Now that the hook has been set, feel free to swim around and explore Angelina's over 200 uploads on youtube and tik tok in your new musical pond. If you stop, we may have to fillet you.
So, Angelina was literally toddling around the house singing to Whitney Houston at the ripe age of one and a half. I think it was her folks that tried to keep up and jog after Angelina. Her journey she's taking us on I feel is extremely Spiritual. Let me say that I think she's the chosen one. Quite literally.....chosen. We are very lucky to be able to come along on this ride with her.
So's my husband! He said he came completely unglued when he heard her rendition. He has Screamin' Jay Hawkins original and CCR's version, which he still rates his fave!
Another spell was cast by 9yo Angelina. Let’s analyze the video: 1st you see how small and cute she is. 2nd you see she is barefoot (story below) 3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song. 4th the band leader taking note of the changes. 5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it. 6th the old soul in her voice. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.
Watch her singing how great thou art. She has an incredible low range. Then watch her singing I who have nothing at age 6 in studio. She's better than most adult singers at 6. There's a recording on utube of her singing at 18 months old with a 🎤
Angelina made the decision to not wear shoes during her live performances when she was 6 years old! After I heard her say she won "Norway Got Talent" (NGT) during her interview with Heidi Klum on America's Got Talent, I was pleasantly surprised to see ALL 4 of the songs she performed on NGT are available on TH-cam. Here's a link to her NGT audition, when she was 7 years old, of Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday", which includes a VERY GOOD backstage introduction to Angelina's wish, her family, and the judge's comments even AFTER she leaves the stage. This contains English subtitles: th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html Because some people wonder if she's singing in English, and why some of the judges are crying (it IS a sad song), here are the lyrics as sung by Angelina: Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless Little white flowers will never awaken you Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you Angels have no thought of ever returning you Would they be angry if I thought of joining you? Gloomy Sunday Dreaming I was only dreaming I wake and I find you asleep In the deep of my heart, dear Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you My heart is telling you how much I wanted you Gloomy Sunday
It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! And Angelina is on video singing Whitney Houston at 1 1/2 yo (she has been her own engine for this pursuit)! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). Actually nine years and two months old. Actually she cultivated her parents. She entered school at four and was in after school program taking Piano, violin and flute. They tried to slow her down to no avail. She wanted more and more. By five she is speaking three languages, and studying music theory. Reading English at a high level. Reality is she is guiding her parents and has been for her entire life.
If you watch Norway’s Got Talent, which she won at 8 years old, her mom is behind the scenes and at a given point, begins wiping tears from her eyes. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve read that she said that she was crying because it was at that moment that she realized that Angelina wasn’t solely hers anymore, the youngster now also belonged to the people.
She has no boundaries: Gender, age, color, language, religion, occupation, wealth, musical preference, it doesn't matter who someone is. The first time they hear her sing whatever age she might be at when she recorded whatever they are listening to at the time, people become stunned. Vocally and artistically she is beyond comprehension. But, there's more to it than that. Her genuine soulfulness transforms into a sound of pure love when someone listens to her and their hearts cannot resist. In fact, a person's heart takes over their whole body when she is singing for them (goosebumps, tearing up (with an urge to cry) and finding it difficult to speak normally during or just after she sings and at the same time your head is wondering what in the world is going on? Will it change after you get to know her? Will you become less emotional when you listen to her sing? No. As soon as someone's heart hears just one note of Angelina's voice their heart takes over and their head takes a back seat. It's wonderful that you are reading the comments. Isn't it amazing the affect she has on people from all over the world? No one like her and I don't believe there was ever anyone like her.
Yeh she's different but she has been protected by her family and her fans, she has always arranged her music and she also writes music she even wrote a book and notice the no shoes there is a story behind that too God bless
From what I remember, her parents were apprehensive about her at first wanting to follow her dream. They wanted her to do the kid-thing at first, just be a regular kid. She had to talk her parents into letting her do Norway's Got Talent. They're very protective of her.....I would be, too.
