I might be on my 5th, but there are scenes I have watched over and over. The composition of every shot is amazing. The acting is about the best on television.
There are always new Easter eggs that you find planted along the way as you rewatch a great episodic series, and most especially with this show, just hints of detail that you couldn’t absorb the first or second time around, simply because there is so much depth and complexity to every single element of every scene. The music, the characters, the shooting location, the cinematography, the historical facts of the fiction, the mechanical engineering, the role of all of these different feds who work within the intelligence community, the European cities, the American cities, the text, the unwritten text, just all of it! So f’ing phenomenal!!!💜
This is such an incredible show. It was so artfully crafted, the cinematography was beautiful, the sound design was impeccable, and the acting was so real. The characters were fully fleshed complex and imperfect people, I found myself loving and hating every one. There was metaphor and deep meaning. I think it's the first "spy" show I've seen that didn't glamorize working for the CIA even a little bit. Quite the contrary, it showed how dehumanizing and traumatic being a murder puppet for a corrupt and bankrupt government would actually be. It was heartbreaking, tragic, and yet also so fucking funny. But not funny ha-ha, just the most genius and hilarious concepts and little details, which is so much harder to concieve and execute. I found myself thinking about episodes for days after watching. That's how you know a show is next level good. The backpack episode in particular was maybe one of the best episodes I've ever seen of any show. I could literally write an entire essay on it. As you may have noticed I became immediately obsessed with this absolute work of art of a series, and not renewing it is another reason to curse and rebuke Amazon.
The makers didn’t miss a beat, every second on screen was working on two or three levels. I’ve still got two episodes to watch and have been taking my time. Binged the first season and have carefully managed the second like a man on rations. There’s only been one scene (so far) where John was really happy, overcome with joy, and that’s when he was fending of the tiny policemen. It’s rich and loving and still let’s you know these are some f-up people. The accordion boy being shooed away like a movie horse was terrible but I could so believe they would drunkenly do that and laugh their heads off. I’m full of this show at the moment.
No clue why Patrick Sommerville's niche n quirky limited series shows (which I LOVE) get picked up by Netflix and HBO max and yet Conrad is left with prime and MGM and AMC. It's a criminal offense.
Had something good going then just took it away after two seasons. A lot of fill in the blanks if you ask me. A LOT OF THEM! Also who wouldn’t want to hear Kurtwood Smith sing? Use great actors while you can and take advantage of a crew like Patriot. They were great. You owe us 1-2 seasons of an explanation
There are people who love Patriot and people who haven't seen it.
Exactly!
That he is actually performing this songs on his own makes it so much better. The moment i heard the first song the entire show clicked for me.
This is GOLD. I've got such a huge crush on this show. I’m currently in the middle of what's probably my 7th rewatch.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He dies in the end. 😂

This show was absolutely perfect. It's a crime they didn't get to make season 3 to finish the story.
Hearing Michael Dorman in his actual accent was shocking. An entirely different timbre.
Found this sitting in my room during quarantine.
So good, so funny. So terribly depressing.
...always the wife, always the kids. Always the friends. Always the microseconds on the street that are valuable and appreciated.
Where did you find these videos, Lakeman?!
This one in particular is from prime video’s unlisted video! Idk why they did such things.
the best what amazon has produced so far

Terminal List is my number 1, but this was also good
