I think your Smash Hit analysis is a little off. It gives more distance than Lithe, BECAUSE the Killer is stunned and depending on when the stun actually occurs you may or may not use up the extra 1 second speed boost buffer the perk has built in. Additionally if the Killer breaks the pallet after you activate the perk, you have made like 45 meters of distance just off of that. Most of the time the Killer will f off and drop you.
Dead hard because most ppl use it to bait a hit, but you should use it for distance to a window/pallet. Do it earlier though bc if you do it late, its basically baiting a hit
That Soul Guard/Unbreakable combo used to matter they patched it a while ago where perk order no longer matters. It always uses soulguard first, then it uses unbreakable. I tested it myself as of recent patch. Perk order is irrelevant.
I do remember asking the devs quite a long time ago, and they did state it didnt matter(when talking about M&A and Distressing, it used to matter back in the day but they later changed the formula so it didnt). They were technically right due to how the math works, but obviously they did have slot priority, since certain effects were triggered first. Still that didnt really matter too much untill Soul Guard was released(Unbreakable and No Mither dont really matter which one is used first, for example, and where perks like Third Seal and Sloppy also didnt matter which got applied first, since both would apply either way).

Fixated has actually saved my life a few times with the walk speed buff. I'll be behind a rock and the killer would circle it. The only reason i don't get spotted is from my speed staying just ahead of the killer and leaving no scratch marks.
Thank you for pointing out the one that Victor doesn't send information back to Charlotte on a survivor who is crouched. Don't forget that you can crouch-walk to get past the trails left by The Executioner without triggering them! Shrimp Cocktail! :D
I think Resilience should always be used with Selfcare so that survivors who aren’t in chase to 99 their health in order to do gens and healing faster And if the killer might be coming, they can just press the action for 1 second
My problem with sprint is that usually I let my exaustion 99% then do a gen,and when the killer comes yes I gain distance, but rarely I get it to work mid chase,I might try it again tho, seems like a fun perk to master with many beneffits.
Couple tips to help you since I used to use it every match. You want to always be exhausted with it. What I mean by this is if you are not in chase, don't bother trying to 99% it. Just always proc it to ge to an objective, or if you are doing a gen just waste it so you're exhausted again. While this seems counterproductive to getting it to work, 90% of the time you'll end up only partially exhausted once a chase starts so you can walk mid-chase to get it 99%. Outside of chase, you're just wasting time trying to 99% it in the chance that the killer comes for you or wasting time chasing the killer down. You can also time objectives, so you exhaust yourself 44 seconds before you finish a gen or time it on totems/unhooks. Hopefully that helps.
Also; for the love of god if you’re going to compulsively use selfcare, at LEAST run it with botany knowledge, because at least then you give a heal speed boost that can can help your team as well
I used to think that Smash Hit was strictly worse Lithe too, but that's because I was never a Lithe user. The thing about Lithe is it limits your fast vaults in chase, because Lither procs the first time you fast vault. Smash Hit actually allows you to continue vaulting shack window, for example, without having to worry about 99ing your Lithe. I still would rather use Lithe over Smash Hit, but I know some pretty good survivor mains who use Smash Hit as a less limiting Lithe.
I consider spine chill to be one of the strongest perks. It lets me focus entirely on the objective and not where the killer is. I only move when the perk is lit up for awhile and sometimes I still don’t move for awhile in order to get that boost
Ikr! Spinechill alleviates SO much pressure, and has also allowed me to destroy stealth killers. Ghostface people have fucked themselves over many times trying to stalk me. I always have to be 2-hit because Spinechill is just that amazing. Plus, I just love using the boost and then using Self Aware to let them think I ran away, only to walk back to the gen
Also, Spinechill can be used to counter many killers like Spirit, you can use it to tell if she's phasing, stealth killler, it lets you know that you're being stalked/ambushed, there are just so many uses for it that it more than justifies taking up a perk slot
i absolutely HATE playing against stealth killers, so i just always keep spine chill on, it also helps alot with dredge, if i see locks on lockers, i know who it is. Then if spine chill suddenly lights up and i hear him moving to a locker, i know hes coming for me so i take the fuck off xD
Something to add to fixated is it delays the start of a chase when getting chased off of an objective. Combine Fixated (Self-aware), Lightweight, Sprint Burst, Windows. When you are certain the killer is coming right at your gen, you can make some distance and for the 3 seconds the scratch marks are very visible you have made more distance to your preferred loop.
