I’m so glad you got this video done. You and I are on the same page with a lot of your picks. I’m going to be watching the E90-2 and M-116 Wagners, Willard’s Babe Ruth, Allen & Ginter Comiskey, among others. You know I like Shoeless Joe playing day cards. So, I have already put bids in all of those in both auctions. The M101-4, M101-5, W514, and even the Polo Grounds Game card are in my sights. Of course, I can’t buy all of them. It will be a game time decision of how it is looking and which one is speaking to me. Haha. I love so many of these. These auctions have some cards that really move the needle for me in my prewar tastes. Good luck to you!! And keep these videos coming. I love the new room.
Dave, congratulations on the new house! Good luck on your bids. I'd love to see any of those cards on a future video. The E90 or T205 Cy Young is on my wish list. 🤘🤘
Dave, found a great way to kill a Friday afternoon watching this video. Learned a lot about pre-war oddities. Looking at bond bread and Turkey Reds. Thanks for educating me! Going back to spend time at each auction site.
That 1907 Weiser Wonder Walter Johnson is my absolute grail card. My family is from the area around Weiser, Idaho and my grandpa actually played on the field Walter played on in Weiser. Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Def helps on a long car ride. Love the items you highlighted. A few others that jumped out at me in REA: the 33 Goudey autographed Hack Wilson. Card grade is 2 and auto is 8. Both the card and the auto look fantastic to me. Hard to get a signed one in any condition. The 1909 Smith Postcards Cobb/Wagner. I've never seen one before. Very cool item. Also an unusual amount of 1946 Reyes Del Deporte Cuban cards, including a bunch of the Hall of Famers, famous boxers and the Martin Dihigo. One fantasy item would be the 1917 Conlon Type 1 Shoeless Joe portrait photo. In Mem Lane you highlighted the Ramly Walter Johnson which is incredible, but I also really like the Plank they have. There's a very cool Collins McCarthy Rogers Hornsby, which is a tough rookie card to get. I think the 1917 Pete Alexander batting photo is a great item. Finally, the PSA 5 T3 Cobb is a showstopper.
No I don’t collect Warren Spahn cards, or recommend any. Unfortunately Spahn, feller, ford, Roberts etc etc etc although GREAT players…won’t ever catch fire with collectors and I do t know ow why. Like Musial…. One of the greatest hitters of all time, but he’ll never break into those upper tiers of players who’s value will soar
@@Bluejacket66 Phew (sarcasm)! With regards to the red heart mantle, the other key that set is Musial. Both beautiful cards. But like you said, Musial somehow is a second tier player. Sort of like Robinson (both) and Killebrew. Agreed that the Memory Lane auction is probably the best single high end vintage auction I''ve seen in a long time. Good luck with your bids.
Interesting: though not collecting them, thanks for mentioning the 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Cobb, it does have a very cool picture, maybe his best/most realistic image.
Thanks Dave for the knowledge. I just bought a 1910 E96 Philadelphia Joe Tinker sgc 2, because you had mentioned how rare it is and I love how it looks. Thanks again Dave. God bless
Lots of great stuff Dave! Your card selections are a bit beyond my price range, at least where their final price will be. The 1923 Willard Chocolate Ruth would be amazing but seems destined to exceed the 3k I'm setting for my Ruth budget. I'm currently bidding on the REA 1928 W502 Lou Gehrig SGC Authentic. I'm hopeful it finishes close to the price of the recent PSA 1.🤞
Some fantastic cards in this auction. Thanks for sharing some of your knowledge on these super tough cards. I feel like I learned a lot. So many cool cards to choose from. Good luck on all of your bids !
cool overview, Dave! REA has an Old Judge Jake Beckley that I've been looking for here and there, but I don't like that someone scratched out some of the stuff on the front
Insane bangers in both of these auctions. Really enjoy your insight and take on these cards Dave. I'll be looking at a few cards (more so in the REA auction), some of which you highlighted!
Gee, Dave, why did you MAKE me watch this whole video? It took me two sittings though. I snuck away from Guido, but he caught me and forced me to watch the rest of it. 😉 You showed some cards that are out of my league for now, but how enjoyable this was. Good luck to you. Can’t wait to see an update on what you bring home. I know it will be a “banger”.
I just got on Amazon for a single room dehumidifier 🤷♂️. I would suggest you plan an area we’re you can place a safe for your personal documents and valuables
Thanks for the tour and very interesting seeing what you like and desire. I always go through all the auctions but I am on a more second tier level and just picked up a really nice T206 Lajoie portrait at the Chantilly show so will just be browsing these auctions. The browsing in in itself is a great pleasure. Love looking at your incredible collection.
PSA Mint 9 '62 Aaron is a low pop brown border..... centering a minor issue but crisp. The photo's from '62 are one offs. Love the Mays, YAz, Aaron, Brooks & Frank Robinson.... No stock photos in this 1962 Topps issue~ love it. Great vid and lovely new office for you good sir.... always enjoy your taste and shares.
@@simondaughtry4619 1962 with those brown, wood grain borders are very sensitive. To find “9” corners and borders on that issue would make me study the card intensely
Look forward to you doing these videos Dave. My REA winning bids page looks similar. Great items (current underbidder on 74 Aaron Braves contract, 64 Topps Venny Aaron and 54 Johnston Cookies sheet), but $0 winning bids at present. I will keep an eye on the Aaron HR derby but pretty happy with my current example. Hope that changes by 4/21 at closing gavel. Thanks again. Hope you are enjoying your new digs.
If that E93 Cobb doesn't find its way into your collection to go with the Mathewson, you have missed the boat completely. You OWE IT to the Mathewson to bring home it's equal. It's amazing how easy it is to spend someone else's money! Seriously, good luck with whatever you go after.
Thank you for showing us the playgrounds for the Big Boys Sir!!!! Incredible treasures👏👏👏💎
Lots to learn just by reading the lot descriptions
Love this. More please. Great to hear a history lesson on some of these cards
Thanks for the kind input