🎉🎉 The First Video, 6 Years Old 🎉🎉 While we have instances of baby Angelina singing, this is the earliest home video we have access to, taken in her school's music room. Keep in mind that this was Angelina's first run-through of this song, I WHO HAVE NOTHING, by Ben E. King (1962). Ben is also known for songs such as STAND BY ME. There's some dialog at the end with English subtitles. th-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/w-d-xo.html
Heard you say on Embrace The Suck that you weren't into Jazz. Knew that as soon as you heard Angelina Jordan singing this that you'd begin to fall into the jazz warren.
We Angelina angels never tire of watching reactions to this remarkable performance. Angelina created a great arrangement and took control of the studio and musicians to deliver a sassy, powerful performance. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial
It’s not just her voice, this is HER arrangement of this song. Her parents did a great job protecting her from the entertainment industry that came knocking with contracts after her performance on NGT. Mom required her to finish school before launching her career. So much protection around her allowing her to blossom naturally. Check out her song “Shield” that she wrote to honor and give thanks for this protection. Props to you for delaying gratification in order to give us fresh reactions.
Thank you for this back story. I have enjoyed her voice for a long time, but there has been a nagging worry in the back of my mind about her age and how easy it would be to take advantage of her a la Judy Garland. Now I can just sit back and enjoy her, period.
Didn't take that long Daniel 😅 She's just that good that makes any person want to listen to more and to top that off, she is a very humble and caring person. She should be an example to all artists out there. And she should be the most popular person on the planet (but obviously for her own safety and protection from exposure when so young) that's why till now she is not worldly renowned. Which is a clever choice by her family. But at her current state, she'll soon lift off, I'd say by the end of this year she'll be heavily promoted and shared throughout the world. Loving your reactions 😅 same reactions I had some years ago. Keep on going 🙏🏻👍🏻
Her parents did not have to encourage. AJ knew what she wanted. Of course, her family (specifically her Grandma Mery, Uncle Mike, and mother Sara) allowed her to pursue her ambition with one caveat: school came first! While Republic Records signed her at age 14, they also agreed to wait before aggressively promoting her until she was done with school. Fast forward to now, she is 17 and 1/2, finished with school, and "Old Enough" to begin her career in earnest. Hence, the name of her recently released EP, curiously titled, "Old Enough".
With over 150 videos you may want to do a then and now comparison of songs she did at 8 and 12 or however that works out cuz you'll be at it for a year
🎉🎉 To help us help you in this, dare I say, life changing journey down the rabbit hole, could you start a play list so we can track the songs you've reacted to? Many of Angelina's dubbed "Angels," which you now number amongst, will glom on to your channel wanting an easy way to hear each of your AJ reactions.🎉🎉 In addition to her parents, Angelina's number 1 fan, and number 1 mentor, is Grandma Mery Zamani. Mery, herself, a child prodigy in art and poetry, is always at Angelina's side. Apart from taking an amazing wealth of home videos, Mery has also directed and/or produced several of Angelina's music videos. Mery was the one to create many of her ensembles, including the colorful attire Angelina performed "Bohemian Rhapsody" for her AGT-Champions audition in 2020.
AJ seems to have only a mother - apparently no dad - but she has very involved and loving grandmother and uncle. AJ was listening to grandmother’s jazz collection at a very very young age. Genius? Prodigy? Reincarnated musician? Perhaps all!?! I bet she ran her early language brain circuit during the same developmental stage as all children do. She would have learned harmony, rhythm and non verbal expression as if it were her mother tongue. I agree her family stood behind her as she found her way. Viva AJ!
To understand Angelina you need to know she is a protégé like her grandmother. She plays 4 instruments, speaks 4 languages,is way ahead at school, does her own arrangements, has written a book. All at a young age
She is a very good role model for kids. work for your dreams concentrate on it, FOCUS, but also enjoy life. If you want something very much, you can get it. Also manners; you can get more out of it, when you are friendly, patient and a bit humble. Yes, I saw her in a rehearsal video, the band did not as she liked, so she went over to the conductor smiling and in a friendly manner she explained exactly how she thought is should be played. OK at this moment she already was the nations treasure, but a friendly face and calm explanation goes a long way to get what you want. I experienced the same, I worked in security in my hometown Zoo for a few years.PEACE
Angelina has a wonderful supportive family. Her mother Sarah, her manager who is her Uncle Michael, her younger sister Juliette and her very supportive and inspirational Grandmother Mery who was a child prodigy herself in art.
