Next time, mix the lemonade and the sweetened condensed milk together FIRST, then fold in the Cool Whip! You should always add Cool Whip last and FOLD it in. It doesn't lose it's volume that way and your pie will be fluffier!

Becky at the Hillbilly Kitchen, made a Kool-ade pie similar to this. Take any flavor of Kool-ade and , stir it into the sweetened condensed milk, and then fold in the cool whip. I made one using the orange Kool-ade and it was good. I’m all about recipes that only use 3 ingredients! Don’t apologize for not wearing makeup. You look great, with or without.
Yum! I love lemon too! This is an old-time recipe but it's 6 oz of lemonade, not 12 oz. So it's 1/2 of a 12 oz. can. It will be thicker and set up. One time my pastor's wife made it for a luncheon she didn't know it meant 6 oz. It was a flop and never set up even after being in the freezer. So next time you'll have to make two because they don't make 6 oz cans of lemonade anymore 😘. 🍋😋🍋

I love this pie! One trick I've learned to help the filling set up is to chill the sweetened condensed milk 30 minutes or so before mixing. This is a summer staple at our house!!

My mama has been making those lemon pies for as long as I can remember and I'm not a big fan of lemon stuff but I will eat a piece of this. I think the only difference is she just kinda folds the cool whip into the condensed milk/lemonade mixture. I'm almost positive she doesn't use any kind of mixer. Funny story (not the first part but the end)....my parents divorced when I was 5 (46 years ago). For several reasons it wasn't a friendly divorce. But as I got older, got married and had my son and my daddy got sober and changed many of his behaviors, they tolerated each other (and my daddy was nice to my step-daddy) when they had to because they now shared a grandchild and there would be times when they would have to be in the same place. So, one day I was going to eat lunch with my daddy and grandma and my mama asked me if I wanted to take one of the lemon pies she made (she always makes two) and I did. After that, any time I went over there for a holiday or occasion my daddy would say "ask your mama to make a lemon pie but don't tell her it's for me."😂 I didn't have to tell her because she already knew it was for him and it got to the point that she would say "I'll make lemon pies for you to take" without me even asking. 🍋🍋

Into a pot just about 4 or 5 I chest taller than the can and fill it with water and putting it on the stove and heating it til it just comes to a soft boil. Then turning it down to a slow simmer. And letting it simmer for about 3 to 3 and half hours. Take it out of the pit and placing it on the counter to let it completely cool. Then putting the delicious carmel into a tightly sealed plastic squeeze bottle and placing it on ice cream. Top a slice of cheese cake with it. I absolutely 💯 love carmel. That's my favorite sweet of all. My favorite Edward's pie is the TURTLE PIE. BUT I LOVE IT FROZEN. NOT THAWED OUT. I HAVEN'T TRIED THE EDWARDS LEMON PIE YET. I DON'T LIKE MERINGUE EITHER. SO I GUESS THATS WHY I HAVEN'T BOUGHT THAT ONE YET. MY STORE DIDN'T HAVE MY TURTLE PIES BACK DURING THE PANDEMIC. NOT MUCH ANYWAY. OR PEOPLE WERE BUYING THE HECK OUT OF THEM. ONE OR THE OTHER. It’s like a meringue you fold in, same with whipped cream. That cool whip has a lot of stabilizers in it, but it sure did make a difference.
