The thing that differentiates this from other things we've seen from Big Mom is that Okobore town fed her out of the kindness of their hearts. It's not just being fed, it's the kindness that accompanies it. On Fishman Island, it was a business transaction. She may be cruel, but she can recognize and reward unsolicited kindness that is directed at her.
On some level she probably equates it to the kindness of Mother Caramel and the Giant's when she was a child. Something precious being destroyed, like her past was, seems to be the trigger Oda is leading us towards and where her heart truly operates from. Our perception of her has just been muddled by her weak mind, potentially her split soul, and by the decades of navigating the dark pirate world.

The meaning of life is our relationship with God. These four steps are the key to getting a Divine Revelation directly from him. They are something you'd eventually do if you took God seriously enough to read the Bible, while implementing its teachings. They are, forgive your parents, break down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read three books of the Bible. Step four requires the first book of each testament, and one you chose yourself. The order is actually important. The steps build on each other. Each one primes your soul for the next. To be forgiven we must forgive. Mathew 6: 14-15. That's why forgiving others has to come before asking for forgiveness. Jesus will not forgive you until you've at least done the bare minimum, our parents. They're supposed to be easiest to forgive, because they've fed, housed, loved us to some degree. Our problems with them are supposed to represent our problems with God. This is why the bare minimum to receive the revelation is our parents. You'll still have to forgive everyone though, but that comes much easier after meeting God. I'm extremely serious and very literal. I'm not talking about signs, nor feelings, nor prayer. It's an actual literal pulled out of your body direct one on one conversation, nothing you can miss. nor misinterpretae. The vast majority of christans never bother to do what God wants seriously, so most never get this revelation. To most outside church their Bible is a paper weight, or at best a virtue signal. Their religion is in what other people think about them, not their relationship with God. Please do those steps I mentioned, there really is a Divine Revelation waiting for all of us. There's extraordinarlly important information we all desperately need in this revelation, but those who get it are forbidden to share it. The Truth that Jesus Christ is Lord is written on every human heart. We all have that knowledge inside us, but we bury it under mountains of pain and anger. Those steps clear away that garbage inside you, letting God heal you, so that his words boom clearly inside your soul. The entire point of our existence here is to Trust God enough that we pay him this mustard seed of Faith, so his Grace can remove the stain sin has left on our souls. Everyone that does not get this Grace is not forgiven of any of their sins, even if they turned around and we're the best person from 25 to death. Without Grace those first sins are still counted against you, tying you to the devil's punishment. It's not about being a good person, It's about being forgiven for when you weren't. The Bible is Truth. Please do those steps and see for yourself. Please take your salvation seriously.,.
I think the community is too focused on the "Motherly side" phrase. She is an overgrown child and Tama befriended her, therefore she is compelled to protect her. Just like most little girls do with smaller children. She doesn't show love to her children because most sit at the adult's table. She feels all alone surrounded by people that are constantly "managing" her, and she finally found a friend her age (mentally).
Yeahp exactly and thats why Lola has good memories of her since Big Mom was most likely really kind to her as a little girl. Shes also kind to all her younger kids and yes even Pudding, she only lets her inner thoughts out about Puddings eye due to her being immature. But lets be real too it wasnt just Tama she was protecting, the chapter is called Code of the Sweet Bean. We know how Big Mom is with food...
My own grandma has a "motherly mode" to small children too. Moreso than her own grand children. Which is fine. She just likes cute small children. This makes perfect sense to me
That could be it but then again, it is called motherly mode, and linlin seems to act more motherly than a same age playmate to the child she's talking to. Eg: giving "motherly advice" to her children in the scene where her daughter wanted a knife, and you could see the young linlin wanting to help tama, but that's also something mothers want to do as well
To me, Big Mom is essentially a fickle chaotic goddess of nature, and on a more character level, she never stopped being a giant, super strong and hungry 5 year old.

