It's true. Working with old machines makes my choices more considered - my samples more heavily curated. It also helps me commit to ideas. I think the process helps to form the results and there's value in this process.
This is pretty much exactly how I use my S30000 XL. When I want to go lofi. I bring it down to around 26k. Then spdif out to my interface . You can get alot of different character out of this machine.
I think you have to have a sample name and then sample into it. Very strange workflow. you can also just overwrite the basic waves shapes that it has in there.
It was from a guy on ebay. There are cheap backlights (about £25), but this was different - I think he called it a black LED screen for about £120 expensive but well worth it.

Why do you do all this before sampling the acctual sample. It is much easier doing this after the sampling have been done? Or?
