This is a movie restoration of the once partly lost short silent movie, The Battle of the Century, starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The film is famous of the extensive use of pies, ranging somewhere between 3 000 - 10 000. The original film entered the public domain in the US in 2023.

Incredible restoration. Pie fights were common by then, and the story goes when this film.was being developed Stan Laurel said "Look if were going to make a pie picture let's make one to end all pie pictures," using the entire daily production of the L.A. Pie Co. Never tried again untill " The Great Race," which in the credits was dedicated to L&H.

Unfortunately, the scene where they bought the insurance policy still remains lost. Too bad they can’t find that in a warehouse somewhere.

Truly Amazing. Im a HUGE Laurel/Hardy fan. They are my Top comedy team. This work of art is fantastic. Talk about having their movie collection, and yet, this gem is viewed for the first time. Thank you for posting this Classic.
