First Time in Maine! Coastal Maine Road Trip to Belfast & Camden

Today we are taking a Coastal Maine Road Trip, starting our day in Freeport and heading up the coast of Maine to Bar Harbor, visiting all of the cute towns in between. Our first stop is in the town of Rockport, where we discovered a picturesque harbor and an Andre the Seal statue. Then we stopped in Camden, which served as the filming location for the town in the movie Casper, and also checked out the beautiful views from Camden Hills State Park. We continued on our Maine road trip, stopping next in Belfast, Maine, where we happened upon a local arts festival and had some phenomenal crab and lobster rolls right by the water. It was a lovely day exploring some adorable Maine towns and we are excited to continue our journey in Bar Harbor.

We picnicked at Rockport Harbor years ago. It was so nice. There were a few good spots that you missed: the foot bridge in Belfast is gorgeous, the bridge at Bucksport has an observatory up in the obelisk and there is Fort Knox at the base of the bridge. If you ever get back there, check them out.

Rte 1 is the only way to travel. York, Ogunquit, Wells all beautiful! Stop at Warren's Lobster House in Kittery, Maine on your way back just before the NH boarder.

If you're looking for a Lobster Roll in the Midcoast area you should try Claws in Rockland. It's every bit as good as Red's Eats in Wiscasset and although it usually does have a line it's not a long wait usually.