@Boga Destroyer Besides from being part of the Beast Pirates he really didn't do anything, he just happen to be the one closest to Big Mom when she got pissed at Kaido for what his crew did to O-Tama village.
I don't know id he had any involvement in that particular excursion. That being said, if I recall when he was hunting Sanji earlier, he ended up destroying and eating the contents of multiple unrelated food stands telling the owners to scream for Sanji to show himself if they wanted the destruction to stop. So he is not exactly innocent even if he had nothing to do with what happened to Tama's village. At any rate, that is one of the flying six who will hopefully be out for a while.
From what we know of Big Mom's life, i wouldn't be surprised if Tama was her first real friend since she was like 10 years old in Elbaf. The first person to be genuinely sweet to her, to listen to her, share her love for oshiruko and play with her, i think it makes 100% sense that she would care for her and get angry towards kaido's forces for hurting people who fed her even when they didn't have enough for them selfs. And even worse, kaido has being starving them to death, the one thing that BM probably hates the most in life, and then attacked them just for wanting to eat. It was already obvious they were going to betray each other, and this is the spark thats going to light up that big block of dynamite.
I think her code of honor is you don't trample on people who already submitted to you. I mean, Big Mom is biased as hell but she doesn't burn places intentionally when the people are already defenceless and weak. She controlled Fishman Island but even she never ravaged it after they intentionally submitted to her
We were all waiting if Big Mom would meet Tama again. And we got confirmation that Dangos don’t work on real zoans. I think big mom is like Luffy but more spoiled violent and was enabled by mother Carmel.

You missed the best part about what Kaido says to Luffy! He says 'the bigger your smile... Right?' He's implying the bigger Luffys smile, the closer he is to death. It's so bad ass.
I personally love the idea of mothering mode, it fleshes out Big Mom’s character as a mother, I just wish we got to see more moments of kindness of mama towards her children and other kids so we’d have a bit more set up and have mother mode not seem so random. Glad to know her days as a pirate haven’t hardened her heart

I dont dislike it. I do however wish the story would stop throwing Big Mom, whether its off the roof, a waterfall, or by Jinbe. I know im in a minority when it comes to that, but I find that annoying.
People are taking the 'mother mode' thing too seriously. Big Mom is a giant child, that's been the core of her character since Whole Cake. She throws temper tantrums when she doesn't get her treats, she has crazy inconsistent moods that can flip for the smallest reasons, and she has an immature view of the world that leads her to hurt people when she's trying to help. It makes sense that she'd fit in with children, and it's been shown before. Prometheus calling it 'mother mode' doesn't mean it's something new.
Exactly, this is what I've been saying too. It's all tied into her trauma as a child, this happens in the real world too where people don't mentally mature or progress after experiencing severe trauma at a young age.

You know when you think about it, the way Kaido runs Wano is different than how Big Mom runs whole cake. Though its true the citizens of both territories live in fear of their respective emperor whenever they go on one of their rampages, atleast no one in whole cake hast to worry about starving.
Very true, I wonder how many of the people in Totto land (I hope I am spelling that right) are there willingly and how many are forced to live there. In Wano, they are obviously a conquered country filled with citizens that Kaido cares nothing for outside of their productivity in his factories. In Totto land, it seems that they are content for the most part to live there despite Big Mom's rampages and her soul tax. Near the end of the arc, some people seemed to be considering leaving when they were worried her rampage would never end noting that they paid the price she asked of them for protection and now she would be the one to kill them. Apparently that was when they had enough, but they were fine when she came back to her senses.

