Romans 13:8-14 "Pay your debt of love"

  • 1. You can still take a loan from the bank for a car payment or house payment or college or church building payment. You’re ok to do that, it doesn’t teach that you can’t do that.
    2. Don’t owe taxes, as Christians we do have an obligation to the state.
    3. However if you’ve taken a loan and can’t pay it back in full, as a Christian we should at least make some sort of payment. To not make any payment at all would be to go against what Paul is saying here to owe no one anything.
    4. As a Christian we are not to try to escape the obligations and the debt that we have.
    5. As Christian we should all have good credit standing, and if we don’t that’s a poor witness.
    6. Some banks are reluctant to loan ministers and churches money because of some ministers who took loans from the bank and were reluctant to pay it back.
    7. As Christians, God wants us to be extremely diligent in our finances.
