    As an electrical engineering student, I mostly spend studying and researching on my I pad and use my MacBook when I code. To be honest, it is really productive. Definitely recommend if you can afford.

      Planning to major in electrical engineering. What type of coding do you do? Im a newbie. Do you just code anything you want, or is it stuff that is related to the field of electrical engineering? Right now im trying to get back to learning c++ but unsure of what type of programming to focus on or if I should just learn all the general concepts for now. Hope this makes sense thank you!

      @@LordCoeCoe Not for every major. Unless you're doing programming or maths, which requires specific programs or using LaTeX to type up equations and math symbols, you don't really need a laptop. Everything else like browsing the internet for fact finding can be done using an iPad. It can be harder to multitask but it can definitely be done on an iPad, and writing your notes by hand is pretty handy

      Well there is a reason. Most engeneers and math/physics students use PEN TABLETS as they are far mor superior to iPads as the underlying system is a Mac/Laptop/Linux. They handle all the engeneering programmes and maths formulas u will ever need. Ipads are definenitely not made for engeneering students in mind, rather for the creative sector.

    link for the ipad vs laptop video?

  • @zadrazil87
    @zadrazil87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    As a Science Student the most effective note taking gadget is a graphics tablet together with a laptop (it is also way cheaper).
    + the strong software of a laptop (not the limiting iOS)
    + ink capabilities superior to an iPad (iPad -> no shortcuts buttons nor buttons on the pen which makes your writing on an iPad about 5 - 10% slower than with a graphics tablet. Apple pencil 2 also requires to double tab on the only available button, which again is loss of time, thus not everyone uses the button)
    + cheaper than an iPad more value for your money
    + Science: Math formulas on an ipad are a hassle, also because programmes can't process them properly (need to draw them all by hand and can never really type them, or copy formulas as uneditable images, which is a no go).
    - For scientific protocols, essays, thesis, semiar assignments one has to switch to a laptop anyway due to the poor handling of mathematical formulas.
    - mathematical programms, physics applications, CAD, Matlab, Python (Coding) often not available on iPad or very buggy or with limited functionality.
    ~ Only iPad advantage: more lightweighted. Although the Ipad pro is actually as heavy as a laptop when combined with the magic keyboard (weights are used to stabilise the construction.
    For an engeneering/science student the ipad pro doesn't really provide any more useful features (besides the better pen) that justifies the extra price (compared to a normal iPad).
    Summary for student: do not let yourself get manipulated by the nice adds and influencers. Rather consider effectiveness and productivity.
    Only way to be more productive on an ipad is to buy a seperate Bluetooth keyboard (not the Apple one)
    One can do every task with a graphics tablet and a Laptop, but there a lot of tasks that can't be done with an iPad/iPad Pro.

      @erenjaeger1483 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your interesting take. Can you recommend a few products?
      Also wenn you say tablet with laptop, do you mean to buy 2 seperate things or a 2-in1 combination?

    • @zadrazil87
      @zadrazil87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erenjaeger1483 2in1 Tablets suffer from constant folding. Most detachable keyboard don't work with Bluetooth --> typing + stylus can't be used together, hence worst thing to buy. This becomes obvious when microsoft surface users can't compute formulas in Geogebra/Mathematica/matlab in Tablet mode as they lack the keyboard (virual keyboard works but again makes one just verrryyyyy slow). Same argument goes for ipads as well. There are numerous videos on youtube on how to overcome those iPad flaws.
      Also 1 handwritten page = 20 typed pages in terms of storage, which can be annoying when sharing study material.
      I have graduated and now work as a math and science teacher. Atm I mainly use the DecoLW or MW (Bluetooth) from XP-Pen and the DecoPro at home For my PC. But also like the Xp-Pen Deco 7W Huion 320M.
      Softwarewise mainly Xournal++, Word, OneNote and the Science programms.

      I what world is a laptop cheaper than the £320 ipad 10.2?

    • @zadrazil87
      @zadrazil87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nathan_law ipad 400 € + keyboard (100)+ pencil (100)= 600 € give or take. Also for university one will need a laptop/mac too especially for science, so on top one will have to buy a laptop for say 500€. All in all 1100 €.
      I only posess a laptop for 500 € and pen tablet for 60 € (including the battery free pen ;) ). It's the accessories apple makes its profit with. E.g. they earn nore with earpods than nvidea, netflix and amd together.