Brudda, welcome to The Barefoot Princess 👣 world, she's the Truth, buckle up buttercup you're in for a ride of your life, love your reaction. Will subscribe 👍 you gonna love ❤️ it. Peace ✌️
As I rewatch your reaction and you were talking about her parents. I thought you should know that realising they had a prodigy on their hands and being an extremely intelligent family they realised the problem straight away. I do not think that when they eventually gave into her pleas to audition for Norways Got Talent( she had been asking from 3 years of age when she saw AGT and Simon Cowel on a trip to the US) that she would actually win. In early interviews it is clear Sara Astar is not thrilled...more thoughtful. Her family are the opposite of stage parents. Trying to give her the opportunities she needed whilst subtly applying the brakes. Her mother, after turning down label after label( including Disney) for years only agreed to sign her with Republic at 14 on the understanding she could not be pushed out till she graduated school. Angelina being Angelina graduated early. Hence the EP at 17....once it was clear who Angelina was, the family set themselves on a crash course learning about the music business. Not trusting anyone else to protect her after so many tales of misappropriated funds by managers. That's how her Uncle Michael became her manager.
She chose it and she arranged it for this performance... at 9. Hard to believe if not captured on video. You might find this one, another Screaming Jay Hawkins "cover" and very interesting and telling about her extraordinary talents - there used to be a version on YT with subtitles but unfortunately it has been taken down.... so unless you know Norwegian you miss a bit but it is still super-impressive: th-cam.com/video/80f3t3dmBbk/w-d-xo.html
Sir, do not forget, that at 9 years she already is a veteran. Starting practice age 3,5 doing this almost every day for hours, visiting the music academies of Oslo and later on LA, participating Norways got Talent 2014 at age 7 and winning when she was just 8 yo. Than her "wildest" video. this one. Age 10 saw her with great songs. Age 11 she had concerts in Asia, singing in Seoul Korea in front of 40,000+ people. Age 12 her most famous Concert in front of the Prime Minister of Norway, one of the songs was James Brown´s "It´a man´s world" brought her standing orvations. th-cam.com/video/HEm7tGrjIKk/w-d-xo.html For her voice: The good Lord gave her humility, high intelligence and a deep voice. Today we are quite sure that she will reach 4 octaves in her vocal range in a few years. You sir, enjoy life. Elmar from Germany
Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at the age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina sings in 5 languages, designs her own clothes, and has written a top-rated book called "Mellom to hjerter" (Between Two Hearts)"Norway's youngest published author" a story about why she wears no shoes during her performances, and like her name, she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's got talent when her audition for Billy Hollowday's Gloomy Sunday went viral and she got world press she started the competition at 7 years old and won at 8 years old. In her younger years before age 13, she was watched over by her mother (Sara) and her Uncle, a manager, who just wanted her to grow up normal. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 8years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Her mother and or her Grandmother never more than a breath away) Angelina has produced millions to environmental causes and children's causes around the world. Angelina has produced over 160 covers and 6 originals and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this"rabbit hole" not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own is just unbelievable. Angelina writes her own music and produces Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, and What is Life. Angelina's mother is Norwegian, and her father is from Sweeden. The " world-known artist'" grandmother (Mery Zamani) on her mother's side is from Iran, and her grandfather (recently deceased) is from Japan both grandparents are very involved with Angelina's growing up, and Angelina's song a million miles is about losing her grandfather and her original cut Shield is about the people that protected her and watched over her during her performances and travels. Although Angelina didn't win AGT Champions 2020 she was signed to Republic record label and is producing new music 7th Heaven, Million Miles, and Save the World she's on her way, after school, to a world market that I'm sure she'll dominate.
Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. The first thing she says is that she wants to start, followed by her saying she wants to start over, later she tells the pianist that the key is too low and that she wants to raise it a half-tone, then at the end of the song she changes the ending on the fly. The spoken language is Norwegian: th-cam.com/video/80f3t3dmBbk/w-d-xo.html
“Shout out to her parents.” Exactly. They, along with her grandmother Meri, herself an artist and poet child prodigy, realized very early AJ was a musical genius. They carefully nurtured her talent, finding excellent musicians like in this video to work with AJ. They documented and shared with her growing fan base these exquisite moments of her gift while protecting her from exploitation by the industry, many of whom tried in vain to sign her from the time she was 8. They signed with Republic Records when she was 14 on condition they not promote her till she finished high school. Now, at 17 and graduated high school, AJ is “Old Enough” to fly on her own with her recent EP release. Watch out world!
She actually started singing at the age of one 1 she actually started singing at the age of one 1 and a half years old. She loved listening to jazz and basically she just listened to it and she fell in love with it and she is what I call a child prodigy and she’s 17 now and it’s like an old soul singing out of this young woman there is no one specific genre that you can place her under. If you look back at her history, you will see the video of her at one or 1 1/2 years old singing.
Her parents didn’t particularly encourage but they definitely allowed for her to cultivate her own talent. She’s the driving force. She’s a bone fide genius.
The shoe thing started when she was somewhere with the mom and she saw a little girl who admired her shoes and if I’m not mistaken, the little girl had no shoes, so Angelina gave this child her shoes and she felt that no children should not have shoes. So that little girl said I will pray for your success in the future so in respect of the little girls prayer she’s performed with no shoes. A lot of her money has been donated to children fund and if I’m not mistaken, a lot of organizations for children, but if anybody knows more with any of my . A lot of her money has been donated to children fund and if I’m not mistaken, a lot of organizations for children, but if anybody knows more that my information is not accurately correct go back into her younger years videos and you will see the reason why she doesn’t wear shoes. You will also see how early it was when she started singing. You definitely want to see her performance in Norway’s got talent. This is a child prodigy at the music.❗🔥🔥
When you said that, if you could do so, you would go through ALL of Angelina's stuff in a week, I had to chuckle to myself. There are only 178 hours in a week. If you reacted to one song per hour, nonstop, 24 hours a day, for 7 days, you still would not have completed Angelina's complete repertoire from age 6 to presently age 17! LOL! Seriously, counting covers (many of them multiple times in various venues) plus all her originals thus far, she has something over 200!! That's in a 10 or 11 year span. Compare that to Elvis, age 19 to 42 (a 23-year span) in which he did a little over 700 songs (according to a Sirius XM Elvis Radio, channel 75, radio host from Graceland). Angelina is on an astronomical journey to far surpass even ELVIS' numbers by the time she is 42, God willing! To quote her from her "Diamond" song, she is a SUPERNOVA!
She's from the universe born in a supernova, look at her amazing new Song Diamond 💎 let us all shine bright 🌞 It's true we are all so proud of her releasing the best Newcomer EP Old enough 👍🫶 Back to black is her tribute to Amy but changing the lyrics to the light out of the darkness
As others have said, her parents protected her and supported her every step of the way, but it was her Grandma Mery who was a child prodigy herself as an artist and poet in Iran that guided her and was the driving force. She is one of Angelina's biggest supporters. She is in several of Angelina's videos, and also produced a fair amount of them. She is in this one at the 1:10 mark. Angelina speaks of her often. Mery did the illustrations for the book that Angelina wrote when she was nine, becoming Norway's youngest published author, when she wrote telling about why she is barefoot in all her public performances. Angelina worked with members of this band on several occasions, and they fondly reffered to her as "The Boss" because she knew what she wanted and how she wanted it done. This arrangement was all Angelina, and you can see the produce reading her last minute changes. He said in a later interview that she referred to these changes as "my wishes". OK, I am now a subscriber, and I look forward to MANY more Angelina reactions. (hers are the only reactions I watch)
Man you should see her power out "It's a Mans world" At 12years old she sings it with full band and blpws everybody away, it's very much worth it bro. Regards Mark from Australia
If there's a better performance by 9 year old out there,I wanna see it. I don't think there is,9 year old girls don't sing like that,because,9 year girls can't sing like that, not with that level of control and nuance. Angelina Jordan is on another level
I tend to gravitate towards music that touches my emotions and Angelina Jordan certain does that. I remember watching her audition on Norway Got Talent and I was like "Hold up wait a minute" My taste in music spans over too many genres to mention. But to quote Henk Poort "goede muziek is goede muziek". Thats it.
