I bought my 1754 from millers a few months ago. Great boat and amazing service
Nice I think the owners changed if I am not mistaken since I purchased it from them. Have fun on it!
If you guys are going to continue to stand up, which isn't uncommon, please up that kill switch to yourself. I actually run 2 mud boats 16x44 go-devil and a 17x54 Excel F4 with a 4500 Black Death, I've been guiding for about 12 and take it from me I'm 43 years old, and you don't want to fall out in that cold water and have to chase a boat down. But congratulations beautiful boat!
If you watched the video I stopped after 10 seconds of take off and put it on, then the next shot is of my dad with him using wearing it as well. Trust me I had it on just not in the first 10 seconds...
@SpearingWithSlurpey I did notice, well done sir
Nice! Welcome to the gatortail club! See you on the river
Thanks! Eventually our channels will cross paths in person on the water 😂
Beautiful setup, love the cat walks and what GT has done with the tiller handle!
thank you, yeah the newer tiller handle is much nicer than the big square block they previously had all one handed friendly.
dam thats a sweet set up
Gator Trax can build you a one of a kind boat w/.125 or .190 aluminium and any seating , live well, gun locker rod locker storage you want
not a fan of GatorTrax, why have a different brand boat when GatorTail makes a boat and the motor to match the boat?
Wet nice rig, very slick! What pushed you towards the pointed bow? Do you think there is more storage in the front hatch with the V? Im about to pull the trigger and order but I’m torn on that bow!
I take it in our bay some and it helps some chop I don’t think there’s more storage personally least I don’t notice
@@SpearingWithSlurpey Good deal, yeah I can see in some chop, working the trim and it helping a bit. Thanks for the input!
Nice rig you done good 👍🇺🇸
thank you!
Awesome boat, how much was this out the door, also how was your experience with miller’s, would you recommend them?
Yeah I would recommend them if you try to build it they were pretty helpful. I already talked to Kyle and Bubba at Gatortail multiple times to figure out what they could do. Rememeber they started as a custom boat dealer and will custom whatever you want it just cost $$$. But Ocala was fine to work with I am in Tallahassee so the drive was sorta annoying but it worked. They fianced me through Campus Credit Union.
Very nice!! Congrats!
Thanks man!
Hey man i am abut to purchase a gator tail with the same nat gear camo from Miller’s. I like that grey hydro turf how hard was it to keep clean? Did it stain bad? Thanks
It’s not hard to keep clean if you leave blood long it may leave a light brown stain other than that make sure to at least keep a boat cover over it I noticed after about 3 years now it started to be sun worn so just a top get an academy job boat cover something not overly expensive and protect it from the sun if you can.
Also the way the diamond grooves are sort of sucks when it comes to draining or washing dirt Bc they put mine sideways and dirt never could be flushed to the back well.
Awesome thanks man. It was supposed to be coming in with the Camo diamond print and i just didnt know how that would look. My buddy has the dark brown flooring and it looks pretty nice with that same paint job. I just want something that will look the best for as long as possible. We do some duck hunting and fishing here in Central Florida
You’ll be gucci 🤙🏽 amazing help on hot days I couldn’t see having another aluminum boat without that decking
@@SpearingWithSlurpey oh yea for sure all my buddies that have them swear by it
Need to join mud motor central, mud boat mafia on fb if you have any questions.. i gotta 2019 in the nat black one of the first ones Bubba and them. Now its time to drop some money and get that motor built
Yeah I've been on them already. What do you have on your boat currently?
Slurpey Outdoors i have a stage 2 40xd.. just got it built. I run around 36-37 i have a 1854 center console all open
@@Kaeganglynn Word, yeah I'll probably never do one of those I like keeping things pretty stock and unchanged its already a 9k motor enough has been spent on it lol.
Kaegan Glynn hey man I’m looking at buying a xd 40 on a center console, how fast would it run bone stock with just you in the boat? And what size boat is your center console?
@@NickBell93 Depends what "center console" you are wanting to put it on....Aluminum or fiberglass boat. For obvious reasons there's a major difference Fiberglass is heavier and I dont see many people putting surface drives on fiberglass boats besides micro skiffs with some smaller copperheads. But back to your main question...Bone stock on a 1754 Gatortail with a semi V I run about 33-34 with light gear, two people, and a dog. Solo more like 35 which I am never solo so speed wise has never been a beneficial factor to me and I don't like going super fast flat bottoms are still dangerous for sliding which I've had some close calls. But I take this boat everywhere I go lakes, rivers, springs, and now that the weather has been great Ive been taking it on the Gulf (Florida) and running about 10 miles off shore spearfishing sheephead and such. So stay tunned for future videos of me doing that. I will have a new go pro here shortly so some better footage is coming!
Question. You have two batteries, dies one run directly to the motor, and the other one connect to the switch in the boat?
There is one battery in the back that starts the motor and runs the switch pannel / everything connected to it. I have two deep cycles in the front for just the trolling motor I have on it now.
@@SpearingWithSlurpey okay. Sounds good. Thank you!
@@SpearingWithSlurpey so black wire from motor goes straight to battery, red wire from motor goes to back of main power switch? Then red wire leaving switch goes directly to battery?
Not sure what you’re asking. The motor wires go directly to the battery (red and black) then the switch panel that runs lights has its own wires that go to the battery as well.
@@SpearingWithSlurpey mine is a little different. It has like an all power kill switch. To basically kill the power from the battery without disconnecting wires.
Have much tiller torque? Recently purchased a 40XD and the torque is pre annoying compared to my previous MB
what do you mean by tiller torque? like its too hard to control as far as turning? What size MB did you have previously?