Love the t205!
Another great video. Enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks Paul
These auction house videos that you do are so helpful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Dan I’m glad you enjoy them

Thanks Gary! Something for everyone
Great video. First time viewer. I’m not bidding on any of the same lots!!! Good for both of us
Good luck to you! What’s in your wish bucket for this auction?
That was a fun review from your perspective Dave!
Good luck on whatever you decide to bid on!
We shall
See Jake. Thanks
Great vid Dave. #1 card I'm watching at REA is the 67 Venezuelan Retirado Satchel Paige
I saw that … a 4 I think…. And a beauty!!!

It went for a lot of money but deservedly so

I agree with all of that Jim, and yes the plank Ramly is majestic

This is like a crash course for those of us delving into vintage and you are THEE professor. Thanks so much my friend. Nobody does it better!
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy collecting!

I want that card…. and the Williams Caramel
Hi Dave! Most of these are dream cards for me, unfortunately I don’t play in that league but when you are talking about cards I’m listening!
Same with me Jim…. and I’m glad somebody is listening😹
Just a joy to listen to this gentleman
Too kind

Have you bought any exciting new Loofah colors yet?
I have not

As a vintage collector, what's your opinion on half grades? Thanks
I think they’re good. I usually seem th as an eye appeal bump
Bonkers cards at memory lane.

Good luck, Dave! I'm prepared to go well above comps on a couple of cards in the current REA and, with my luck lately, expect to lose them both!😅

So you trust any 1962 Topps that is graded a 9? I’m not sure I do
@@Bluejacket66 What do you suspect specifically?
@@simondaughtry4619 I’d be very wary that they had been trimmed

Random complaint but why do I have to sign back in every 10 minutes on these auction sites? So annoying.