Big Mom's businesslike mindset, Kaido's rather dystopian/militaristic (and if he gets his way, chaotic mindset) Whitebeard's protection of those he deems his friends, Blackbeard's pirate paradise, and however Shanks manages his territory. The differences between the Yonko and the relationship they have with their protectorates is interesting. For example, Whitebeard put Fishman Island under his protection out of friendship with King Neptune and clearly that meant no one would dare cause trouble there unless they were insane or looking for trouble. Big Mom demanded tribute, she only protected them from outside threats not internal ones, and threatened to destroy it if it couldn't meet the demand. Clearly while Neptune and Jimbe were happy to have Whitebeard's protection, they only went to Big Mom because they needed a Yonko's protection and she likely seemed the best choice at the time.
I think it’s less “they took my oshiruko” and more “they gave me all they had because they were good people. How can I call myself a ruler if I don’t honor that kindness?”

Did anyone notice how Luffy is fighting Kaido in his base form. It's so nice that Luffy is at this level when in base form. Though I imagine part of the reason is that the gears use too much of his Haki and stamina for a protracted battle like this, and that Luffy doesn't have the experience to merge advanced conqueror's Haki with the gears just yet
It is nice to see this. I agree, for the moment it is best for Luffy to conserve his stamina and keep Kaido occupied for as long as possible unless he is certain he can win by being risky. It allows him to gradually wear Kaido down and ensure that Kaido doesn't end up going back inside and becoming a risk to everyone else. Anyone else who could potentially fight him right now is either busy or injured. Luffy is the only one standing between him and the rest of the alliance as well as his crew.
I loooove the idea of Big Mom being an agent of chaos in this battle. It fits with her character, in my opinion. I turned 29 this year and I'm in sheer panic about 30.

@@TheRubyGamesOG Obviously he would enhance Nami's arsenal, and it is likely the two would fight if they met. Hera seems entirely devoted to Big Mom while Zeus is clearly viewed as unreliable. Matches their mythological counterparts actually which adds fuel to the fire. For the moment Big Mom is in mother mode and the longer she stays there the better, but given her rather chaotic personality, the chaotic battlefield and Oda's love of surprises, I don't see that lasting very long. Even if it does, she still might end up hurting someone on the Strawhat's side. Just as an observation, Big Mom is dangerous even at the best of times even on occasions when she might not necessarily mean to be.
You know people aren't ask the real question here: WHERE ARE BIG MOM'S OTHER KIDS? seriously it's been almost over a hundred chapters and we only saw Perospero and even he didn't mention where they are.

They're probably still on the ship trying to get into Wano for the umpteenth time. Besides the battles big enough already. Perospero is her eldest son so with Katakuri back at Whole Cake he can represent her crew in this battle.
Tama MVP she has done so much for the arc with her powers and pure soul. Sides are switching by the minute and I just enjoy it so much. Also hope you talk about Vinland saga again for the last war before the actual Vinland saga started

Actually, the thing with Big Mom makes a lot of sense both with her back story and Totland. Tama just told her people are starving and Kaido is behind it. Even without people she liked involved, I don't think people starving is going to sit well with Big Mom.
Big Mom has no problem killing etc but 1 thing she fears above all else is starving. Her mental state is batshit crazy and i love it. The fact she is so unpredictable is always a joy to watch

It seems like Oda wants us to believe that Big Mom is a good person deep down, but her life as a pirate, her gluttony, greed, and misfortune of having hunger pangs gets in the way of that. As a child Big Mom was always well meaning, when she lost her memory she was kind and motherly, and now she is choosing a code of honor over her alliance with Kaido. She will probably be Tama and Wano's ally, even if she would kill Luffy and his crew without a second thought

Shanks is no doubt a badass and i love him but i agree that Big Mom is my favourite to watch. At first she appears as a female version of Kaidos character but she has the split personalities and that unpredictable nature it just makes her fun to watch

I can see her challenging Big Mom since she is rather headstrong (pun not intended) but I don't know if she would be willing to cooperate with Kid, nor him with her.
@@mumblebee4746 While it is true that she is loyal to her "brother" (I am not sure if they are blood-related or not. If so, dysfunctional family) I am pretty sure there are some lines she wouldn't cross. She is fiercely loyal to Kaido, to the point that while he doesn't escape her vitriol she goes out of her way to kill anyone who claims that someone other than Kaido will be pirate king. Besides, if Big Mom's actions get to the point where she becomes more of a hindrance then a help, Kaido may decide to end the alliance early. Pirate alliances by nature tend to be shaky at best.