I use self care + med kit, urban evasion, spine chill, and either iron will or calm spirit. I have a lone-survivor, stealth build. However, when I'm feeling more altruistic or in a mood to play in a more co-op method, I'll use different builds. For example, I have a tracking build. Yes, general tracking. I can track the killer, gens, and my teammates with it.
Extra info for self care, if your gonna use it, use botany knowledge with it, it makes self care speed basically the same as default teammate healing and it makes teammate healing faster.
sprint burst also increases walking speed if you walk after activating it, which can act like a scratch mark remover for a few seconds allowing for a sneaky escape here and there

Okay, counterpoint to the lithe giving the same value. When smash hit goes off the killer is stunned and unable to make up the distance for most of your sprint. You get pure distance on the killer where as lithe you can not. Lithe also suffers from issues of stopping vaults at certain types of loops that are very powerful such as shack and most jungle gyms. Smash hit when your looping around a pale with a window. You can use that window the whole time and when your pulling the pallet the killer usually is close enough for the stun and you get the speed boost. Plus it's a whole second longer than lithe.
Or the killer can just respect all pallets and hit u pass them with something range like deathslinger and huntress or like 4 others fake pallets like doc or freddy and u are fked or enduring and spirit fury and u dont even get half the distance of lithe cus then the killer has to vault/walk/around
@@АндонВасилев-к8ю then if they keep respecting pallets you keep running, and they don’t catch you. Make them fully aware that you aren’t dropping that pallet. Then, when they think they can switch up, BAM! Pallet stun.
Quick suggestion, using smash hit and decisive strike would be an amazing combo. DS stuns the killer, and with smash hit your gone by the time the killer gets rid of the stun
you can also use fixated in another way. for example, when the killer is chasing you but you have some distance and they cant see you, you can run to the left, go back and walk to the right, making the killer think you actually went to the left due to the scratch marks, but you went the other way. when they realize that you're already long gone
I've tried to do this but the killeris always too close to me, a few times I did it ahead of time and it worked. Especially if you run up to a and around a locker they might search it for nothing.
Actually with Sprint Burst I remember you being able to time it just right so that your exhaustion is gone but you're sprinting while still having sprint burst active. you have to be really precise for this though
I guess I haven’t been using any of these perks wrong, however I’ve played this game for a few years, and some of these could have been incredibly helpful for me starting out! 🍚
Sprint burst You can just walk when the killer come to you (can use to buy time for your friends to run) and when killer is gonna hit you just use sprint burst
A really useful video. I played for more than 200 hours in this game, and despite that, I discovered many things I didn’t know from this video. Thank you! :)
I hate when I have a teammate with urban evasion cause every time I see them, they’re crouch walking from gen to gen... while the killer is chasing someone already on the other side of the map. I automatically assume anyone who runs this perk like this is a new player.
I use Self Care and Botany Knowledge, mainly because I solo queue and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been injured for over half the Trial because my teammates won’t heal me or I can’t find them because their hiding the entire time, it is Half my Build, but its so useful for my Playstyle
Though Smash-Hit can be pretty useless, I still use it so that I can vault windows and/or pre-thrown pallets so that I can still have my exhaustion to ‘dumb tech’
One time I had a Nea in my team that was crouching with urban invasion at the edge of the map for the whole game. She never did gens or unhooked anyone and we all died so she could escape through the hatch using a key.
