Baby monster is the most talented female girl group YG has ever made. Each one of these girls is amazing. No weak links in this group, no one just placed here for visuals only. The fact BM girls can sing STIM all in English is a big plus and they did it very well in English while Batter Up was both Korean and English. Song is in English because YG's target audience is global. Why even sing in korean when the South Koreans don't want to support YG. It's a shame that the koreans don't want to support their local company. All they do is complain about everything. The phrase "k-pop should first capture the Korean audiences" sounded outdated in present day. It could have been said but never too serious on it. K-pop culture spread out worldwide and was once South Korea's softpower promotional policy, and nowaday it's well known for their specific identity. The song that has either full Korean / Korean-English or full English lyrics aren't important for global perception becuase there always are KPOP stamped for each artist from Korea mutually. In my personal opinion, the songs release by k-pop artists should have majorly been Korean lyrics, but allow other language(s) mixing within them, too. And please be open mind, there could be some other language songs in the album for marketing reason as well.
Not really. You need to chart well, to sell well, to create a good image in Korea. Even BTS that had high numbers overseas, that number was most youtube, they just became freaking huge when they got popular both in Korean and in the West. Same with Blackpink.

YG target the international fan because Korean fans don't really support non korean idols. One good example was Lisa of Blackpink. Other members got awards and supports in Korea but Lisa won an international award only at MTV and none from Korea.
I'm not Korean but I agree with these guys, they should sing in Korean or mostly Korean for the first few songs. One of the reasons why people like K-pop is because of culture, it sounds different. Song is in English because YG's target audience is global. Why even sing in korean when the South Koreans don't want to support YG. It's a shame that the koreans don't want to support their local company. All they do is complain about everything. Quote from HYBE's Bang Si Hyuk "...I often say that we need to remove the 'K' from K-pop. K-pop now needs to meet a broader consumer base in a wider market." What do you say to that? Is he being ambitious or is he implying that South Korea needs the global market for their artists? The local awards are nothing, he's going for the big ones like Billboard and Grammys. You both should also know that South Korea is so saturated with girl groups and boy groups that each group would have to carve out niche for themselves to survive in the K-pop world.

K-pop culture spread out worldwide and was once South Korea's softpower promotional policy, and nowaday it's well known for their specific identity.
The song that has either full Korean / Korean-English or full English lyrics aren't important for global perception becuase there always are KPOP stamped for each artist from Korea mutually.
In my personal opinion, the songs release by k-pop artists should have majorly been Korean lyrics, but allow other language(s) mixing within them, too. And please be open mind, there could be some other language songs in the album for marketing reason as well.
Not really. You need to chart well, to sell well, to create a good image in Korea. Even BTS that had high numbers overseas, that number was most youtube, they just became freaking huge when they got popular both in Korean and in the West. Same with Blackpink.
all groups want to be famous in Korea even if they are popular outside of the country. all longstanding groups with big careers try to build a following in Korea first. mind you its not like this song is performing well internationally either

I'm not Korean but I agree with these guys, they should sing in Korean or mostly Korean for the first few songs. One of the reasons why people like K-pop is because of culture, it sounds different. Sometimes I think K-Pop is losing its roots because of so much English. I like how the Korean language sounds when it's sung.