What Big Mom did is definitely a betrayal that might trigger Ulti more than just having his Paypay severely injured, it will give her more reason not to hesitate attacking Big Mom(she even want to make Yamato pay for using Thunder Bagua, thats Kaidos Son). The mere reason why I think they MIGHT team up is because looking at the situation. You have Kid, Ulti, Nami, Usopp on the scene. its quite unlikely for Big Mom to be ordered around by a child. Kid definitely cant take uninjured big mom alone, neither Ulti. I cant see Nami and Usopp injuring Big Mom. And Big Mom is mad at Kaidos crew now Ulti is not going to be an exception. So a team up is the most realistic thing that I can think of to happen here against Big Mom, not most likely to defeat her but to at least give time for luffy and who knows what is Big Mom's decision after Kaido's defeat. But of course, Oda is almost always unpredictable he might be able to pull off something we wont expect.

Ulti does tend to be as hot-tempered as she is hotheaded so I can see her being angry enough to try. Her anger at Yamato is likely partly because she was attacked and partly because Yamato clearly intends to take Kaido down. A common interpretation of this scene is that while Tama has managed to distract Big Mom for the moment, she is unlikely to hold back once she remembers that Nami, Usopp, and Kid are there. At least Page One is out of the fight for the foreseeable future. I suppose them working together would be the best option, but I do worry about how well that would work. Putting aside the fact that they have never fought together and could get in each other's way, there is the possibility that they will fight without considering the safety of the others. I worry more about Kid and Ulti doing this in general. Both of them are hot-tempered and that could lead to them fighting each other impulsively and of course the second they are out of danger from Big Mom, it is back to business as usual. Just my worries. I agree that Big Mom would not be someone Kid could take on by himself, I doubt he would be able to do so even if Killer was fighting alongside him and he will likely be busy with Hawkins for a while. Hawkins doesn't strike me as someone who fights unless he thinks he has a good chance of winning. Back on topic, throughout the Whole Cake arc, Big Mom was an obstacle that they had to try and outrun or escape. Similar to Luffy and Magellan, their only chance of survival was to keep ahead of her. Now they did very well on that front, but she has her senses right now and I doubt Nami and Ussop will have as much luck on their own. Logically, it would be best for them to work together to keep her occupied until the situation turns in their favor. If she is fighting them, she won't be focused on interrupting other fights which is similar to Luffy's situation with Kaido. If the alliance is to survive this arc, the two Yonko must be defeated or at least driven off. I cannot predict what Oda will do, but for now those who can fight the two Yonko should do so and try to keep them occupied for as long as possible. Just my opinions.
Well her kids are obligated to listen to and are scared of her. Tama was just pure kindness to Big Mom. And who's to say she wasn't kind to her kids in their younger years? She can't run an empire filled with bloodthirsty murderers and criminals by being kind to them.