Estaria genial si tradujeran tus videos a español, ya que dices muchas cosas interesantes que muchos TH-camrs hispanohablantes que suben DBD pasan por alto, yo con el inglés básico que me enseñaron puedo entenderte bien, buen video
One thing I never see talked about is that because selfcare is exactly half your healing speed, its actually more efficient to have your teammate do a gen while you selfcare than to have him heal you if you are with one teammate. So by the same logic, never heal unless you are group healing (or you need to get an unhook)
Brought iron will to a match once and I was able to literally run around the killer, like right behind him, and he had no idea I was there. Looked in the lockers and everything and I just kinda hid beside the wall
Kyto thank you so much! I just started playing dead by daylight again fully on pc after switching from console and this started to help me a lot, seeing big improvements throughout the long run. I can't thank you enough!
The thing with iron will, is that there is hitboxes. So if you blind the killer, then run past them, you and them might get stuck together, which they will notice, and which you will get hit, and if you are low, die.
The bit with smash hit it is indeed the worst exhaustion perk in the game and should have a bigger reward for managing this type of thing than the usual from sprint burst, only situation it is viable is against enduring spirit fury killers which is super rare to my knowledge
Thank you for not slandering urban evasion. The perk is very useful in avoiding the killer when it comes to gens that the killer keeps on checking, you can basically circle around a rock and he won't notice you if you are good at it, vaulting Windows to circle and disappear, and with Hag it's good as well. But I do agree, it's not useful if you're not near the killer. Ggs
Another tip for the Sprint burst 99'd. Just because you have a 99'd Sprint burst doesn't mean you have to keep running around until you find the killer, more time waste ;D
you forgot one of the most imporatant uses of urban evasion which is to dodge huntress hatches and gunslinger harpoons. when they start aiming you can quickly crouch walk around the corners of a loop. the killer can walk towards you while aiming and still not gain distance on you when you're crouching. again it's only really useful when they're aiming. but it is one of the most important parts about the perk. alternatively you can use it to stealth around corners to avoid detection, which it does worse than fixated, however it works on low height objects like small boulders or barrels, which fixated can't help you circle without being seen.
5:59 OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!! 🍣 legit im an Urban Evasion main, and how you said to use the perk? I USE IT! (im happy to be right!) but i still see people using it to travel around the map, oh so slowly T_T
There’s always someone in the corner doing self-care when I’m trying to heal them and ignore me then they get down because the killer noticed them in the corner when I could’ve healed them faster
@8:43 then there's me trying to use resilience to heal someone while they're cancelling it and trying to force heal me 15 times before they finally get it.
I actually enjoy self care+ botany+ desperate measures+ resilience. Because it allows you to heal yourself in only 14 seconds which is faster then someone else healing you
Perks - Self-Heal, Botany Knowledge, Desperate Measures, and Resilience. Item - Emergency Med-Kit (or for more charges First Aid-Kit) + Addons - Abdominal Dressings and Gel dressings. MAXIMUM HEALING SPEEDS. This is a main build for me since I have to heal everyone more often then not or even pick them up from being downed and if anything you can swap out resilience for Empathy to find everyone easier.
The fact that spine chill got nere triggers me so much. Jt was the perfect perk for beginners, and from one of the best it became one of the worst perks
I'm a self care user simply because there's times I need to heal but can't because my teammates won't heal me but that's only when I solo q, when I swf I dont rely on it. Self care is so much better when you use botany knowledge though. Also with that offensive Adrenaline play you were talking about, me and my friends actually did that several times. Saved our lives and allowed us to escape.
I started playing DbD last weekend, after watching it quite a bit and Epic Games putting it out for free, and this video did help me. I like Sprintburst and actually 3/4 of my matches I simply walked around the map, but realized how good it was to sprintburst at the start of the game, if there is no generator near me, then holding the exhaustion to a certain point. But I never thought about pretending not to have it, that will come in handy.
