When visiting my Aunt in July 1973, we went to the local dept store and she said to pick out any GI Joe Item I wanted. I already had the Headquarters and the ATV Mobile Vehicle, so I chose the helicopter. It survived all these years my many imaginative flights that Joe used to take. I could never get rid of it, too much sentimental value. I can tell you though when purchased new in 1973, the toy never came with the A team logo stickers. I too purchased the Cotswold decal set for my restoration, and I think they just added those as a bonus. I ended up putting a couple on the sides of the motor and they looked nice. Great video thanks for the tips!
I have acquired all of the AT vehicles in the last few years ... I have left mine in original played with shape ... Your restoration is amazing ... Go Joe !
That's super cool, they made some awesome vehicles back then, I may get a couple more over time myself, glad you enjoyed the restoration, got a new restoration video coming on vintage GI JOE soon.
Excellent videos. Many thanks. Picked up an Action Man helicopter recently so looking forward to working on it. My skids are in very bad shape and missing parts. What I'm hoping to do is mout the chopper on a pair of Pursuit Craft pontoons...so hopefully it will get there - and even float! 🤔🙂👍🏻
I used to have the same helicopter, but in black and with a 'grabber' in the front with which you could catch guys that looked like wrestlers. Long gone, because I sold all my toys to the neighbors' kids. Good trade, because I used the money for my first computer memory card. It still works today and computer collectors would pay a nice sum for it.
Excellent work, recently I got this helicopter in black, made by Estrela for Falcon the Brazilian version of GI Joe, they are amazing pieces for all collections
That does sound very cool, I know they made a black version for the adventure team too called the capture copter and it had pontoons and a claw at the front with an armored windscreen.
Great job. Those stickers are probably courtesy supplemental stickers. I've ordered decals before and sometimes they just throw in a few sure you could find a nice spot on the copter to advertise the Adventure Team, one would look nice on the rear just below that stripe. Great video
NO. Not courtesy supplemental stickers. The decals from Cotswold are made by Bobby Horne, under the name of AA Designs. They are professionally made UV resistant die cut decals. He makes reproduction decals for a number of Joe vehicles, including the ATV, space capsule, etc.
Can you please advise on how to separate the rotor at the seam to remove the wings? That would help with a restoration I am about to work on? If you could, thank you.
Well if your talking about the motor from the body its held on with 2 clips that go into the main body of the helicopter, if the blades than they just lift up and out.

Thanks very much, it was a fun project, glad you liked it:)
Looks excellent, I need to order some stickers. Can you recommend anything to use on the windshield for light scratches?
Mission accomplished, good work! ;) looks great bud! 10 out of 10!
HAHA Thanks very much, might have to use the Talking commander to start and finish off my project videos, thanks for your support:)
Hi, do you have a link to that exact pin vise?
I took a look at my ebay account and it does not go far enough back to locate the exact item, sorry.
When you get around to fixing the rotar blades, so that the black bits are at back of the direction they rotate, maybe you can repost this update...
Can you please advise on how to separate the rotor at the seam to remove the wings? That would help with a restoration I am about to work on?