I'd love to see that happen - it would be a great Oda play in the final war to have Luffy's forces vs marines vs Blackbeard...and then in the middle of it all a massive air fortress bursts through the clouds, deploying hundreds of smaller crafts and sending a huge surge of lightning across the battlefield...Enel found and repaired Uranus on the Moon, and now he's taking it for a test drive.
This chapter solidified why there can never really be a combined yonko threat to the WG and Navy. They just cant agree to work together without somebody screwing over someone or something another Yonko likes. 😂
They are rather prideful people who are not used to having to work with or answer to someone else when it comes to getting what they want. It doesn't hurt that they seem to all view each other as rivals for the most part.
Ok so from what I understand. Some of Big Mom’s key aspects is that she’s a glutton, she’s childish, she’s unstable and she’s a mother. She’s such a glutton, and so unstable, that she goes into these moments of madness where she would be willing to take away chunks of her children’s lifespans if they get in the way of her treats. But she’s still a mom and she has a large, LARGE family, and I don’t think she’s ever actually killed any of her kids. But she can be abusive. And she’s incredibly powerful too. This breed a huge environmental of uncertainty and chaos. The fact that all her children have been intact at all is amazing on its own right. So now, there is new “mothering mode” which explains how the fuck so many of her kids made it past the age of 10 without dying, I have no problems with this aspect. Although her attacking Kaido’s crew has already been telegraphed since the start. Kaido even called her out when she started getting obvious about the fact that she will betray Kaido. She wants to be Pirate King after all. So her learning that a town that fed her delicious food was burned to the ground by Kaido’s men will obviously make her mad. This is just a good excuse to start weakening Kaido’s forces. Although I don’t think it will last. She punched Page One because of Gluttony, fundamentally. She’s only grateful to the town because they gave her food. So they won her favor. Kaido and Orochi in turn starve the people. Thats the difference in how they rule. Whole Cake Island has gluttony. Wano has starvation. Kaido and Big Mom can never truly coexist.
I hope they don't show up yet, things are complicated enough right now. Unless they can fly they are unlikely to show up right now while they are in the air.

The thing that differentiates this from other things we've seen from Big Mom is that Okobore town fed her out of the kindness of their hearts. It's not just being fed, it's the kindness that accompanies it. On Fishman Island, it was a business transaction. She may be cruel, but she can recognize and reward unsolicited kindness that is directed at her.
On some level she probably equates it to the kindness of Mother Caramel and the Giant's when she was a child. Something precious being destroyed, like her past was, seems to be the trigger Oda is leading us towards and where her heart truly operates from. Our perception of her has just been muddled by her weak mind, potentially her split soul, and by the decades of navigating the dark pirate world.

Everyone that does not get this Grace is not forgiven of any of their sins, even if they turned around and we're the best person from 25 to death. Without Grace those first sins are still counted against you, tying you to the devil's punishment. It's not about being a good person, It's about being forgiven for when you weren't. The Bible is Truth. Please do those steps and see for yourself. Please take your salvation seriously.,.
I think the community is too focused on the "Motherly side" phrase. She is an overgrown child and Tama befriended her, therefore she is compelled to protect her. Just like most little girls do with smaller children. She doesn't show love to her children because most sit at the adult's table. She feels all alone surrounded by people that are constantly "managing" her, and she finally found a friend her age (mentally).
Yeahp exactly and thats why Lola has good memories of her since Big Mom was most likely really kind to her as a little girl. Shes also kind to all her younger kids and yes even Pudding, she only lets her inner thoughts out about Puddings eye due to her being immature. @Boga Destroyer Besides from being part of the Beast Pirates he really didn't do anything, he just happen to be the one closest to Big Mom when she got pissed at Kaido for what his crew did to O-Tama village.
I don't know id he had any involvement in that particular excursion. That being said, if I recall when he was hunting Sanji earlier, he ended up destroying and eating the contents of multiple unrelated food stands telling the owners to scream for Sanji to show himself if they wanted the destruction to stop. So he is not exactly innocent even if he had nothing to do with what happened to Tama's village. At any rate, that is one of the flying six who will hopefully be out for a while.
From what we know of Big Mom's life, i wouldn't be surprised if Tama was her first real friend since she was like 10 years old in Elbaf. The first person to be genuinely sweet to her, to listen to her, share her love for oshiruko and play with her, i think it makes 100% sense that she would care for her and get angry towards kaido's forces for hurting people who fed her even when they didn't have enough for them selfs.
And even worse, kaido has being starving them to death, the one thing that BM probably hates the most in life, and then attacked them just for wanting to eat.
It was already obvious they were going to betray each other, and this is the spark thats going to light up that big block of dynamite.
I think her code of honor is you don't trample on people who already submitted to you. I mean, Big Mom is biased as hell but she doesn't burn places intentionally when the people are already defenceless and weak.