I love spinechill it’s a big must. Unless my cat starts turning red I will stay on a gen and most of the time they don’t come over there. It’s so good just to let you know if you’re safe or not
Urban invasion is OP against Huntress, Trickster and Nemesis. Also it comes in clutch in stealthy situations, when u dont wnat to run the killer and have opportunity to hide
I watched a Jane self care 5 times through Sloppy Butcher the other day. Against a Legion -_- legit almost 5 minutes of times wasted that they could have been doing gens instead of just getting re-injured and running to the corner of the map over and over.
Soul Guard + Unbreakable : False, (or, more accurately, outdated) perk precedence is not reliant on order of selection. Unfortunate, that section, but otherwise great tips
Another good combo is sprint burst and fixated and spine chill because you can loop the killer by tapping sprint and immediately start walking to confuse them
I run self-care and try to get some progress in the chase whilst I wait for the killer to finally process what they have to do, I prefer a heal off of med-kits and other survivors but I would definitely use it when no survivors are near as it may reduce the stress of the killer catching you off guard Also for resilience and your teammates don’t know you have it, hold the sprint button to force the others off of healing you so you can get that boost then tap yourself with the medkit, if done a few times some survivors may know what your doing
Honestly Sprint burst and Fixated. If it is clearly safe to, sprint to a gen but slightly before you get to it or getting off, walk. You are easier to get mid sprint and right after but it's why you walk the 10% of the way so it is harder to find perfectly where you are.
For me, I don't like sprint burst unless used to stay in a chase with the killer. I don't see the point in running a killer for an average amount of time just to lose them quickly. And I don't think running around the map holding a 99% sprint burst can always be managed. You'll find yourself not wanting to commit to gens throughout the game.

@@soloh8r no, Soul Guard and Unbreakable haven't worked like that for over a year, not since the PTB.
Thank you for the unbreakable and soul guard combo, I really didn't know that 🧐🍙
it's patched
@@Kumonosuu it doesn't work anymore?
The best build combo ever: No Mither + Self-Care
Though Smash-Hit can be pretty useless, I still use it so that I can vault windows and/or pre-thrown pallets so that I can still have my exhaustion to ‘dumb tech’
I love resilience! I always one type my health and do my objectives. And pairing it with iron will and yes spin chill with these is a good combo!
the vault speed build is so fun to use :D
One time I had a Nea in my team that was crouching with urban invasion at the edge of the map for the whole game. She never did gens or unhooked anyone and we all died so she could escape through the hatch using a key.
True survivor main
such a selfish survivor
Bro took survivor to a whole new level 0:32
Oof! I’ve been playing for years and didn’t realize I’m making so many mistakes 😅 Thanks for sharing! I hope to improve my gameplay 🍓
I did not know about number 9, but I watch PROBZZ everyday, so I knew about all the other ones. Great vid! 🍔
I wish all default Neas had to watch the Urban Evasion part before playing the game 🌮Nice vid, keep posting!
I do agree with most but some of these arent being used "incorrectly" but rather in a less optimal way
Estaria genial si tradujeran tus videos a español, ya que dices muchas cosas interesantes que muchos TH-camrs hispanohablantes que suben DBD pasan por alto, yo con el inglés básico que me enseñaron puedo entenderte bien, buen video
Urban evasion also helps against Pyramid Head, since you can actually maybe get through rites of torment lines in reasonable time.
The bit with smash hit it is indeed the worst exhaustion perk in the game and should have a bigger reward for managing this type of thing than the usual from sprint burst, only situation it is viable is against enduring spirit fury killers which is super rare to my knowledge
Ty for telling me about the perk order with soul guard. I didnt know the way you set your perks up even mattered!