Agree 100%! Growing up with my Grandmother who loved singing and playing piano, she would play and I would sing. From classical to musicals, rock...if it's great music I love it. We shouldn't limit ourselves. Miss her....
I've already written it and I'll repeat it, one of the most difficult things is the review of a prodigy, in Angelina's case it is almost a desperate undertaking, after a few covers and originals one realizes that one has no more adjectives to describe her talent, for now excellent reaction, good life and music...Massimo
This is the most remarkable performance I've ever seen. It's really fun to watch. There isn't a second of this video where Angelina isn't doing something extremely sophisticated and complicated with her voice. It's almost unbelievable. By this point I already knew how good she was, having seen her NGT performances and some of her live things at age 8. But when I saw she was tackling this crazy-ass song by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, I couldn't imagine how someone so young had even heard of this song let alone want to perform it. Then she gave me this, probably the best version of it I've ever heard. The video is also brilliant, letting us watch this miracle child in all her glory, backed by a really good jazz band. It was at this point that I stopped considering her as a 'very talented child singer' but a brilliant artist. I've been watching her every day for 6 years since. It's great to see new people finally coming around to witness her brilliance. Keep on checking her out; there are almost 200 videos to choose from and almost every one is a masterpiece. You certainly won't regret it. 😎
Imagine further what it's like to be BOTH the daughter and the mother of a prodigy. Always in the background. Both receiving worldwide attention and accolades, yet living somewhat in their shadow without having that spark of genius to claim as your own. That's something I can't wrap my brain around.
This is the same age Angelina was when she wrote her book, “Between Two Hearts” and then have it be published. Angelina became the youngest Norwegian citizen to have accomplished this feat.
Seu talento e trabalho perserverante já dão a ela mais de 3 milhões de dólares. Seus valores morais e a estrutura familiar é o que faz dela uma jovem brilhante. Não há como não nutrir um amor maternal por Angelina. Bem vindo à toca do coelho! Obrigada por reagir a A J. Um beijo carinhoso, Lili - Brasil
She was inspired to do this rendition after hearing Screaming Jay Hawkins sing it much the same way. That's whose picture was on the candle she was holding at the start of the video before she started singing. That she could accomplish this at such a young age is so crazy.
Besides her parents, her grandmother was a big influence. She had a collection of old jazz and blues records that Angelina listened to starting at only a couple of years old. Billie Holiday was one of her favorites.
Yeah this was indeed a freaking amazing performance! Indeed only 9 here and singing as if she was in her 30’s. Angelina does so many incredible things with her voice in this song. I have heard it so many times and it never gets old. A bunch of people will direct you to her older work., like you were saying yourself Truth to tell, it is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to listen to. I would suggest however that a next reaction would be on two fresh originals: ‘Love don’t let me go’ and ‘Now I’m the Fool’. I’ll add links in a comment on this comment: the YT filter is sometimes a bit aggressive to links :-) The reason being that this will give you an idea about the direction she has chosen for herself: it is a retro pop with dashes of jazz, blues and soul and also more modern influences. It is a nice frame of reference when listening to her older stuff. More importantly, do whatever you feel like :-)
Recently Angelina released her new EP ‘Old Enough’ and it is brilliant. There are two songs with video’s to them: Love Don’t Let Me Go, th-cam.com/video/1U6WY_z8Vu8/w-d-xo.html and ‘Now I’m The Fool’ th-cam.com/video/1U6WY_z8Vu8/w-d-xo.html As I said in the comment above, my suggestion would be to listen to these two first giving you a frame of reference of where she is headed.
