    I realize this video is old but so many influencers hype up this brand. Thank you for your honesty in saying these items are gold plated. I am getting back into wearing earrings after a long while and thought about trying this brand, I have decided this time around to invest in 14k gold, I have sensitive ears and don't want to put cheap stuff in them. Good video.

    I absolutely hate gold plated anything! I only buy solid gold jewellery and it’s so worth it! I can wear it in the shower and to bed and not have to worry about it ever tarnishing. Also nowadays so many brands charge nearly as much as what you pay for solid gold! It’s ridiculous! 😅

      This is why I started buying solid gold and stayed away from gold plated jewelry when I found out for the cost of two fake necklaces, I could have one real one or one Diamond ring. It’s nuts how these companies that are making costume jewelry are charging as much as the ones who make solid gold

      There are brands that's sell gold plated jewelry starting at $15. I have some that have tasted more than 2 years. I never bought from Ana Luisa or Mejuri because I thought these companies make you pay for the brands not the actual quality.
      I started buying solid gold 2 years ago. I bought a dainty solid gold necklace for $200.

    Very good and honest video in TH-cam. I am very agree! So many brands, such Missoma, Pamela Card,Mejuri and others attractive which I am following website, but too much expensive and not worth that cost. I like all kinds of jewelry am wearing silver most of the time. In the past I was wearing gold plated and bejuteria from Avon, after 1-2 wearing lost gold color and my neck was green-black also got allergy of neck. If compared with silver I am wearing 24/7 no any allergy. But I have also solid gold in 14, 18, 22, 24k jewelry pieces. So solid gold always right choice.

    Ive had my meesh necklace for about 3 weeks and i see what your talking about between some links. I think we dont notice when we first get the jewelry because honestly its so pretty and breathtaking when you first open it that we just dont notice until the newness wears off. Im not too bothered by it because when the necklace is on and the links are laying flat like they are meant to, its not noticeable. I think when they go to plate the jewelry its probably a problem area to get done on each necklace. I dont have any wear on my dobby earings but ive only owned them for about 3 weeks. I dont mind buying statement or fashion pieces as plated jewelry because that meesh necklace would be in the 1000s if it were solid gold and it might not be in style after a few years. But something timeless like a pair of hoops or a signet ring i would want solid gold because those things never go out of style and i can pass them down to my kids/grandkids one day.

    Gold is super expensive at this time. I have real gold and white gold. I had Ana Luisa pieces for 1 or so now, no complaints. I understand your thoughts but I don’t wear the same jewelry everyday to avoid much wear/tear. I think a mix up of jewerly is best. Swarovski is great, Jenny Bird and Made Well is pretty good.

    I find it odd that the gold
    chips off if they claim that the jewelry doesn’t tarnish, that means they are falsely advertising? I just bought the beya necklace and honestly I cannot for the life of me find any other jewelry store selling a style like beya in solid gold so I decided to give them a chance. At least they have a 2 year warranty and they accept returns 😢

    Hello, Marta.
    My name is Brianna Watson and I have a small little podcast, which is just me reading stories to people for free [with listening to certain ads] that is just over a year old. I don't think that Ana Luisa is as transparent as you think that they are.
    I had been approached by this brand to do a sponsorship episode for their jewelry. I was considering them, but I didn't want to be sponsored by someone who isn't so inclusive with the LGBTQ community. I had asked them of such and they told me that they were. They asked me the business/technical aspect of my podcast, but they had asked specifically on the "females percentage that listen" to my podcast. If they were as inclusive as they say they are, then it shouldn't matter on who listens to my podcast.
    This morning, they had declined the sponsorship and will "reach out if anything changes in the future."
    Even if they are sustainable, they shouldn't say that they are "inclusive" if they're not.

    For example in Uzbekistan 1g - 14K gold jewelry 40-50$ and of course it depends of where you are buying(second hand or shop). I am living in China here better deal buy 24k(1g 60-70$), because 14,18k expensive.

    What companies would you recommend for affordable gold jewelry though? The brands I’ve seen are way more than a couple hundred for a solid gold necklace. I’d love to see a video with your recommendations for investment pieces.

