You just said exactly what I thought of this bike. I have never ridden an Indian but I still look at them. I like some of the features of their bikes but overall they are not my personal preference. Please note, I did not say anything negative about these bikes. I also appreciate the fact that they as a company push Harley Davidson to be better too. Let's face it who doesn't love a good rivalry. You need your Microsoft vs Apple, your Ford vs Chevy.
Competition is great, but when only two or three companies control the market its nother more than a Monopoly. Microsoft and Apple are no different than Republican vs Democrat same two shity choices.
How Dare you speak ill of that color combo!!!! Just teasing it's not for everyone. I picked up that exact bike for my GF for Christmas and she HAD to have that color. Great review.
I bought a scout bobber about 6 months ago. I think it’s an amazing bike. I have had no issues. The lack of a fuel gauge is a little annoying, but I just reset the odometer and refill at 100miles. The seat also gets uncomfortable when going on multi hour rides.
John Eli Looks like a photo of my mom’s old Chevy.... she is still pissed that my dad sold it, and she can’t even drive anymore. lol. Let that be a reminder guys, don’t piss off women, they hold onto that hate for decades....
Rode that exact bike right before you did. Being a shorter guy (29" inseam) the controls felt just a bit too far forward. Not terrible, but I think, for me, it would get uncomfortable on a longer ride. You're spot on with the suspension, I barely felt any bumps and the roads we were on weren't the greatest. Great review Bird, looking forward to your future vids.
I loved the route that they (Mission City Indian) gave us to get a really great feel for the bike. I love the Bobber, but I'd need to either add the passenger seat or the back rest since when we pulled onto the Interstate I felt like I was coming off the back of the seat. Awesome video review!!
I have had my Scout for 4 years and I'm definitely not bored with it. It's great for commuting to and from work. Although, I am looking for a larger bike for longer rides because after 2 hours the ride gets pretty brutal. I even replaced the stock seat with a Corbin and rear shocks to make it more comfortable, but for longer rides, it's a challenge. Luckily after 130 to 150 miles, you have to stop and fill up your gas tank anyway.
Yeah I think you bring up a good point and that's what the bikes going to be used for. For us, literally NONE of our rides are under 2 hours. When we ride it's a full day/full weekend affair.
I think a windscreen would solve this issue, the only problem is the Scout looks terrible with any sort of windscreen. I have a 2020 Thunder Black Scout ABS.
I test rode one of these & after an hour I was a bit uncomfortable, it's fun & a good bike though. It's a Harley Sportster competitor really, not on a par with the softail lineup, which is what suits me.
Wow, I love my Sportster but this bike is lighter & has double the hp of a Sportster & has a 6th gear which every Sportster rider craves. Why can’t Harley build a bike like this?
Because they have better bikes that are within the same price range. Also idk where you're getting double the HP numbers from. Comparing to the iron 1200, the iron comes in 2 grand cheaper. Granted it has about 25% less HP, it does have more torque (which will almost always be the case when comparing Indian to HD). Compare it to the entry level softail, while about 2 grand more than the Indian, you're getting about 40% more torque and quite a few more creature comforts.
Had one of these Polaris POS for the wife got rid of it In 10 months so many issues and the dealer sucked. Dealer now went under lol. Now the wife has an HD no issues.
@@BikeNBird Why do you need a speedometer... a watch.... a weighing scale... just go with the flow....Look at the birds... Do they have all that? And yet they are so happy and free.... Peace out!
Honestly, I think the color is amazing. It's like the colors that many pre-war Indians have. That was before the days when everyone assumed that motorcycles must be painted black and ridden by a leather clad pirate- a cliche on 2 wheels.
I’m very drunk so forgive me if I’m offensive but I feel like you are another blockhead. Don’t worry you still have your place and this is just me rambling.
Well I'm sorry I'm a hardcore Harley Davidson guy won't ride anything but Harley I think Polaris needs to go back to drawingboard and redesign the Indian line of motorcycles because they look so 50's era in my opinion they are ugly af sure they got plenty of power but so does the Harley Davidson Milwaukee Eight but to me its how they look that turns me off I want a bike that has great performance and good styling Indian Motorcycles isn't that.
I fucking love the vintage looks of the indians. I dont have one yet but im buying a scout and a dark horse. They gotta keep the bikes true to their heritage. And i think they are doing a great job.
Then why are you a Harley guy? Their quality SUCKS! And their pricing is ridiculous.. let’s not mention the bs about the warranty.. I could go on .. Harleys are overpriced, poor performers - who are milking a brand of dying boomers
Scout is a fun bike. Wife and I have one and so far we’re still happy with them.
You forgot to mention it has a USB port in the speedo lol I was mind blown about that

That's actually a great comparison

I loved the Scout Bobber. Dream bike, however it's quite pricey!
I think the color is cool, like something from the 50s

I'm short as well. There are reduced reach controls, handlebar, seat and a heel shifter. Whole different bike after these changes.
Wish we saw a a pic of you on the motorcycle. Foot position, torso position etc...
beautiful colorway def gonna get one
Pricey ain't they. My brand new old stock dyna wasnt but 1k more and its a 103. Thought i wanted a indian but I'll keep my dyna and sportsters.
Yeah...you get what you pay for most of the time.

Man, they managed to find some rough looking roads for you guys to ride on.
I was happy they did. Put the suspension to the test
Looks like a pretty cool bike been riding many many years can't imagine not having a fuel gauge that's dumb

Good observation.
Very informative review.
I love the scout, it’s a nice bike

Such a cool bike, love mine 😊
nice colour

Harley have a new liquid cooled 1250cc Custom on the way.

@@Seren_The_Hunter I had no heard that... thought Indian had one on the way as well...
ron davis they do
@@BikeNBird so say Sportster 883 has maybe 50 horsepower and a 1200 has 70 or so so yeah with a hundred horsepower that's more than 25% more...
Not my thing but your reviews are always good to check out
great review

Is this a good bike for a 6'3 guy?
I own the same bike, I'm 6'2 and it's a little small,but I'm really happy with it.
How people are willing to buy a bike with no RPM gauge is simply beyond me.
Why do you need an RPM gauge...
@@BikeNBird Why do you need a speedometer... a watch.... a weighing scale... just go with the flow....Look at the birds... Do they have all that? And yet they are so happy and free.... Peace out!
@@gdevelek why do I need a speedometer? Because the last time I checked, you cant get a ticket for riding above the rpm limit
The Scout does have a digital tachometer, it’s not the best but you don’t need one TBH.
@@Tony78432 Speak for yourself, dude.
You'll never match the looks of the vintage Indians.
You´re sure that intro song is right? I am getting something totaly different. Not that awesome piece of rock/metal intro
Bored after a year you say.
Green bike with a red/beige speedo. WTF?
almost the best looking bike, but that color is horrible
