- The Esteros del Ibera wetlands in Argentina are home to astonishing numbers of freshwater rays, including the ocellated or spotted freshwater stingray (Potamotrygon motoro) and the rare short tailed stingray (Potamotrygon brachyura). Check out this video to see dozens of stingrays in a deep channel of the wetlands.

16c!!! Oh wow
Awesome video!!
Enjoyable as always and informative... had no idea that they could get so large.
Have you seen the ones from SE Asia? They make these giants seem small.
I was going to ask if freshwater stingrays were found on other continents but before I did I came to the comments and now I know to look, @@EdToml
Amazing video buddy, never seen them in the wild.
I used to keep a group as a public exhibit where I worked. They were amazing fish.
Stingrays, Wooo!!
Great video thanks for sharing 💗👍✌️💯
Thanks for watching

thank you!
very cool to see P. brachyura footage. I wish there were more available.
I would love to see Heliotrygon and paratrygon in the wild one day
too big, and soon to be on the endangered species list I think. Never seen Heliotrygon or Paratrygon in clear enough water, usually it is too sediment rich to see far.
@@belowwater oh yeah noice
Nice Vid son :)
thank you!
Jos👍🏻♥️
Cooooool plz retrun there! if the place still exists.
the Esteros del Ibera is a protected wetland, but of course the industrial soy bean farms are not good news.
can yo do a video on G. carapo?
As a fisherman, this would be a great stingray to catch, respectfully.
Amazing! What do they eat there to sustain such a large population? My perhaps naïve assumption is clams and shrimp, but I'm not seeing bits of clam shells in the video.
huge numbers of apple snails, there are also lots of snail kites there ( _Rostrhamus sociabilis_ )
@@belowwater That's good to know. Thank you!
interesting speices, and the 🌡 is way colder than what i would expect but i think wee keep alot of fish in the hobby to warm with a few speices.
yes, this is far from tropical - Florida winter weather so to say!
What's the name of the plant in the screen shot
_Eichhornia azurea_
Swimming with caiman no thanks, It would be interesting to see a few seconds of the airport, taxi service, meals and hotel.
these ones are not dangerous...
^5
I had no idea there were freshwater stingrays!
I friend of mine caught a 4ft saltwater stingray and he said it was good eating.
many species in the Amazon, some in Asia, one in Africa.
