That one rat was huge!!! It seemed to blame the smaller one for its predicament. When I've found any in the trap, everyone was quiet so I wonder if they did this for hours and wore themselves out. I was a bit concerned the possum might get the door open enough they might get out. I guess they were more concerned about the possum than exiting but possums will kill (and eat) rats.
Neighbor caught a possum overnight in a squirrelinator. She latched open the top door in the morning and it took the possum all day to figure out that it was free to go.

I don't see why they have to fight they check in But can't check out sit tight and get along with each other because they both stuck if they don't kill each other

@@pauldunneska dude, not where I live, there's miles of open space. Most of the rats we trap are wild animals, not infestation pests. Even if that were true, single animal traps are available. There are also quick kill traps if you must. Forcing them to fight and be frightened isn't the most effective or kind way.

This is awful to see. A more humane option would be multiple single animal traps. To my mind the only purpose to trap a rat would be to relocate it.
Relocate it and make it someone else's problem? You have to kill rats.