    • @martamaboo
      @martamaboo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I could give you recommendations but as I stated in the video I got my pieces as an heirloom. All those pieces were bought at a goldsmith, so there's no website or anything I can give you.
      I would also recommend to check out a goldsmith or jeweler and ask if they sell second hand gold. That's more affordable and the pieces tend to still look very nice :)
      Lastly I would recommend going for 9k gold (that's what I have) since it's also the more "affordable" one compared to others (obviously). It just comes down to what gold color you'd like to have since 9k gold is slightly more of a warm toned gold and not that light yellow like 14k gold.

  • @azsakamoto4582
    @azsakamoto4582 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    They def arent affordable but then again r u gona want to wear the rope earrings in 5 yrs? These r trendy pieces that have longer wear than Forever 21. Also gold plating helps those of us that have sensitive ears. Lastly they r more expensive because they r more earth friendly and have higher ethics. So is it more expensive yes but r there pros yes. Im going not to wear a necklace trend forever. But i like this video bc these are things ppl should weigh before buying. Mindful decisions on purchases r the future.

    • @martamaboo
      @martamaboo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gold plated is good for those with sensitivity, but then one has to mention that the earrings I own from Ana Luisa don’t have a gold plated post, meaning it will still irritate ears…
      Yes, they are more ethical for sure. I mentioned that in my original Ana Luisa video.
      But I prefer to spend my money on craftsmanship that’s local to me or second hand gold :)!

    • @martamaboo
      @martamaboo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's so so frustrating.. I guess it's easier for people to look at the price tag of gold plated jewelry and be willing to spend that certain amount since it's obviously less than gold. But I can only agree because it's actually not worth it in the end.
      I also get frustrated if I think back on how much I've spend on plated jewelry and how many real gold pieces I could have 😂
      But it's ok - I've learned from it ✨

  • @bellefillegisele

    Gold plated and gold vermeil are different. Mejuri sells solid gold and gold vermeil. I have their gold vermeil jewelries and they are holding just fine. How one takes care of their jewelry matters too. I have bought( elsewhere) gold plated or what looks like gold and within 1 month, they were done lol
    Of course, if you can afford gold, buy that or save up and buy a piece that will go with everything. Gold vermeil is the next best thing if you’re on a tight budget or if you want trendy pieces without the price tag.

    Just my opinion, but how can Jewelry that is going to end up in a bin within three years max be sustainable. I buy real because I can't justify the expense and the resources that are wasted. I like the idea of lab grown stone in real metal. I just need to find a company that makes solid pieces. The super light pieces are going to bend or break. These are the ones that are only two times as expensive. You get what you pay for I guess. I have never tried Esty before, maybe I can find pieces similar to ones that friends have gotten in Isreal.

    Hey mal eine Frage wie findest du die Qualität und die Machart von Ana Luisas Diamanten Kette aus 14k Gold und einem echten lab grown diamanten (glaube 0,05ct). Also ich kaufe generell nur Echt Gold und nichts Vergoldetes und habe dank deinem Video von der Marke Abstand genommen, aber diese Kette fand ich sehr hochwertig von der Beschreibung. Was meinst du lohnen sich 350 Euro dafür?

    • @martamaboo
      @martamaboo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ich wünschte ich könnte dir da weiterhelfen, aber da ich die besagte Kette selbst nicht habe oder jemals gesehen habe, möchte ich auch keine falschen Aussahen treffen.
      Ich kann aber von einer 14k Echt Gold Kette von Isabel Bernard berichten: ich hatte für 130€ die Le Marais Nicole Kette gekauft und sie war wirklich ein Witz. So unfassbar dünn, dass man Angst hatte, dass sie jeden Moment zerbrechen könnte. Sie hatte auch so gut wie gar kein Gewicht und war getragen fast nicht zu erkennen.
      Isabel Bernard hat auch Diamant Ketten und das im ähnlichen Preis Bereich von 375€. Warum erzähle ich dir das? Weil ich befürchte/Angst habe, dass die Ana Luisa Kette ähnliche „Probleme“ aufweisen könnte.
      Bestellen und zurückschicken kann man immer und würde das vielleicht sogar empfehlen. Falls es nicht die Ana Luisa wird wollte ich aber vor der Isabel Bernard Kette warnen, denn das war eine pure Enttäuschung.
      Ich hoffe ich konnte dir, auch wenn ich nicht komplett deine Frage beantworten konnte, weiterhelfen! :)
