Stasis deck = no Jank deck with 4 Stasis = yes The old school Stasis deck from 1994 has a fairly clear card pool to use and it feels like you use almost none of it, which is why you lose to such a bad goblin deck.
This stasis deck is just so wrong, no wonder it doesn't work.. I am a Stasis player since forever. Time vault doesn't belong, neither does anything green or red. Bouncing your Stasis is sooo much better than destroying it. The Wincon has always been Black Vise, being that you're already running 4xHowling mine to fill your opponents hand... duh! They won't have mana to cast anything! Kismet was played when people just didn't know any better, and ran things like Sceptre which didn't give you the benefit of other better choices. Waiting till you opponents eot to bounce your own Stasis, just to replay it after your untap, (with a Vise or two on board) is the most brutal thing this deck can do. Not to mention the versatility of a bounce spell. Meaning, you have more options that just hitting your own Stasis. Stasis should be U/W, and nothing more. Everything else is just flashy and pointless. Sure Time Vault is amazing, and super expensive, but that doesn't make it the right card. If you have mana to even cast it, there's something better you could be playing to further your over all game plan. You need to streamline. Figure out what you want your deck to be doing and only play cards that specifically help you do that. You want a hand full of usefull cards from howling mine, and want your opponent to be crushed by the cards he draws and can't play under Stasis. Simple, yet very effective, and consistent. Specially when playing regular old Legacy, where 1cmc bounce spells are abundant, and no-mana- ounterspells(FoW, Daze, FoN)back up your game plan.
Interesting thoughts. I do think Black Vise is win more, but I may try it out. At best, seems like a losing race, but I could be wrong. I have done very well with this deck as is vs a wide variety of decks.
@@ELDsTimeVaultGames I'd be very interested in that footage. I know how hard It is to win games with stasis, as I've been building it for a very very long time. First thing I think when a new set is released is "what can make my Stasis deck better".The first time I look at any new card, the only thing in thinking is "Stasis". It's a personal problem. I have a list for Legacy that is an absolute beast, (in real life tournaments against tier one decks) in cities around me (population 1m+) I can no longer fly under the radar. I'm known as the Stasis guy, and everyone fucking hates me. I wouldn't have it any other way. A good portion of my wins come from people straight refusing to play. Those people usually can't win against the deck anyhow, and choose to forego the frustration. The list is U/W and is an absolute tank at assembling itself. It's 98% consistent due to 4xE tutor. The tutor finds Stasis or Howling mine, or Vise or any other piece needed. And NEVER suffers from the drawbacks as the deck uses the cards in hand as a resource. 4 E tutors in hand? No problem, find what you need and feed the rest to the deck. Howling mine keeps cards coming, and they get used to pay costs. 4xDaze 4xFow and now 4x Force of negation.. there just isn't anything you can do that cant be countered or that is effective. Sure the deck is boring and frustrating for my opponents.. but who gives a fuck. I don't play magic to make friends, obviously. The deck is mono U besides 4 white cards and artifacts. There are NO planes walkers and everything has a cmc of 3 or less, due to the limited mana it runs on. Stasis is under appreciated and undervalued because nobody wants to be "that" guy. Well, I am that guy, and make no appologies. If I had friends at the LGS's I play at, they could help me carry my winnings. But I don't, so I carry a big fucking bag.
Time vault is 100% belongs in stasis deck. Iveen been playing Stasis for along time my self and time vault is very powerful in stasis double the damage they take for 2 turns just to untap time vault? yes please lol that could easily be a win.
@@Darkside6080-q5d you’re missing the point, and aren’t looking at the big picture. Sure “that could easily be a win” as you say, but there isn’t room for cards like this, when you can get the exact same effect for one mana at instant speed. Also it’s not a blue card, and can’t be chucked to anything besides the City. Like I’ve said, it’s a cool card. Compared to other choices it’s an obvious cut if you ask me. I’d rather win, then have fun.
thank you for this awesome video.
I really like that red elemental blast in your deck to kill your own stasis, altough it didn't work out in g1, it's really cool to see! 👌
Timmy the Sorcerer pretty savage!
It’s really a very mid play. It should have been a Boomerang or another bounce.
Looking forward to playing in some old school events at ELDs one paper magic starts back up post-COVID
Stasis is my favorite MTG card.