I personally love the idea of mothering mode, it fleshes out Big Mom’s character as a mother, I just wish we got to see more moments of kindness of mama towards her children and other kids so we’d have a bit more set up and have mother mode not seem so random. Glad to know her days as a pirate haven’t hardened her heart

People are taking the 'mother mode' thing too seriously. Big Mom is a giant child, that's been the core of her character since Whole Cake. She throws temper tantrums when she doesn't get her treats, she has crazy inconsistent moods that can flip for the smallest reasons, and she has an immature view of the world that leads her to hurt people when she's trying to help. It makes sense that she'd fit in with children, and it's been shown before. Prometheus calling it 'mother mode' doesn't mean it's something new.
Exactly, this is what I've been saying too. It's all tied into her trauma as a child, this happens in the real world too where people don't mentally mature or progress after experiencing severe trauma at a young age.

You know when you think about it, the way Kaido runs Wano is different than how Big Mom runs whole cake.
Though its true the citizens of both territories live in fear of their respective emperor whenever they go on one of their rampages, atleast no one in whole cake hast to worry about starving.
Very true, I wonder how many of the people in Totto land (I hope I am spelling that right) are there willingly and how many are forced to live there. In Wano, they are obviously a conquered country filled with citizens that Kaido cares nothing for outside of their productivity in his factories. In Totto land, it seems that they are content for the most part to live there despite Big Mom's rampages and her soul tax. Near the end of the arc, some people seemed to be considering leaving when they were worried her rampage would never end noting that they paid the price she asked of them for protection and now she would be the one to kill them. Apparently that was when they had enough, but they were fine when she came back to her senses.

Big Mom's businesslike mindset, Kaido's rather dystopian/militaristic (and if he gets his way, chaotic mindset) Whitebeard's protection of those he deems his friends, Blackbeard's pirate paradise, and however Shanks manages his territory. The differences between the Yonko and the relationship they have with their protectorates is interesting. For example, Whitebeard put Fishman Island under his protection out of friendship with King Neptune and clearly that meant no one would dare cause trouble there unless they were insane or looking for trouble. Big Mom demanded tribute, she only protected them from outside threats not internal ones, and threatened to destroy it if it couldn't meet the demand. Clearly while Neptune and Jimbe were happy to have Whitebeard's protection, they only went to Big Mom because they needed a Yonko's protection and she likely seemed the best choice at the time.

Did anyone notice how Luffy is fighting Kaido in his base form. It's so nice that Luffy is at this level when in base form. Though I imagine part of the reason is that the gears use too much of his Haki and stamina for a protracted battle like this, and that Luffy doesn't have the experience to merge advanced conqueror's Haki with the gears just yet
It is nice to see this. I agree, for the moment it is best for Luffy to conserve his stamina and keep Kaido occupied for as long as possible unless he is certain he can win by being risky. It allows him to gradually wear Kaido down and ensure that Kaido doesn't end up going back inside and becoming a risk to everyone else. Anyone else who could potentially fight him right now is either busy or injured. Luffy is the only one standing between him and the rest of the alliance as well as his crew.
I loooove the idea of Big Mom being an agent of chaos in this battle. It fits with her character, in my opinion.

@@TheRubyGamesOG Obviously he would enhance Nami's arsenal, and it is likely the two would fight if they met. Hera seems entirely devoted to Big Mom while Zeus is clearly viewed as unreliable. Matches their mythological counterparts actually which adds fuel to the fire. For the moment Big Mom is in mother mode and the longer she stays there the better, but given her rather chaotic personality, the chaotic battlefield and Oda's love of surprises, I don't see that lasting very long. Even if it does, she still might end up hurting someone on the Strawhat's side. Just as an observation, Big Mom is dangerous even at the best of times even on occasions when she might not necessarily mean to be.

