    Viewing another video by zhang, this was guerrilla filmmaking style. Boderling espionage. Good job dude. You had an exit plan. He post a video comparing his porcelain factory (smaller) using natural gas in place of coal. No toxic fumes from his factory. This video shows coal as their fuel. Also in other video a vegetable garden is shown, planted by employees at his factory. Implying they are given better considerations. Video person might not have even work for the larger plant. Put on work clothes and drink a redbull. Move it. Note: He got scolded (5:18) possible for trespassing by an old employee. Move faster.

    I do hope the kilns are converted to LPG or natural gas. It's unbelievable they're allowed to use coal today. Coal creates so much pollution. Anyone living down wind of any coal burning facility will suffer health issues as a result. So sad this isn't regulated better. This company makes huge profits. They should be required to use LPG or natural gas.
    Other than that is is nice to see very little automation. This facility has a lot of working hands in the entire process. Other such facilities is nearly all automation. Let's hope this facility continues employing so many by rejecting new automation.
    Cheers!

      it's china, the world's largest producers of pollution. it's so bad that even their farmlands' soil is badly polluted. you can't apply your western thinking to their culture *especially* when it comes to business, it's a square peg to their round hole. we're talking about a country whose factories have an acceptable fatality rate.
      the only reason they might change to anything other than coal is because quality coal had become very expensive if not rare there when china decided to play games with australia, who has excellent coal and would supply them. china's coal is junk, and their factories aren't set up to operate on that, they're set up for australian coal.
      the lack of good coal had caused massive blackouts and vast swaths of industry closures. i'm not sure if that's still going on today, but last year it was a very real deal. given the fragility of their infrastructure in this way -- and the chinese goverment's incompetence it tries to make up with in arrogance, both of which cause that disaster in the first place -- perhaps some factories might have decided to change gears and invest in new energy. if they did, it's purely for economic reasons.

    The automation is ridiculous. Mass production really reduces the quality of handmade pieces. They're nice bowls and plates at the end of the day, and i wouldn't feel bad to eat off of them. Good video. I can't help but feel bad for the workers. None of them can work at their own pace, and the repetition of the tasks has got to be maddening. I wouldn't be able to handle working in a place like this. Low pay, high pace repetition, and a disgusting environment would probably lead to an eventual suicide. It's an interesting process to watch, but i could hardly stand being in that place for 10 minutes. I couldn't imagine 12 hour days, and 60 hours a week.

    • @J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams.
      @J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Automation makes handmade pieces more valuable. These are not handmade pieces.
      As far as employees and the process, this is no different than any other manufacturing. No matter the product, the more you produce the more profits you earn. They're lucky to have a job here. Very little is automated in this facility compared to "high-end" European brands. The high-end brands are 90-95% fully automated. Those brands can afford automation with their premium prices. This here is inexpensive restaurant products. As well as piece without ornamentation going to other facilities to be rebranded and painted. Some high-end brands procure their pieces from Asia to be rebranded with patterned decals and hand painting in their facilities.
      Cheers!

      it's funny, and i mean no offense, but almost without fail when i see a video about some process, be it porcelain making or chocolate making or whatever, there's always someone from the middle east asking how to get started, they never have the first clue how to begin, and ask for advice from random YT people. i mean, you want to run a small factory, yet have no idea where to begin?
      my advice is do some research on how to start and run a business before worrying about how to make porcelain on this scale. maybe pick up porcelain or ceramic making as a hobby.
      bear in mind a facility like this is part of a complex worldwide distribution system that simply might not exist in your country. this particular factory obviously supplies mass-produced wares like you'd find in restaurants and relatively inexpensive dining sets. it goes somewhere else to have another company put a stamp on it, maybe some embellishments, and gets sold under a variety of name brands. a lot of products are like that, all made in one factory just with different brand names on it.
