I sell the triangles in my ETSY store, Sage Art. The scissors I am using are by Konig Sheren, Bought about 45 years ago and still working like new. I don't think the black ones are still available are there was a silver model which is as good but made of a heavier gauge metal, you might be able to find them with a little research. Thanks for watching.
@@Ceropegia I found the exact scissor in Austria, but unable to connect with the seller 😕. High gauge metal one is available in ebay but looks cheap and thin as compared to the black ones. Not sure whether they will run for long.

The triangle is a tool I make, you can get one in my ETSY store SageArt. The orange bar is set so you can make flaps for box covering by setting it at the edge of the small open space, or use the visual width of the bar to cut flaps. Thanks for watching.

Now the question... I want to double the shelve's thickness, would it be smart to cross grain the clipboards for strength... I'm thinking it might have less of a tendency to sag... Thank you... Ken
Hi i am really happy to learn from you sir and if its not too much can i ask the link where i could buy the covering materials you use?im from Philippines and thers no store that carry those product, thank you and hope you could help me too..god bless
You can order most of what you see me use from Talas online. they have tools, paper and book cloth. The plastic coated paper is Skivertex which also has a website, it may be more difficult to get as it is a commercial product. Thank you for watching, (You might try using local materials, there must be interesting fabrics in the Phillipines.)
***** I am assuming you are asking about the top edge of the box; once you make the miter cut and open the fabric you will see where the the cuts fall. You trim to the miter cut, the cover material has its own thickness and the cuts hardly ever fall flush with the box, when the cover material is glued and turned into place it all fits as it should.
I'm using Skivertex which may be difficult for you to obtain as it is a commercial covering material made for people doing large quantities. Any quality book cloth will work, I would recommend book cloth that is paper backed like Canapetta or the Asahi Japanese cloths that make beautiful boxes. My friend makes decorative wooden boxes and was wondering how to cut leather exactly to fit inside the lids. The boxes have a somewhat complex shape and he was wondering how to make a pattern of it to cut the leather insert to fit perfectly. Do you have any suggestions? The work you do is very high quality! Thanks for the vids.
Since the boxes have a complex shape, what I would do is take a piece of malleable paper, (oriental, tissue) cut a rough larger than the top and then press it into the top to be lined. Then press the paper into all of the edges of the inside of the box top, going up the sides/walls is not important, only the flat area of the top that is to be lined. Then, once the paper is removed, you have a pattern of what is essentially to be covered. I would then cut a thin cardboard to fit the space exactly, if the leather is thick it should be pared so that the cardboard can be covered and the leather wrapping around the edges of the liner cardboard. The cardboard may have to be trimmed a little to accommodate the thickness of the leather. I am assuming that the inside sides of the top are not to be covered, if they are, the walls should be covered first so that the leather fills/crosses the edge of the join. That way when the lining is inserted and glued into place there is a continuous effect of the leather lining. Not seeing the box, I can only guess at the problem and this is the way I would start for an odd shaped box. Good luck and thanks for watching.
I am trying to wrap a huge box and im having trouble with it.. i have a nail gun with stubs would this be the same way I can do it but staple? What kind of glue is this
I don't have enough information here. Is it a wooden box like a toy chest? what are you using to cover it? Since you ask about a nail gun I think this is more a project for an upholsterer. The glue is PVA, watch the featured video to find out more about it. If you have more questions, please ask. Thanks for watching

Velvet is a different material, the velvet should be paper backed unless you are making a padded box, then the work would be more like covering a chair. The difficulty is always at the seams/corners. Folding edges on the outside and tacking it down on the inside the box. Without folding the edges the velvet will always fray, velvet boxes like those for jewelry are almost always flocked. This "freehand" method is actually more difficult to do than just drawing out the die lines on a computer, then laying the printout over the materials and cutting them. That's how I would do it for prototyping at my factory, neat, precise, and complete. No guesswork, no bizarre master handicraft intuition needed, just using computer precisions to help out.

@@Ceropegia Hi, meant no disrespect at all. It's just that I couldn't bring myself to achieve the same level of sharpness as you do, so I had to rely on diecutting lines plotout, but this does comes at great advantage because of reproducibility. I simply roll the box on the table measuring the circumference and add a half inch or so, the width of the paper is twice the box height plus at least an inch to wrap around the bottom on the outside and cover part of the floor inside the box. If you watch my other box covering videos you should see me do that in those. This video was made after those earlier videos. Thanks for watching.
+Kristi Davis The width of the covering material is approximately 2 and a half times the height of the box when you are covering it like this with the insides matching the outside. ( If the box is really tall you don't need 2 and a half times the height, adding a generous inch will suffice). The length is the circumference of the box plus a half inch (7-10mm). If you are only covering the outside, you need a width of the height of the box plus about 1 inch (25mm). All of this is covered in my other box videos. This video was made to show another method of covering after the other box videos were made and I assumed viewers would have already seen the basic box videos. Thanks for watching!

The boxes have a somewhat complex shape and he was wondering how to make a pattern of it to cut the leather insert to fit perfectly. Do you have any suggestions? The work you do is very high quality! The cardboard may have to be trimmed a little to accommodate the thickness of the leather. How do you measure for the exact amount of material to use when covering a box?
+Kristi Davis The width of the covering material is approximately 2 and a half times the height of the box when you are covering it like this with the insides matching the outside. ( If the box is really tall you don't need 2 and a half times the height, adding a generous inch will suffice). The length is the circumference of the box plus a half inch (7-10mm). If you are only covering the outside, you need a width of the height of the box plus about 1 inch (25mm). All of this is covered in my other box videos. This video was made to show another method of covering after the other box videos were made and I assumed viewers would have already seen the basic box videos.
