This is an absolutely gorgeous machine. You wouldn’t even know it was from that decade. It’s futuristic looking, still contemporary, and functions better than any current machines.
What a beautiful pair of machines. Back when top loaders washed your clothes. I’ve been a front loader fan since 1980 when my ex partner gave me a slant front Westinghouse. Been using them ever since. Great water saver and living in Palm Springs, that’s important
I was amazed by how quickly it spun at high speeds before the drum was even emptied. Didn't give it much time to clear the water out, but it did! SO much better than a front loader.
That is because this is a solid tub machine which were common in early automatic washers. The wash tub has no holes in it except for one row right under the top rim, when the machine goes into spin it literally throws the entire tub of 10 gallons of water via centrifugal force up and out of the tub into the outer tub where it is slowly pumped down the drain.
@@diegoiunou Well isn't it obvious? Vintage washing machines are a heck of a lot more interesting than cars and there is nothing more boring to me than sports!
My Mothers firstvautomatic(GE) was delivered 3 days before I was born 1953 and finally replaced when I graduated 1971. They don’t make them like that anymore
Its safe and sound hooked up and running in the basement. I moved that set out of the kitchen about 8 years ago and have had a few other sets rotated in.
@@automaticwasher Ah! very nice. I'm hoping to get permission to bring in my 1984 Design2000. All it needs is a new timer (which I've since aquired) and a good cleanup. It's since gotten dirty again after being restored 2 years ago.
1957 fabulous design and result , machines were built to last 2024 orrible plastic desing and poor wash result.. Plastic is not ecoFriendly and machine last only few years Where is the progress ?! 😢
@@retrostudio5600 Nope this washer is 67 years old and working like it's brand new. My '57 Frigidaire washer isn't going to break down anytime soon. If it does I have enough original parts stored away to keep it running for the rest of my life, long after your modern machine's 21st century control boards and circuits have fried and died.
I never tire of Frigidaire pulsating washers, although this set is the most gorgeous I've ever seen.
Ah, the '58's got the boot.
They sure look nice and run very smooth and quiet. The custom made agitator parts look fantastic.
Wow, I am so naive. I thought that pulsator was mint original🤦🏾♂.

This is how a washer should wash!
That direct drive spin out and spin speed is something to behold! Also I’m stunned by their good looks. A winning combination
What a fabulous machine. Live the spin starting full of water and in a few seconds up to full speed. Amazing quality

What a classic pair. This is when they made quality appliances that lasted for years
I love this beutiful machine! Glad to see it still running❤❤❤❤❤
Great to see a new video from you. This is one of my favorites from your collection.

Why do you care so much about a washing machine? You are a man, shouldn't you be talking about cars and sports?

@@automaticwasher I always wondered how the water left so freaking fast in these. I honestly never knew that's how it worked.
Nice to see you again! What a nice machine
The cap and rings match the floor tiles - good show!
Beautiful. Really quiet machine too!

PLEASE show the control panel! I just heard of this version a few days ago in a magazine advertisement and I am dying to see the controls up close!
You can see images of the controls in this forum thread...

I bet it washes better than 90% of top loaders now. I'm looking forward to getting a speed queen when ours breaks.
Got years of laundry worth washing with this
DISGUSTENG 😂
All this and Charcoal Gray, too...seldom seen then or now
Beautiful set!! This is where the Westinghouse’s were. Do you know where I can order a boot for my ‘52 Westinghouse washer?
❤❤❤ Love These Machines
Beautiful machines
Appliances made from 1930 to 1980 were built best and last longer , but 1990 and 2000s things gotten cheaper and less reliable
Beautiful set!! What happened with the Westinghouse pair?

Wow😮
I can see why housewives sat on the washing machine

I would replace the whole Washer and Dryer to update with modern technology.
You'll have poorly rinsed clothes compared to this 1957 machine and it will take 3 times the amount of time to do a load of wash.
@@automaticwasher Nah bro, my Modern Washing Machine is still working to this day. This Vintage thing will break down any day.