Regarding her original songs, she has released 11 so far. (When I say originals i don’t count songs written by others that she was asked to sing). Her first two originals Oslo and What Is Life were recorded when she was 11 and appear on her album It’s Magic. The single Shield was recorded at age 12, Million Miles at 14 (written after the passing of her grandfather) 7th Heaven at 15. And 3 weeks ago at 17 she released the 6 song EP old enough with all originals. When asked recently how many songs she has written, she said over 100. Her song ideas and lyrics come from her journals that she has been writing since she was a little girl. She had previously said that she wasn’t always ready to present her songs but now that she has graduated and ready to go full speed ahead with her career I’m sure her future releases will be mostly if not all originals. She still posts short covers on TikTok and Instagram and it wouldn’t surprise me if she still does some full covers occasionally. However I think she is probably focused now on presenting her own music. Her goal since she was a little girl was to be a “superstar” and sing for the world. That’s what she told the orphan girl and what she said on her Norway’s Got Talent backstage interviews. She has said that singing is like breathing for her.
Thanks, Arias! Despite her later beautiful stuff.. this remains one of my favorites at NINE yrs. old.. and reportedly her own arrangement... (see some of her live performances of jazz classics at age SEVEN to TEN...
Loved your reaction. The really incredible thing regarding her encounter with the orphan girl without shoes is that this happened when Angelina was only 6. I don’t think it was at that exact moment when she decided not to wear shoes while performing but probably not too long after because she was barefoot at age 7 at her audition performance on Norway’s Got Talent.
Good to hear that you want to do more of her younger stuff, though I would not recommend to do everything chronologically, as it would take forever... You'll find only a fraction of her younger age songs on her own two channels, as many are either TV recordings or fan recordings from concerts, or copies from her social media channels. To have easy access to most of her songs on TH-cam, I created many playlists. For example, my "Top 40 Percent" and "Best Of The Rest" playlists hold together about 250 videos, all reaction-worthy. I also have an A-Z index of her relevant performances, that has about 380 videos, splitted into 4 sublists. @@most2dot0new sub for you mate 🙏🏻 great playlists and very well put together. This is something I wanted to create for myself as a playlist with chronological order. I guess I have yours to save. Good job mate and thanks for the hard work 🙏🏻
Since Angelina’s catalogue contains around 200 original and cover songs it would take you weeks and months to get through all of them. Angelina’s parents have been all in on fostering and supporting Angelina’s love of singing. However, it is Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani that has been her greatest creative influence and muse. Nearly all of the videos of Angelina’s 6-14 year old performances were produced by grandma Mery. It was when then fourteen year old Angelina signed with Republic Records in August of 2020 that they produced her studio performances. Grandma, Mery is still involved in the production of her videos. For Example, Grandma, Mery was the executive producer of Angelina’s 2022 cover of Elvis Presley’s song, “Suspicious Minds”. Angelina still takes to Tic Tok to give us abbreviated covers of the songs she likes.
Welcome to the 🌍 of Angelina, the princess of 🎷azz music who does not wear shoes 🦶🦶 during her performance and for a very good reason...👑🗣🎙 ENJOY...
And this is HER own arrangement.
The band affectionately called Angelina
"The Boss".
Now that the hook has been set, feel free to swim around and explore Angelina's over 200 uploads on youtube and tik tok in your new musical pond. If you stop, we may have to fillet you.
It is Angelina passion and dream to sing but she has a wonderful family that backing her up at the same time guiding her thru.
Recommented: "What is life? written by 10 yo Angelina Jordan. Since than she wrote over 100 songs. YEPP!
I'm a Metalhead, bud, this girl had my full attention and respect, she is amazing! Thank you!
Same here.
I assume you've watched the Warning?
