    First time out with SteadyFast. Dispersed camping for 4 nights where ground is not maintained. Worked great!! Thank you! BTW... I purchased through your site. We need to keep you here! And for those wondering, it did not cost me more to do so!

    Another steadyfast fan here, this system works great and once it’s installed, it takes less than a minute extra to implement it during setup.

    I use a tripod up front and a valterra in the rear, it makes for a very steady trailer

    I installed JT Strongarms on my 5er. Little pricey and the install took the better part of a day but, well worth it.
    Couldn't be more pleased with them.

    I have also used several types and found that the JT Strongarms are FAR superior to all the rest (at least for 5th wheels)

    The Steady Fast is the best style but I thought it was a little pricey. I went with stabilizers from BAL. Similar style and come in pairs for about $70, will attach to a variety of jacks, add as many pairs as you want. I put 4 on the front of my 5th wheel, 1,000% difference!

    the yellow pincer chocks from camco will also remove front to back movement, normal wheel chocks just cant get tight enough in comparison and thats where your lateral movement comes from. If you get two of them with the stock scissor jacks you wont have hardly any movement.

    I have a 30' Travel Trailer and use the Valterra stabilizers. I have been very disappointed with them. Valterra, usually, makes great products. These are not so great. I don't notice any real difference with them installed or not. I have tried them in different locations and it doesn't seem to matter. It feels like we are on an ocean cruise more than a camping trip. My next RV will be a 5th wheel and I will install the Steady Fast system. Great Videos!!!

    Great videos. What is your opinion about a third set of stabilizer in jacks in middle of travel trailer right in front of front axle??

  • @guardian_agent1776

    Hey Jared, love watching your videos. My 24' TT has front and rear electric landing gear jacks. I'm looking at adding the Steadyfast system. However my question to you, if you know the answer,, do you think adding a set of 4 scissor jacks, in front of and behind my tires, would help with stabilization? I know part of the stabilization issue is the flexing of the leaf springs so adding the jacks I think would help eliminate that. What do you think? Thanks and keep up the great videos.

    thanks for the info! We just started full timing in 5th and am curious if there is any need for the kingpin tripod and/or the wheel chocks (yes, gonna chock wheels, but the stabilizer type) if you have the SteadyFast system in place? Thx

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We only use the steady fast system for stability along with wheel chocks but that is to keep the rv from rolling not for stability. Many people use the x-chocks though and seem to be very happy with them

  • @scottwalker7611
    @scottwalker7611 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but the tri-pod isn't designed to stabilize the whole rig, only the area under the king pin. When you used the tri-pod, did you retract your scissor jacks? and disengage all other stabilizers?

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All jacks were still down, we just had to disengage the steady fast brackets

    Class C w/o built in stabilizers, what would be a good option? I have slide stabilizers (manual) as I have one large slide, but I we still have shaking with just winds.

  • @jeffbraun776
    @jeffbraun776 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Jared!! What are your thoughts on slide out stabilizers? I live in my 5th Wheel full time mostly being parked at one spot and wondering if they are a good idea or not?

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have slide stabilizers for our slide but don’t usually travel with them. If we are staying in one place for a long while we will use them. The trick with them is to not over tighten them. Just put them right to the metal otherwise they will jack up the slide causing a gap and making them cockeyed. So some people will say they aren’t worth the money or the time but we do like them for the support of the slide.

    How does the Steadyfast system work when it's windy , do you notice a big difference ?

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have been really impressed with the system even in windy conditions. Occasionally we will have to go out and loosen slightly and then retighten it but that is super rare. It holds so much better for the sway than any of the other methods we have personally tried.

    Fast is way too expensive BAL stabilizer bars or an affordable option for a weekend are much better way to go and 0 set up the tripod to conversum too difficult to set up I'd 86 it it's old school generation technology

    • @AllAboutRVs
      @AllAboutRVs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on the tripod, it’s one of the reasons it was 3rd on the list. We do enjoy the Steadyfast stabilizers, they are quick and stable and the same price if not sometimes better than the Bal stabilizer bars setup for a fifth wheel.
