The reason Pascal looks so much different from Lottie and Lyle is probably because they're river otters, while he's a sea otter. They have different shaped mouths, and sea otters have shorter, flatter tails. They also float on their backs. River otters are more sleek, have longer tails, and swim belly down like most aquatic animals.
I found out completely by accident that in New Horizons, if you shoot a present out of the sky directly above a simple well (the big stone well with no top cover), even if there are empty ground tiles surrounding it, the present will fall straight down into the well and disappear instead of bouncing off onto the ground. Considering how circumstantial it is, I just find it really funny that they even thought to add soemthing like that.
Back in the day I misheard the DMX song "Up in Here" as "Pumpkin Head" and haven't been able to unhear it since. It now gets in my head every time I see Jack, like it's his unofficial theme song
16:55: Bluebear is actually a female villager. I have her on my island and everyone uses feminine pronouns for her. Also, she told me a story of the time she wanted to impress another girl in her class. And it was so wholesome.
Hide and seek is in New Horizons too, it just happens very rarely, but you’ll get approached by a villager who asks you to find 3 villagers within a time limit for a present. But I’m not sure what the algorithm is to get it to happen.

Heck, if any of us could travel to a different planet that had intelligent life forms, we'd fit the definition of "alien" that I think is what the snowboy means by that word. The word alien doesn't have to be directed solely on those generic shapes of aliens we all know of
I've never seen anyone talk about this but the person on the rescue service is resetti/someone close to him because if you try to use the rescue service with less than 100 nook miles he says something like "calm down resetti" so it is him or someone near him, probably his brother

for Isabelle, the french name "Marie" is probably a joke with the the word "Mairie" which means "city hall" basically so yeah Marie est à la mairie lmao
Another useless fact: only one villager has a different name in the Dutch localization. Dom's name in Dutch is Donny, likely because "dom" is Dutch for "dumb". As for my birthday, I share it with Coco, the rabbit who looks like a Gyroid.
Pretty sure City Folk's method of obtaining the golden axe is a reference to some folk tale where a farmer or lumberjack (or something along those lines) drops his axe into a lake and weeps the water's edge until the lake spirit appears. He tells the spirit about his woe, and the spirit dives into the lake to fetch his axe, and brings a golden axe up instead. When asked if it was his, he said no. This repeated with a silver axe, and then finally his axe was brought to him, to which he said it was his axe. As reward for his honesty, the lake spirit let him take all three axes.
11:38 Probably one of the reasons why sea otters and river otters are designed completely separately is that, in Japanese, they don’t share a common name. River otters are usually called カワウソ kawauso, whereas sea otters are ラッコ rakko. I for one had never made a connection until it’s pointed out in this video.
@@testerwulf3357 True. The question could more accurately be framed this way: “Why an English speaker thought it’s intriguing that these characters were designed differently even though ‘they are all otters,’” instead of “Why they are designed differently.” About the point brought up here...I think different real‐life things can be stylized differently because they are different, but they can also be designed similarly because they are mentally bunched together. There are real cats (猫) that look different, too, but there is only one variant in game. Of course animal villagers share head types but “cats” don’t HAVE to be one type, if designers feel it’s more appropriate otherwise. An English speaker might design cartoonish “otter” characters to look somewhat similar to each other regardless of if they are river ones or sea ones, but that probably isn’t even a consideration for a Japanese‐speaking designer.
Huh, I always thought the Groundhog Day connection to resetti was through the movie where he keeps reliving the same day and Resetti complains about you replaying the same day over again.
Another thing about the Girl with the Pearl Earring painting, certain fake paintings change depending on the time of day. There's also a statue(the fake ver) that glows at night & floats when you interact with it.(It looks like a robot) Fun fact Resetti's N64 outfit(long sleeve shirt) if you can see his midsection you can see something yellow. He's wearing a haramaki(meaning belly wrap) which is a Japanese belly warmer. In Japan during the 70s & 80s it was considered out-of-date underwear for old men. In some anime stuff old men wear that shirt & belly warmer so Resetti is depicted as an old man yelling at you for resetting.
Despite having Kyle on my island always i never realized him and I shared a birthday! I tend to time skip a lot so i always end up skipping my birthday or not play during the month of december in general, so it gave me a nice smile to see Kyle when i went to look.