So's my husband! He said he came completely unglued when he heard her rendition. He has Screamin' Jay Hawkins original and CCR's version, which he still rates his fave!
Another spell was cast by 9yo Angelina.
Let’s analyze the video:
1st you see how small and cute she is.
2nd you see she is barefoot (story below)
3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song.
The bare feet was a 6 year old thing...great reaction
This song is a rite of passage for new Angelina fans 😆
Watch her singing how great thou art. She has an incredible low range. Then watch her singing I who have nothing at age 6 in studio. She's better than most adult singers at 6. There's a recording on utube of her singing at 18 months old with a 🎤
I believe Angelina was exposed to all music. She gravitated towards jazz.✌️😊
Can the world cope with so much talent?
This contains English subtitles: th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html
Because some people wonder if she's singing in English, and why some of the judges are crying (it IS a sad song), here are the lyrics as sung by Angelina:
Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday
Dreaming
I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep
In the deep of my heart, dear
Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you
Gloomy Sunday
Bows your mind for certain.
Okay… in for the journey. But… it’s gonna be hard to hold off listening to her newer stuff because it’s amazing.
Angelina 9 yo in her beast mode…absolutely phenomenal.
Ok, you are clearly down the rabbit hole. The only way back is to through it in its entirety. The Cheshire Cat is smiling at you.
From what I remember, her parents were apprehensive about her at first wanting to follow her dream. They wanted her to do the kid-thing at first, just be a regular kid. She had to talk her parents into letting her do Norway's Got Talent. They're very protective of her.....I would be, too.
What the hell, indeed- she resides in a different world than us mortals.
🎉🎉 The First Video, 6 Years Old 🎉🎉
While we have instances of baby Angelina singing, this is the earliest home video we have access to, taken in her school's music room.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money.
PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial
ah this is class her voice is unique to her , this is brilliant
It’s not just her voice, this is HER arrangement of this song.
Her parents did a great job protecting her from the entertainment industry that came knocking with contracts after her performance on NGT. Mom required her to finish school before launching her career. So much protection around her allowing her to blossom naturally. Check out her song “Shield” that she wrote to honor and give thanks for this protection.
Props to you for delaying gratification in order to give us fresh reactions.
Yes now Old enough to break through with her new EP Old enough 🔥
Thank you for this back story. I have enjoyed her voice for a long time, but there has been a nagging worry in the back of my mind about her age and how easy it would be to take advantage of her a la Judy Garland. Now I can just sit back and enjoy her, period.
Here is mum Sara after Angelina won NGT. th-cam.com/video/OP1ZUeCrbMI/w-d-xo.html
Her singing is only overshadowed by her humanitarianism! Thus the bare feet.
Keep on going 🙏🏻👍🏻
yes, regardless of her age, this is the best version of the 20 or so that I've heard.
With over 150 videos you may want to do a then and now comparison of songs she did at 8 and 12 or however that works out cuz you'll be at it for a year
If you have a talent like that, you're destined for greatness.
🎉🎉 To help us help you in this, dare I say, life changing journey down the rabbit hole, could you start a play list so we can track the songs you've reacted to? Many of Angelina's dubbed "Angels," which you now number amongst, will glom on to your channel wanting an easy way to hear each of your AJ reactions.🎉🎉
In addition to her parents, Angelina's number 1 fan, and number 1 mentor, is Grandma Mery Zamani.
At this age she had a short video with Anne Lindmo an interview about her shoes, and a song, it will show you her character.
By the way, her band calls her the Boss ❤
Is this wonderful, amazing, incredible, unreal, indescribable? No, she's just an absolutely magical 9 year old Angelina.💛🧡❤
With over 200 songs, theres no way you could watch her catalog in a week.😂❤️🔥🇨🇦
😂 hey ya never know
You Could do it in a week, but you wouldn't get much sleep!
Viva AJ!
Keep following her. It's worth the time, by far. Great reaction! Thanks!
Can't believe she turned me into a frog
That’s the barefoot, princess/the girl with 1000 voices. She will leave you speechless every time. Absolutely an angel sent from Heaven.