Actually, the thing with Big Mom makes a lot of sense both with her back story and Totland. Tama just told her people are starving and Kaido is behind it. Even without people she liked involved, I don't think people starving is going to sit well with Big Mom.
Big Mom has no problem killing etc but 1 thing she fears above all else is starving. Her mental state is batshit crazy and i love it. The fact she is so unpredictable is always a joy to watch

It seems like Oda wants us to believe that Big Mom is a good person deep down, but her life as a pirate, her gluttony, greed, and misfortune of having hunger pangs gets in the way of that. As a child Big Mom was always well meaning, when she lost her memory she was kind and motherly, and now she is choosing a code of honor over her alliance with Kaido. She will probably be Tama and Wano's ally, even if she would kill Luffy and his crew without a second thought

After Tekking mention Tama's speech I thought what if Tama was the one who was gonna die in the end of Wano. The reason why I say this is because she's using her devil fruit on so many strong people and it might take a huge toll on her. Right now we don't see it but it could be because she's hiding it.

Big Mom saving Tama reminds me of the end of Jurassic Park 1 when the T-Rex saves them from the raptors. When this chapter gets animated someone needs to put the Jurrasic park soundtrack from that scene over this part.

Shanks is no doubt a badass and i love him but i agree that Big Mom is my favourite to watch. At first she appears as a female version of Kaidos character but she has the split personalities and that unpredictable nature it just makes her fun to watch

I'm starting to like Big mom more and more than I did on Whole cake arc.
28:35 and 31:20 "mamamamama" by far my favorite moment. Tekking just has there gems every once and awhile and i dont think he notices them because he's going a million miles a second trying to put together a great review for us.
Not gonna lie, after seeing Big Mom interacting with Otama so kindly and hearing what happened to people that treated her with kindness... I kinda wish to see her becoming an ally.

Tekking do u think another reason they say big mom is like a big sister to kaido was because maybe on the rocks crew big mom was the one that tried to straighten him out if he didn’t follow the pirate code? And also how do u think whitebeard and big mom acted on the crew when ppl would plunder innocent ppl like how on the roger crew it was forbidden as we found out in the oden flashback given how mad big mom got and how whitebeard is do you think they would fight crewmates for burning down towns for nothing?
What I got from this chapter is why kaido was so scared of big mom coming to wano. He knew once she saw what was happening she would go on the attack.

I really think Ulti will attack Big Mom. Seeing her paypay like that will definitely make her attack Big Mom. Ulti + Kid vs Big Mom is what I can see.
I can see her challenging Big Mom since she is rather headstrong (pun not intended) but I don't know if she would be willing to cooperate with Kid, nor him with her.

