- BAMBOO BEACH HOME BUILDING BEGINS!! At least... it will soon. But first we have to treat our bamboo!
Welcome to another day on our land here in Cateel, Davao Oriental. Life continues and we are progressing with getting our new place together. We have secured some big bamboo, and will be using it in the future for building. But a few of our friends here in Mindanao told us it is a good idea to treat the bamboo with ocean water.
And so that is what we are up to!
Mama Rose makes some awesome kitchen appearances, and all of us continue to work together here.
Life continues in Cateel, Davao Oriental!

Kyle is a man everyone admires
Not only he has a good heart positive disposition hardworking and most of all down to earth.
Luto is the noun form referring to the blister itself. Naluthan is past tense of the verb meaning that you blistered yourself walking across the river.
And the difference between luto (blister) and luto (to cook) is where the accent falls.
FINALLY I see MAMA ROSE the best chef and very industrious KUMAR, I see a lot of progress in your land. POWER ON!!!!

I'm so glad I finally got to go to Cateel last Sunday with my family!!It's a relaxing place..And we got to meet all you guys. though we didn't talk to you personally because you seem to be busy. Hopefully the next time we go there..Famous tourist spots will be open already..

*Luto* = n. "blister", v. "to blister"
*Luthan,* or more properly: *Lutohan* ( Luto + -han ) = "to cause blisters to"
The suffix -han or -an indicates that the action is done to the subject (as opposed to the subject doing the action).
It is confusing because there are multiple uses of the suffix -han or -an. But it differs in the stress. "ka-wat-AN" means "thief", "ka-WAT-an" means "to cause theft to", "ka-wat-an" means "the [continuing] action of thefts".
An easy way to tell is that this form of -han/-an is usually combined with the past prefix Na-. So Na + word + han/an, e.g. *Naluthan* = "got blistered"
Other examples:
Sunog = n. "fire", v. "to burn"
Sunogan = "to cause [something] to burn"
Nasunogan si Pedro = Pedro had something burned (i.e. Pedro's house was burned down).
Kaon = v. "to eat"
Kaonan = "to cause something to be eaten"
Nakaonan ang pan = The bread was eaten from (i.e. The bread had a bite taken out of it).
Also the difference between "Luto" ("blister") and "Lutô" ("to cook") is the glottal stop. Which is why you really need to learn it. LOL. It's the "hidden consonant" in Filipino words and can change the meaning drastically. It's the main reason you sound so slang. Haha.
If you don't know what a glottal stop is, try saying "uh-oh" in English. The pause at the middle is the glottal stop. Or say "You wot, mate?" in a London accent, the "silent t" in "wot" is a glottal stop.
In Indonesian and Malaysian, they write the glottal stop as an apostrophe in the middle of words or a "k" at the end of the words (e.g. "masak"). In Hawaiian, they use the backwards apostrophe (ʻ), the ʻokina (e.g. "Hawaiʻi"). In Filipino, it is rarely indicated in writing, so you need to listen.

We soak bamboo in salt water for several days to make it sturdier and termites free!
Luto could mean blister or cook depending on the accent. By just changing the accent, the meaning of the word could change.
Blister of your foot Kyle will be fast-healed by using malunggay juice. Squeeze some leaves in your palm until it produces natural juice. Press the juicy leaves to the blister with a bandage to your injured foot / or holding for awhile until it dries. Healing quick !!!

My wife just recently fixed Calavasa for the first time in a while. I had to ask her if I liked it and she said yes. Once she prepared it and I took my first bite, I immediately remembered how I loved it the first time I had it. It is now my "second"favorite Filipino dish next to Pork Adobo.
Kulas my wife does not sit down to watch your videos very often as I do but when she is back and forth in the house and sees you, Mama Rose, or anyone else cooking, on the TV, she stops and watches very intently to what you all are cooking and HOW you are cooking it.

Yes it does work treating bamboo with salt water makes it stronger. Our old house was made of bamboo and my grandfather soaked all the bamboos in salt for a week it lasted more rhan 30 years before we need to replace some of it. The older the bamboo than the better

when the bamboo is soaked in seawater it is like a termite treatment.... disadvantages if used as flooring in a house it absorbed moisture from air on rainy days... the glitter will be lost in floors even how much you apply wax....

TIPS: Use bamboo that’s 3-5 years old. You may also use borax treatment as alternative. Make sure to put holes in the middle so the salt water can get it. Dry it well. :)
