’s the end of a game to be lucky to win the game. Let McDaniels play defense, Randle will only walk the court and shoot buckets, DeCenszo will score better, put Dilly in for 15 minutes minimum. Have NAZ play 25 minutes minimum, NAW should do at least 15 minutes, and we will win.
Again, KAT missed HALF the games the last two years, and didn't even travel on road trips when he was injured. That does not square with being a key locker room cog.
Not sure why you guys keep saying it was a set play for Julius Randle in the Toronto game. It was an offensive rebound and Randle got the ball with 9 seconds left on the clock. It wasn't a set play. Why do you keep imagining it was a set play off of a timeout with 21 seconds for Randle to isolate and score.
This is why I don't regularly follow MN sports anymore. Get so close to winning it all one year, and then just fall on your face the following year. So sick of it happening time and time again.
Did you see on Friday night after a late timeout when some of the players went for a timeout break and Julius just quickly walked out of there? Terrible vibes with that guy.
The trade pieces are killing us. Randall plays no defense and Donte cannot shoot. What is the story there? They don't play defense and now with the lack of energy Ant is just playing pissed off. Crazy bad team right now. Oh and the Clippers are a poor team, really lucky to win that one.
If Rob Dillingham had been in the 2021 nba draft, i would have taken him over Jalen Green. But for context i also would have taken Mobley, Wagner and Barnes over him as well.
Some guy blabbering on about Julius Randle all star Blah blah blah! Get rid of his ass he’s a drain on the chemistry of this team. Devinchenzo is no better than Naz so he can go also. I say go back to the bolts and nuts Before the trade replace Conley with Dillingham and search for true Towns replacement there are some great players on that African team in the Olympics that almost beat the US team. Finch could not coach anywhere else he’s to soft! Getting rid of KAT was A necessary and needed move it what they traded for, all the wolves needed was a strong power forward to balance KAT, that all they need and please stop pushing slow lost in space McDaniels, I think he contribute very little to this franchise!
I cant wait until all the people bashing KAT for his playoff performances lay their eyes on Julius Randle in the playoff if the Wolves even make it. Randle is terrible in the playoffs and he plays in the east. Randle was hurt last year and the Knicks were better without him. That is not true when KAT got hurt the last 2 years each time the team is can play through but better with him. KAT had a role that fit well with the team. Randle is a pain in the ass.
Fans have been saying play Rob the entire season and Skor North keeps telling fans to stop complaining and let Finch coach. Mackey is always trying to corner the market on talking points while no one else can bring anything up for more than 20 games. Guess what they are only at 19 games, have already lost 3 and 4 in a row which is more than their all of last regular season, they had 10 losses in November and they didnt lose their 10th game till January last year. Connelly will hide all season then opt out at the end of the season and if he needs a fall guy on his way out, it will be Chris Finch before Connelly leaves the team with no money, no picks, no coach, no GM, etc...
The more you listen to Mackey talk, you realize 99% of what he says comes out his ass. Just because you make content doesn't mean you have a clue in what you say.
Mackey stop explaining the KAT trade to everyone like they are stipid on every episode. You are talking about a team without Conley or Gobert whom dont align agewise with the plan at all. Replace them with Kat problem solved. No money left because you overpaid Jaden, you extended and continue to overpay Rudy and you extended Conley who everybody knew was deteriorating as a player during the playoffs last year. There's where your cap flexibility went along with Walker Kessler who was making 2 million bucks and the 4 picks they traded with him. Oddly enough almost the moment they traded for Gobert the value of 1st round picks skyrocketed in the eyes of teams and now even second round picks are valuable. Instead of ever admitting being wrong Mackey will gaslight fans until they either buy in or go absolutely insane from listening to his rationalization.

Phils takes on KAT have been and always will be TERRIBLE. Dude has no idea what hes talking about
Yeah, those Rockets, Memphis and Dallas series never happened......
1000%%%
The first round pick will become the biggest key to the trade
This is why I don't regularly follow MN sports anymore. Get so close to winning it all one year, and then just fall on your face the following year. So sick of it happening time and time again.
Did you see on Friday night after a late timeout when some of the players went for a timeout break and Julius just quickly walked out of there? Terrible vibes with that guy.
I'll double check my numbers, but I have the Wolves at 19.23% to make the playoffs. If they beat the Lakers, I have them at 19.24%.
Julius, DiVencenzo, and Jaden don't seem to be fitting in this season.
Gobert, Conley, ANT, NAW, NAZ, and Dillingham seem like they fit well together.
Finch takes a lot of blame in the problems the wolves are having right now
talk about how jaden has absolutely no bag!
Culture failings and being soft are real problems. Look at what OKC is doing with a good culture and toughness.
Lets go Wolves
It's about time you criticize Finch, he is completely overrated.
Trade Randle
He makes PERFECT sense. Sucks you aren't in-tune with this team. Go watch a different sport.......... bruh.
KAT will be 34 years old when Ant turns 27. They do not "line up" age-wise.