@@mumblebee4746 While it is true that she is loyal to her "brother" (I am not sure if they are blood-related or not. If so, dysfunctional family) I am pretty sure there are some lines she wouldn't cross. She is fiercely loyal to Kaido, to the point that while he doesn't escape her vitriol she goes out of her way to kill anyone who claims that someone other than Kaido will be pirate king. Besides, if Big Mom's actions get to the point where she becomes more of a hindrance then a help, Kaido may decide to end the alliance early. Pirate alliances by nature tend to be shaky at best.
@@jamesvach6698 well youve said it. If she really is so fiercely loyal to kaido. What Big Mom did is definitely a betrayal that might trigger Ulti more than just having his Paypay severely injured, it will give her more reason not to hesitate attacking Big Mom(she even want to make Yamato pay for using Thunder Bagua, thats Kaidos Son). The mere reason why I think they MIGHT team up is because looking at the situation. You have Kid, Ulti, Nami, Usopp on the scene. its quite unlikely for Big Mom to be ordered around by a child. Kid definitely cant take uninjured big mom alone, neither Ulti. I cant see Nami and Usopp injuring Big Mom. And Big Mom is mad at Kaidos crew now Ulti is not going to be an exception. So a team up is the most realistic thing that I can think of to happen here against Big Mom, not most likely to defeat her but to at least give time for luffy and who knows what is Big Mom's decision after Kaido's defeat. But of course, Oda is almost always unpredictable he might be able to pull off something we wont expect.
@@mumblebee4746 Big Mom was never going to be a reliable ally so I suppose it is not a surprise that something like this happened. Ulti does tend to be as hot-tempered as she is hotheaded so I can see her being angry enough to try. Her anger at Yamato is likely partly because she was attacked and partly because Yamato clearly intends to take Kaido down. A common interpretation of this scene is that while Tama has managed to distract Big Mom for the moment, she is unlikely to hold back once she remembers that Nami, Usopp, and Kid are there. At least Page One is out of the fight for the foreseeable future. I suppose them working together would be the best option, but I do worry about how well that would work. Putting aside the fact that they have never fought together and could get in each other's way, there is the possibility that they will fight without considering the safety of the others. I worry more about Kid and Ulti doing this in general. Both of them are hot-tempered and that could lead to them fighting each other impulsively and of course the second they are out of danger from Big Mom, it is back to business as usual. Just my worries.
I agree that Big Mom would not be someone Kid could take on by himself, I doubt he would be able to do so even if Killer was fighting alongside him and he will likely be busy with Hawkins for a while. Hawkins doesn't strike me as someone who fights unless he thinks he has a good chance of winning. Back on topic, throughout the Whole Cake arc, Big Mom was an obstacle that they had to try and outrun or escape. Similar to Luffy and Magellan, their only chance of survival was to keep ahead of her. Now they did very well on that front, but she has her senses right now and I doubt Nami and Ussop will have as much luck on their own. Logically, it would be best for them to work together to keep her occupied until the situation turns in their favor. If she is fighting them, she won't be focused on interrupting other fights which is similar to Luffy's situation with Kaido. If the alliance is to survive this arc, the two Yonko must be defeated or at least driven off. I cannot predict what Oda will do, but for now those who can fight the two Yonko should do so and try to keep them occupied for as long as possible. Just my opinions.

This chapter solidified why there can never really be a combined yonko threat to the WG and Navy. They just cant agree to work together without somebody screwing over someone or something another Yonko likes. 😂
They are rather prideful people who are not used to having to work with or answer to someone else when it comes to getting what they want. It doesn't hurt that they seem to all view each other as rivals for the most part.

Ok so from what I understand.
Some of Big Mom’s key aspects is that she’s a glutton, she’s childish, she’s unstable and she’s a mother. She’s such a glutton, and so unstable, that she goes into these moments of madness where she would be willing to take away chunks of her children’s lifespans if they get in the way of her treats.
But she’s still a mom and she has a large, LARGE family, and I don’t think she’s ever actually killed any of her kids. But she can be abusive. And she’s incredibly powerful too. This breed a huge environmental of uncertainty and chaos. The fact that all her children have been intact at all is amazing on its own right.
So now, there is new “mothering mode” which explains how the fuck so many of her kids made it past the age of 10 without dying, I have no problems with this aspect.
Although her attacking Kaido’s crew has already been telegraphed since the start. Kaido even called her out when she started getting obvious about the fact that she will betray Kaido. She wants to be Pirate King after all.
So her learning that a town that fed her delicious food was burned to the ground by Kaido’s men will obviously make her mad. This is just a good excuse to start weakening Kaido’s forces. Although I don’t think it will last.
She punched Page One because of Gluttony, fundamentally. She’s only grateful to the town because they gave her food. So they won her favor. Kaido and Orochi in turn starve the people.
Thats the difference in how they rule. Whole Cake Island has gluttony. Wano has starvation. Kaido and Big Mom can never truly coexist.