I remember Blanca. One thing I remember doing with her is drawing the face of Blaze the Cat on hers. I guess the closest a player without a Nintendo Switch Online account can get in NH is the treasure hunts. (With an NSO account, you can just... play hide-and-seek with your visitors, or your host and other visitors.) Now I'm imagining Redd selling you turnips on Sunday, then the day comes that Nook's Cranny will buy turnips at a higher price than you bought them for, and you go to sell them... only to find that they're made of foam rubber or something, so you completely wasted your money. Hmm. Yeah, I assume your bird-type villagers can't fly, as they have the same limitations on movement as their ground-bound neighbors: if a piece of land is surrounded by water and/or cliff edges with no bridge or ramp to it, they can't go there. They can't vault over the rivers, and they can't use ladders or vines to climb up or down. Snowboys are an alien civilization. They've been looking forward to the moment of their formation since they were still snowflakes. When they melt, they don't feel pain, and even find it fun. Is the rest of the water in the game alive and conscious? Including the water used to brew coffee, or found in baths and showers...? Wait, the tier list is still a thing? It seemed like they stopped maintaining it or something... Also, Mr. Resetti can just show up randomly at The Roost, no amiibo necessary. I guess you could also say that what an artist does with their own music is their business, and if they want to give out what they could be selling, and they're not under contract not to distribute like that... Of course, now you can buy his music, with what's available changing to a random one per day, with only a few not being for sale, but either by request only, or being given to you ONLY on the day you said was your character's birthday. There are also two Daisys: Daisy and Daisy Mae. And then there's Renée and Reneigh, and Tammi and Tammy. The kangaroo children remind me of Wade's floatie. You know, from U.S. Acres/Orson's Farm. I think the rough translation for Booker's Chinese localization is because in Chinese, it's kind of like a sign of endearment or respect to elders who are male to call them uncle. And so, at least from my experience with the language (which is admittedly limited), this is typically done by referring to them as 大爺, but in the case of Booker and Copper it's 叔叔, which also means uncle, but specifically an uncle who's younger than your own father, meanwhile 大爺 is the opposite, an uncle who's older than your own father. It is weird, though, that they didn't give Copper and Booker some unique names at the very least. I think it would have been neat if they did like a play on words kind of name, where their names are homophones of police. Or even just naming Copper as Jing (警) and Booker as Cha (察), which together form the pronunciation for 警察 (police).
Fun fact: In Animal Crossing New Leaf if you get a wii u furniture item and play it and have the villager midge and possibly a different villager midge flies.
I think that middle game in the 3DS display item is actually the Japanese box art for Tomodachi Life. And the style savvy game is the one on the far right.
29:47 As someone who is named Serena, and has been (unwillingly) associated with mermaids all of my life… this just rubs more salt in the wound lmao Also, fun fact: Baku (the dream eating creatures) are also the word for Tapir in Japanese, due to how they look similar to the mythical beast. This is similar to Giraffes and Qilins/Kirins! Qilins (Chinese)/Kirins (Japanese) are essentially a dragon-deer hybrid. They represent justice and are extremely caring beasts. They don’t harm a single living thing, including grass, unless there is an evil being, in which they will pretty brutally kill. So, supposedly, when Giraffes were brought to the emperor of China at the time, they were mistaken for the Qilin, and named after them. Although Qilin are more draconic with lion tails, and Kirin are more deer-like with ox tails (tbh the tails are similar anyways). It’s honestly no surprise they thought Giraffes were draconic, they are gigantic, have horns, and their spots could look like scales. Plus, they both have manes, a tufted tail, and have deer-like legs.
the yellow birds and owls have been on the bulletin boards since at least city folk (i haven't played enough wild world or the og game to remember if they're featured) they're an indicator that there are new posts on your town/islands board, usually with the amount of birds signifying the amount of unread posts
5:48 Blathers can fly, I remember donating an animal and he said “hopefully they don’t eat flying birds “ and then shivers, “flying bird” refers to him and “they” refers to the animal he was talking about

Hide and Seek was so funny on City Folk (or Let's Go To the City). Filbert came up to me and asked to play, and he got Pecan and Blaire, I think, to play and oh my goodness are they bad at hiding! Was terribly fun though as Filbert is my favourite villager.
Reggie's "taking names" quote is not from the same conference as the "my body is ready" one, they're from different events years apart. The former is from his first public introduction as the new president of NoA.
It makes sense why Booker didn't have a gun or baton. If a person is held in a detention facility, staff can't carry firearms and typicaly also do not carry batons either. Booker is a correctional officer/detention officer/jailer at the police station :)

