    Easy explanation to why this happens is both front and rear diff are fully open. I believe with the New offroad setting on 2019 and onwards the diffs does lock to an extent.
    Just bought a 2018 CX-5 and noticed it, but it does the Job 👍

    Why didn't you turn off the traction control?

      @@tjrick Oh, I thought it did make a difference when turning TCS off. Idk if I should get a Mazda then since I do want to do light off road from time to time. But I look how these cars look and drive.

      @@sojiroseta8393 oh. I was purposely stopping on that hill and trying to start again to test the TSC. I could have easily climbed on the first try with or without THC by gaining a bit of momentum. The Mazda AWD system is awesome. The Subaru Crosstrek XV was my.first choice because of the rear independent suspension, but the fully loaded Crosstrek was way outside my budget.

    So according to this video basically awd does not work on this model?

    • @tjrick
      @tjrick 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does. You can see the rear wheel spinning. AwD means that all 4 tires can get power, not at the same time though. That would be 4x4.

    • @levanabrzeni
      @levanabrzeni 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tjrick not at the same time, but it needs to send power to those wheels that need traction at that moment. I am interested in buying CX 3 actually, but a bit dissapointed

    • @tjrick
      @tjrick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@levanabrzeni It does. Mazda became aware of this problem and fixed on the all 2019 models. 2019 models are coded that if a wheel goes in the air, it cuts power to that wheel in the air. This issue affected only AWD models up to 2018.

      I have the 2022 model. Traction control barely works. This vehicle is not made for this terrain. Period.

      @@bridges1971 it does fairly well though. I was stopping on purpose, but I could have easily done it on one try. No need to spend thousands more for a bigger 4x4.