Wow saved my life! New to the game and didn’t know sprint burst had an icon on the middle right. Thanks earned a sub 🙏
that’s for all exhaustion perks!! :)
you forgot one of the most imporatant uses of urban evasion which is to dodge huntress hatches and gunslinger harpoons. when they start aiming you can quickly crouch walk around the corners of a loop. the killer can walk towards you while aiming and still not gain distance on you when you're crouching. again it's only really useful when they're aiming. but it is one of the most important parts about the perk. alternatively you can use it to stealth around corners to avoid detection, which it does worse than fixated, however it works on low height objects like small boulders or barrels, which fixated can't help you circle without being seen.
urban evasion is so fun to use when you just crouch around a rock and the killer loses you and then y’all play ring around the rosie
5:59 OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!! 🍣
legit im an Urban Evasion main, and how you said to use the perk? I USE IT! (im happy to be right!) but i still see people using it to travel around the map, oh so slowly T_T
You teaching me how to actually use Sprint Burst was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. My games are now 100% more effective than before. 🥪
There’s always someone in the corner doing self-care when I’m trying to heal them and ignore me then they get down because the killer noticed them in the corner when I could’ve healed them faster
Sprint boost + Fixated it’s a good combo i think :0
“I can guarantee that you have been using at least one of these perks wrong”
Me who has never played the game: I don’t have such weakness
I love me some Urban Evasion paired with Distortion, Kindred, and Borrowed Time.
I'm like a thief in the night rescuing hooked teammates.
Never knew that the position of the perks matter. Great vid! 🍕
the sprint burst technique you explained is straight up just dead hard but only with the dash.
I never knew crouching worked against Victor. Very interesting. I love 99 my heal so I can use resilience. Still working on sprint burst though. 🥔
Also smash hit leaves you in animation even after you throw the pallet, then you gotta turn around and ran away. It’s so annoying
🍜 Nice. The Soul Guard + Unbreakable was an eye opener. Didn't realize sequence in build affected.
it’s actually not true anymore 😭
On the rare occasion I self care, I usually have Botany Knowledge and Resilience (and often a medkit) to help offset the time it takes to heal. 🍞
I would love to see an updated version of this video! 😄
This video was super helpful! Thanks a bunch it gave me a lot of ideas of how to improve my gameplay style 🌮🌮🌮
1:56 is this still a feature in 2024 or was it changed?
+1
I started playing DbD last weekend, after watching it quite a bit and Epic Games putting it out for free, and this video did help me. I like Sprintburst and actually 3/4 of my matches I simply walked around the map, but realized how good it was to sprintburst at the start of the game, if there is no generator near me, then holding the exhaustion to a certain point. But I never thought about pretending not to have it, that will come in handy.
Nice Vid man! Gotta teach those baby Dwights! :)
thank you!!
Spine chill getting nerfed makes me so sad, the only perk I genuinely enjoyed for the amount of information it gave you and the extra boost too 😢
I watched a Jane self care 5 times through Sloppy Butcher the other day. Against a Legion -_- legit almost 5 minutes of times wasted that they could have been doing gens instead of just getting re-injured and running to the corner of the map over and over.
That self care animation sped up looks like their rubbing their tummy😂
some very nice tricks in there, man! really like your videos! thanks alot :) 🌮
Self Care actually pairs well with Botany Knowledge for speed purposes.
Soul Guard + Unbreakable : False, (or, more accurately, outdated) perk precedence is not reliant on order of selection. Unfortunate, that section, but otherwise great tips
Another good combo is sprint burst and fixated and spine chill because you can loop the killer by tapping sprint and immediately start walking to confuse them
I run self-care and try to get some progress in the chase whilst I wait for the killer to finally process what they have to do, I prefer a heal off of med-kits and other survivors but I would definitely use it when no survivors are near as it may reduce the stress of the killer catching you off guard
Also for resilience and your teammates don’t know you have it, hold the sprint button to force the others off of healing you so you can get that boost then tap yourself with the medkit, if done a few times some survivors may know what your doing
Honestly Sprint burst and Fixated. If it is clearly safe to, sprint to a gen but slightly before you get to it or getting off, walk. You are easier to get mid sprint and right after but it's why you walk the 10% of the way so it is harder to find perfectly where you are.
The 99% healing advice example is really bad when playing against an oni try to remain at healthy state as much as you can
Urban Evasion should only be used with Fixated, Tenacity and Sprint Burst. It's the "i move fast in all modes of locomotion build".
My skill combination is sprint burst with decisive strike and deliverance, i hope you like it bro☺️
