    There is no better time for me to watch your video than now. I have three evaluation accounts of the 300k accounts with APEX I started over the weekend, I caught very consistent good trades on a big move today and I am up 12k, 11k and 10k on the three account on day 1...….Crazy hun 😁. I knew I have to do it differently going forward to protect the accounts before I blow them all. I will surely take your advice and scale down on my contract sizes. Its been three years of trying, still have a long way to go....I will follow you to better refine my style of trading for the long haul.

    • @harmonytrader

      Aggressive is good. Controled aggression is even better. Scalping style works best with these Apex accounts. On the 300K accounts you got $7500 to work with so 5 to 10 contracts is about how much that account can handle. good luck and see you in the room.

    It's true most don't realize their capital isn't the account amount (50k or whatever). Their capital is the threshold amount. They should not be risking more than 1-3% of that threshold on any given trade until they are past the trailing stop point.

      The Trailing Drawdown follows your equity High. so IF you have $7500 risk capital and where up $2500 but you let the trade go back to breakeven. You just lost $2500 of your risk capital even thu you did not lose actual money. Now you have $5000 to work with. This type of threshold makes you more focused on scalping vs Swing Trading to manage this type of structure. Good advice on sizing. I've been trading for over 20 years and in the process of teaching a few individuals how to earn. Decided to use Apex for their funded account program. My initial position size is 2 e-minis for a 50,000 account.

    • @harmonytrader
      @harmonytrader  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      On 50K account 1-2 contracts is about as far as that account can handle. You can get additional flexiblity to your trading when you convert to micro. 10 to 20 micros can offer you the flexiblity to scale in and out and cut down on the noise of some of tradering signals. Emotional control is a bigger factor to Apex and trading in general but the added pressure in the trailing threshold means the trader need to be as close to equity high as possible. That lend it self to a scalping strategy . Targets of 10 to 20 pnt Nq and 2.5 to 5 point scalps in Es is what keeps you competitive in Apex accounts.

    I'm getting some stats that, about 6% traders pass these challenges and less than 1.5% make it to the payouts/keep their PAs for a reasonable amount of time. Not with APEX, in general with any prop firm. Let's say, if APEX has 30,000 traders, only about 400 traders making it to the payouts. On a 25k eval 3 micros would be the correct sizing right?

    • @harmonytrader
      @harmonytrader  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Example 3 micro with 17 point stop on Nq is a $100 that gives you 14 trades to make it work. You need closer to 25 trades, so adjust the contracts and stop to reflect 25 bets per account.

    • @Will_Ramb0
      @Will_Ramb0 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@harmonytrader thank you, I think it works on /ES, not sure about NQ since I only trade /ES. On 3 micros I would use a stop of 4 points so $60 loss per losing trade plus commissions a little under 25 trades. Maybe 23 losses in a row to blow my account. I passed the 25k eval in 4 days taking 10 micros per trade scalping 4 points but I didn't size down once I got my PA account & blew up in a week with revenge trading/overtrading. Not sure if I should take my time passing the Eval with proper sizing or trying to pass it quickly again. I'm waiting for a 80% discount but preferably a 90% discount to get 5 evals & trade them all simultaneously. I'm thinking it makes more sense to pass them with proper sizing since I risk losing more money if blow up having to reset all of them

      Follow whats on the Dashboard in your Apex login- on a 50K account you have an evaluation phase to accomplish 3K with 2500 risk and a threshold that can eat into that risk #. Once you pass the evaluation and pay your PA funding fee. You continue to have the threshold till you achieve $2600 in the account. At this point you qualify to withdraw $ out of the account. min $1000 per pay period and you get 2 pay periods per month.

      On your rithmic Dashboard check the Auto liquidation balance and deduct it from your current balance and that is the amount you can risk for the account. Traders need to allow themselves min 25 trades per account in order to operate effectively in the markets. Divide the Risk capital by 25 and that is how much you can expense each trade. Example. 50K account has $2500 stated risk so that makes it $100 per trade.

    I’m curious, if you’re trading say 10 contracts of /ES and your take profit is set at $500, it barely has to move in your favor to hit that $500 before possibly pulling back. Typically takes a few seconds, definitely within that same candle.
    Just knocking out 6 of those in a row would check the box for your 3k goal. Why not do that? Ie, set an OCO with $-200 and TP of $500 especially if it’s already moving in a certain direction.
    What am I missing? Obviously it can move in the opposite direction too but it’s not hard to figure out what’s happening in the next few seconds.

    • @harmonytrader

      You will be trading in the Noise with that tight of a stop and that many contracts. You will hit a lot more stops than profit. You better off reducing the size and giving yourself more room for the trade to work. This is a trade idea that sounds and look reasonable on paper. However, Once you apply it to a real market the dynamics of Price action will render it as a loosing strategy. Thank you for sharing your Ideas with us. keep it coming.
