Sloppy Seconds: Kings of Junk Rock. They have a lot of fun tunes. These guys to me were like the nerds of punk when that was still the most uncool thing you could be. This kinda stuff morphed into Greenday.. although to their credit, and unlike Greenday, Sloppy never wrote a fucking ballad. Kinda sad I didnt get to reccomend these guys first.

Glad you're checking out the punk rock. I'm a punk rock musician from Las Vegas Nevada I was escape punk in the 80s and I've been into punk rock since I was a young teenager. It's good to see people cross genres and listen to different styles of music. Good choice picking sloppy seconds this band is amazing. I hope you dig them cheers from Vegas

This is Definitely in my top 10 all-time favorites. I knew these guys back in the day. Home grown Junk Rock from Indiana! Another one to try by them is Blackmail.

The mighty Danny Roadkill channeling Scotty Moore thru a Marshall truly shows the true roots of punk without being limited to A/D/E power chords (not that that's bad, either!).
There's no better 2-4 with just the right amount of spice added in than Steve

Sloppy Seconds are awesome. If you like them, check out The Vindictives. Their singer sounds very similar, and so does the band. I recommend Circles, Assembly Line, And the World Isn't Flat Anymore. :)

There is a ton of good punk that is very comedic. Try The Vandals My Girlfriends dead or I wanna be a homosexual by Screeching Weasel or Mojo Nixon’s Kill all lawyers or Reel Big Fish She’s got a girlfriend now (ska) or Bitching Camero by the dead milkmen.

One of the formulas to Punk Was to take a 60s Dale bubblegum rock song amp up the guitars and get as offensive as possible with the lyrics
Just like one of the formulas of metal was take a blues song, amp it up, make it fast, then throw in extra Satan.