Proving Angelina is The GOAT. ❤😇💯❤️
Age 12 her most famous Concert in front of the Prime Minister of Norway, one of the songs was James Brown´s "It´a man´s world" brought her standing orvations.
th-cam.com/video/HEm7tGrjIKk/w-d-xo.html
For her voice: The good Lord gave her humility, high intelligence and a deep voice.
Was it necessary to repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat.....?????
“Shout out to her parents.”
Exactly.
Was it e everything we said it was? Great reaction, Arias!
Greetings from Poland😀😀😀😀😀
Subscribed for Angelina
She's from the universe born in a supernova, look at her amazing new Song Diamond 💎 let us all shine bright 🌞
It's true we are all so proud of her releasing the best Newcomer EP Old enough 👍🫶
Back to black is her tribute to Amy but changing the lyrics to the light out of the darkness
what a wonderful reaction. Told you, you're now officially, medically, an addict. Can't escape now, trust me, and I cannot be happier for you....
always fun to watch someone discovering angelina for the first time
As others have said, her parents protected her and supported her every step of the way, but it was her Grandma Mery who was a child prodigy herself as an artist and poet in Iran that guided her and was the driving force.
Its 8/15/23 and this is STILL the greatest thing I've ever seen. 🤯
Man you should see her power out "It's a Mans world" At 12years old she sings it with full band and blpws everybody away, it's very much worth it bro. Regards Mark from Australia
Welcome to next MEGA star! Angelina is now 17 and just released her EP! A masterpiece! You have just jumped in a rabbit hole! Congrats!
If there's a better performance by 9 year old out there,I wanna see it. I don't think there is,9 year old girls don't sing like that,because,9 year girls can't sing like that, not with that level of control and nuance. Angelina Jordan is on another level
Just a freaking, insanely, scary talented 9 yo litle girl. Try to pick 1 or 2 songs from every age.
An artist pure and simple. No big backgrounds, half naked outfits, dancing etc. Just pure talent
It was mainly her grandmother’s influence to love Jazz so much so her new EP is a
Her own genre Jazzy-pop.
She was about 4-5 years first time recording in a studio.
It’s evident she has the respect of her adult band
I tend to gravitate towards music that touches my emotions and Angelina Jordan certain does that. I remember watching her audition on Norway Got Talent and I was like "Hold up wait a minute"
My taste in music spans over too many genres to mention.
You should watch Norway Got Talent. You can watch all four songs at one time. She was seven. Love your reactions
That's our barefoot princess wild bill 🙂😍🤩👍
At 7 she won Norway's Got talent.
Nope. Age 8.
She is a seasoned performer, just happens to be a 9 y o seasoned performer
Wow wow what a voice fantastic
2 DOWN . . . 150 +/- 50 TO GO ❗ Arias, now you understand why I call this her ' SHOCK-n-AWE ' video 😁
I cannot imagine how challenging it is to parent a child prodigy like Angelina. :)
Um beijo carinhoso,
Lili - Brasil
This is Angelina at 9 years old. Just try to imagine what she is doing now at 17. Go ahead, I dare ya...
She was inspired to do this rendition after hearing Screaming Jay Hawkins sing it much the same way. That's whose picture was on the candle she was holding at the start of the video before she started singing. That she could accomplish this at such a young age is so crazy.
"What A Difference A Day Makes" at age 8 will astound you.
Angelina es un tesoro universal. Debemos cuidarla. Gracias por pasarla. Gracias, gracias, gracias. Saludos!!!!!
One of my absolute favourites is ‘Sing me to sleep’ (Alan Walker’!) 😊
Here are the links:

Thanks!!!
@@most2dot0new sub for you mate 🙏🏻 great playlists and very well put together. This is something I wanted to create for myself as a playlist with chronological order. I guess I have yours to save. Good job mate and thanks for the hard work 🙏🏻
@@TroyArchAngel Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! 🙂
The more you react to Angelina the more you realize that she is absolutely fearless to cover any of the past and current greatest artists.