Pascal is a sea otter, and Lottie is a river otter.
My Animal Crossing birthday twin is Apple. I honestly think it fits because, like me, she is either seen as cute, creepy, or ugly.
I've already found out my birthday twin villager! It's Sterling and I'm proud to say that I have his Amiibo card!!
mine is bam, one of my starters.
29:47
As someone who is named Serena, and has been (unwillingly) associated with mermaids all of my life… this just rubs more salt in the wound lmao
Also, fun fact:
Baku (the dream eating creatures) are also the word for Tapir in Japanese, due to how they look similar to the mythical beast.
I just figured Pascal's name was a pun on "pass scallop," because that's generally what you do when you see him.
No it’s based on the pascal measurement which is named after a person; though I suppose it could be a double meaning
The football Item is also called "Football" in german, despite the european football is "Fußball" in german.
Love your work Elijah! Keep it up!
the yellow birds and owls have been on the bulletin boards since at least city folk (i haven't played enough wild world or the og game to remember if they're featured) they're an indicator that there are new posts on your town/islands board, usually with the amount of birds signifying the amount of unread posts
5:48 Blathers can fly, I remember donating an animal and he said “hopefully they don’t eat flying birds “ and then shivers, “flying bird” refers to him and “they” refers to the animal he was talking about
13:10 we all know why best girl was popular in that period.
I love these videos so much! I find I enjoy them more when I slow them down a bit and can relax while taking in all the info. Too bad TH-cam only lets me slow it down in increments of 25%! I feel like if the audio was slowed down 5-10% it would be perfect!
12:33 How?!
It's also a bit strange they used the Japanese box art instead of the US box art
I share a birthday with Vivian! And I actually used to be really sad because before she was introduced I didn't share my birthday with any villager while the rest of my family did haha
i love how halfway through the facts just are random observations that mean nothing
I can confirm that the Don resetti theory is correct as I've had it multiple times
Man, the jack and bluebear facts were really something. I never would've guessed.
Oh what Ankha was famous out of nowhere? I have noooo idea why that could be! We will neeeeever know...
I was very confused when I thought I recognized the Tomodachi Life cover only for you to go “Style Savvy 4!”, only to realized you’d just swapped them around.
My birthday twin is Bella! I didn’t like her at first, but now I think she’s pretty cool!
Isabella was born first while Digby was born seconds after. Making them twins
I HAD NO IDEA THAT GOLDEN TOOLS EXISTED
this is so cool thank you for posting this video ! im so excited to get all the golden tools now ^^
5:15 Pascal is not only a famous mathematician but also a very famous philosopher so it makes sense that his name and his life statements are actually more related to his philosophical work 😊
"You can see pumpkins on the side of Jack's truck. This is likely a reference to the fact that his head is a pumpkin" 😂
For the gold tools in new horizions: if you're lazy and dont wanna do stuff, you can use a bot to get them
But its more fun if you do stuff :>
Bro when u told me that blue bear was a reference to him being a blue bear, it just blew me away like I never would have guessed :O
in 12:33 the game is Tomodachi life, but the japanese cover; and the last onr IS style savvy. you mixed them up 😂
Hide and Seek was so funny on City Folk (or Let's Go To the City). Filbert came up to me and asked to play, and he got Pecan and Blaire, I think, to play and oh my goodness are they bad at hiding! Was terribly fun though as Filbert is my favourite villager.
20:00 just remember that PaRappa The Rapper 2 for Europe has the line including words “40 pounds”. This actually pissed me off. Like, why?
The fashion game in the stand is actually Tomodachi Life Japan version 12:33
your birthday is on christmas day? thats so cool!
16:32 finally someone telling us the real important information
I know its useless facts but man you were struggling halfway in
Reggie's "taking names" quote is not from the same conference as the "my body is ready" one, they're from different events years apart. The former is from his first public introduction as the new president of NoA.
Lol bro really said “my birthday is December 25” all nonchalant as if his birthday ain’t on Christmas day lolll🤣
It makes sense why Booker didn't have a gun or baton. If a person is held in a detention facility, staff can't carry firearms and typicaly also do not carry batons either. Booker is a correctional officer/detention officer/jailer at the police station :)
Finally, the best part of the day Elijah Rocket😊😊
Drawing that cats face was the best thing ever.
I do not share a birthday with a villager, but i do share a name with one
Isabell’s French name Marie is very similar to the word Mairie, which means town hall
I'm about 13 minutes in. The only "useless" fact I've seen so far is "Pocket Camp Update on July 11th 2019 fixed a few bugs" 😂
"The colour code for the pink on Freya's fur is actually #FF92A4 or like something like that."
I mean, I guess that is useless information...
Don does appear in the rescue line! Pretty sure he replaces resetti on the weekends, atleast I think so
does the title say 30 minutes of useless animal crossing facts? yes. did I willingly proceed to watch the whole thing? yes.
wish you could hug the villagers.... (probably most of the players wish this too)
Something most people don’t realize is that Booker’s first language isn’t English, which is why he sounds unsure of what he’s talking about.
Im surpised this comment section doesn’t have timed yet and im not spending my time for a obscure part at 17:16
That is the villager Curly, i have him and idk if he was making fun of his looks cause he said it was “just a pig”
Brain: oooo useless stuff me: bruh I love the video
3:13 wasnt this in new leaf as well?
SOME of this information is so stupid and pointless but ... yeah, you're just giving me exactly what you described: useless information.