I previously had a copperhead 12hp and that thing was harder to control in my opinion.
Zach Warner I experienced pretty good tiller torque myself, just recently purchased an 1854 extreme modv the stock 2 blade was pretty bad I normally run 2 adults 2 kids. Haven't ran it by myself but maneuvering weight helped... also I put a new big blade on the back and it made a ton of difference. Will be sending my stock 2 blade to baggy prop shop in Louisiana to get balanced polished and whatever he thinks it needs. But I read balanced and polished takes away some tiller torque and vibration
@@SpearingWithSlurpey the tiller handle is pushing towards me while I’m driving it ever since I’ve had it having to constantly push the handle away.
@@sethsaracoglu3360 do you have your boat balanced out with load? If everything is nearly middle of the boat or slightly left of the gas tank it shouldn’t have anything…if you’re a bigger guy get more weight to the opposite side to balance. It’s doing that because the boat it self is digging to one side the motor is doing nothing to cause that it’s just following the pull of the boat.
@@SpearingWithSlurpey yea I'm still tinkering with the weight. It's not as bad as it first was when I took it out. It was damn near a work out to control at first! After the prop swap I noticed a difference with the tiller torque without changing weight distribution. Also the tiller torque damn near goes away in shallow water compared to deep water. But I'm impressed 4 people (estimated 700lbs) full tank of gas (13 gal) fishing load, full rtic 65. She got right up on plane and we were bouncing 28-29
The new owners have destroyed Miller’s. I will never go back to them for anything once I get my boat.
Must have happened recently after Covid they did seem pretty awesome in 2020. they always answered the phone and assisted. Sad to hear.
@@SpearingWithSlurpey yeah the new owners started January 2022. I had to call three times last week just to get an update on my gatortail
@@nathantribble7599 Wow yea thats terrible service thats not good business.
I am looking at one almost like that
How thick is the aluminum
How is it on your ears? I want one for the trees but dont need the noise.
They're still pretty loud and mine is stock. My parents don't typically like the noise but I ahve headphones for people who don't want to hear it. Its typically more loud in the back obviously for who is driving. I almost never wear any protection unless I am doing a longer run like when I go spearfishing off it.
Yeah and my only other option is a 60/40 Marc jet. Pros and cons, pros and cons.
Spear fishing! You brave and I'm a chicken lol
@@TheAcfallejoseph haha Yah look at a few of my videos I have done recently. I just got a new mask with a go pro attachment on it so the videos will get better here in coming weeks. But I've had some grouper shots out of my gatortail. One week I had a tiger come in on me but luckily I was out of the water already haha.
@@SpearingWithSlurpey hollllly crap! I will watch
How long did it take gator tail to build it? Just ordered a custom through miller’s as well
all depends on GatorTails work load. I ordered mine in like Nov / Dec of 2019 and it came mid January 2020. I've seen them backed up for 6 months but I think they're avg about 3 months.
I ordered mine in April and I'm picking it up this week to give you a time frame!
@@sethsaracoglu3360 thats not bad! thats sorta like what mine was then I hope the cost of the boat wasn't high with all the materials being jacked up. Would love to see which design you got!
How long is the boat when on the trailer from one end to the other?
dont own it anymore but it was probably 19
What’s the grab bar you are running and how much money does it cost.
its built by gator tail
@@SpearingWithSlurpey do you know any good options that are cheap and just like the one on your boat.
If you have a metal fabrication guy near you they can weld a nice aluminum one probably. I think gator trax sells some you can buy. You can also just contact Gatortail and they may be able to ship you one but you’ll still need to figure out how to mount it which may still take a welder
Engine energizer horse....
👍👍👍
😀
You got to ask, mine has two, because I asked. Special order, custom made.
confused
@@SpearingWithSlurpey I ordered mine with two rod boxes, full length rails, a mid-boat pedestal insert, full bench across back. Also 1/8” aluminum hull.
I asked for rod racks under the cat walks and their video even says comes with welded rod racks under and they didn’t do it. I custom ordered mine as well they just didn’t fulfill everything I asked to. Which is fine they sent me the rack I rigged it myself which I have another video of. My color was the 2nd nat black they made.
Is that the standard deck or extended deck?
Standard deck I think the extended is prob too big but that’s me
Trim it up more in open water
Genial saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Chile
Hola me no speaké espanole but me drinkè cerveza 🍺
Did teal leave you a lil present in your boat LOL!! Nice rig bro!!!
haha noooo i think what you see is a leaf I had it parked under my huge oak tree.
How much was it?
around 24,000
Who built that for you?
GOING PLACES this is a Gator Tail boat they’re out of Loreauville,
Louisiana. But Millers boating did the order for me, I chose all the add on's this was customized to my personal preference and to be unique.
How fast?
33/34 depending on wait usually 32
How fast will it run?
avg about 32 with most loads
@@SpearingWithSlurpey dang! That’s a lot better than I was thinking
one of a kind? thats a cookie cutter GT boat.
if you're saying its lacking originality? It is far from lacking originality as it is custom. This is not a dealer sold GT boat. It was a custom design I had with the owner of GT boats who him himself said that it was a bad ass boat, a truly a unique design, and a fun build for them to do. It was the second boat they did Nat Black Camo as well. So if you're wanting an award for being the first negative person on my channel you won it.
That’s can’t be gator tail trailer
I didn't choose their trailer as it cost about $1500 more.
Not big of a trailer...
You need a trailer to haul a boat?
No just was wondering because the boat was hanging off the trailer
It’s not the rails that supports the bottom are under the back that extend off under the transom...
I build my trailer at work for my surface drive but never got it registered just put lights on it😂
