i hate the new update, sure buffing fire whirl for my main blaze is nice, but BUFFING TANGLE AND M TAILS??!! and the rarity ring change is just hell. like 55 starting rings at max? what the hell were they thinking during this update
If Super Shadow is a copy-and-paste, he would most likely be within top ten or fifteen because of the boost and Storm Cloud. Lightning is not good anyway and only is good when spammed, but a new projectile may make him within just top ten.

Hey Dumpster Fire, I feel like Infinite’s boost needs a rework. I don’t like his play-style very much, anymore. Infinite is supposed to be a powerful character, not a nuisance that spams attacks and still loses. I feel like they should just make it a normal boost that doesn’t take rings but travels a decent distance.
the fact that there were the sonics from the storybook series called my attention in this game, but after seeing what's their tier im thinking about dowloading this game or not...
the thing i liked about this game before, like in the early SSFB days, was that you could use any character you wanted without being in a disadvantage, but now especially after the new update, thats gone. i always mained characters i loved, being blaze omega knuckles and espio. but its been rough ladder climbling with them due to the supers, infinit, and now meph, but that starting ring change just went over the top, suddenly in order to be succesfull, i have to use the top tier characters, and honestly, the magic is just kinda gone. i doubt ill end up quiting, but it just kinda seems like the game devs are pushing me to stop, i understand 100% why you whould quit, and i just hope they fix some of these errors they made
Exactly! Same here. When the game first launched it was amazing, everything was balanced and each character had their own strengths and weaknesses. You actually could win by skill. Things started getting bad a few years later with the introduction of special characters. The first two waves of specials weren’t that broken. They really only had one annoying item. Anyways about two years ago they introduced all these crazy op/broken special characters. It only got worse from there with movie tails, movie super sonic, super sonic, and of course pre nerf infinite. It’s like they stopped caring about balancing. They most likely did this because they got greedy, and realized that people will pay to get those broken meta characters in order to win easily. Those characters can just spam their items (emp shield) or just boost to the end (super sonics), so you really can’t win by skill anymore sadly. It’s a spam battle now

@@omegamale8108 definitely, it’s a pain most times. Mainly because super sonic can get hit multiple times during the race yet he can still win by boosting past everyone at the end. And like you said the starting ring buff to special characters made that even worse. Infinite mostly sucks now though, but mephiles is extremely annoying since he can spam 3 attacks in a row and even more (up to 6) if he has his items slots full. The game used to be fun but now it’s mostly a pay to win fest. Since while skill does help it’s mostly negated by the absolutely broken items given to the special characters. I miss sonic runners it was fun but if they make a sequel to speed battle I hope they don’t ruin it like they did to this one
@RichMan3000 oh its worse than ever. They haven't fixed any of the old issues aside from the MT nerf. And they haven't made ANY quality of life improvements, the only events that happen are seasonals, supers, new characters and the swordies. And on top of that, they've been slapping the challenger rarity on characters who should be a challenger, like surge. Surge's addition pissed me off, and made loose it entirely. 1st of, her kit is a dumpster fire. Being tangle, but somehow stupider and more OP. Secondly, she was a challenger, for NO FUCKING REASON, when she so obviously fit in with the rest of the super rare villains. Finally, she was added alone, without kit. I was really hoping we were gonna get them both added for IDWs 5th Anni last year as a super rare duo. Similar to what they did for IDWs first Anni with tangle and whisper. But nope. Anyways, sorry for me venting about that, but yeah, summary: this game has somehow been made even fucking worse.
I think the reason why darkspine sonic slows down when he uses his attacks is because in sonic and the secret rings in the final boss, you build up the energy gauge and when you land hits on the boss, he uses all of his energy, then you build up his energy again. kinda, makes sense as someone who played the game back then
Ooh, didn't expect this to come out at all. Thought EAR would be more highly regarded, if only due to her possibly being able to catch opponents mid-jump/semi block certain dashpads and whatnot. And as for Mephiles, Stalking Shade tends to make races go to a screeching halt.
It's clear how to updates for today in SFSB is true bc they buffed Movie Tails items and that's what makes him the best and place him Z Tier which is the highest out of all of them

I think that finally applying a distinction between character types (the "rarer", the higher amount of rings you'll start with) puts the nail on the coffin, that and the fact that HL doesn't care about actually balancing the game, all they have to do is set their Plvl to 15, choose any character and give it max level, and set their trophy number to 6.3k, then play 10 matches and start addressing how obnoxiously is to play nowdays. I'm seriously thinking on quitting the game, it's not fun anymore. Hope you do well Garbage.
I say you should quit before December, as reversing a lot of these changes is just impossible within a month (unless they actually are fast and hard workers, which I doubt). I bet Sage getting added would just get everything spiraling too out of control to the point where even threads cannot stop the madness. But yeah, you should before December has you suffering in an endless mountain of coal again.
Accurate list but one problem, blaze is a VERY GOOD character and here’s why: her attacks deal huge damage and if you are in last place fire whirl has long range being able to reach opponents far ahead of you and doing good damage, and her boost is acceptable and does op damage, and the lava bomb is one of the best traps ever. Rare characters are so underrated (except tangle lol)
When I play Eggman, I usually get carried by Honor Guard Opponents just don't notice motobugs, step on them, their abilities get zapped and I win Boost isn't bad at all either I was Infinite once and I got to first with Phantom Dash but near finish line, an Eggman got past me with boost
My favorite characters Zeena and Zavok Zeena is my number 1 character her items Hit hard and shes fun to use. Zavok is a Full on Tank and his Fire-Ball attach hits hard too plus it goes far.
Darkspine should be the best, tangle is not the best because not so powerful but darkspine sonic attacks are more powerful and he should be the strongest
I love hearing your opinion but I have to strongly disagree with Darkspine Sonic being A tier, he’s closer to D or F. He has a nice boost but he’s not invincible while boosting, so hitting any object will easily take him out of his boost. Also if he hit an item as he initiates his boost he will lose it as well. Not to mention how long it takes him to activate his boost or how long it takes him to regain himself after being hurt. The character looks good but he’s almost useless.
I was upset too because the first nerf made his boost really bad. But after trying him out today, the fact that I have more starting rings now still balances things. When I boost, I'm likely to already have 100 rings or close. Now I'm able to get 2nd or 1st place with him consistently again.
@@OtherDude not really. You can't boost with him at all untill near the end of the track. His attacks are really awful. and his deadly replica is useless. It's like they just nerf infinite because of PTSD.
Mephiles is by far the most broken character in the game. His attacks not only take away your abilities but it can also launch attacks lightning tast, and It's no exaggeration. Every Mephikes player also spams the attacks so much even when they're very far ahead. Even his boost is annoying as it takes away your abilities like the other moves he has, making him have the most broken attacks in the game. Even his stats are an absolute power house. In addition, there's simply way too much Mephiles players making the spam eve more absurd. In my own ranking he's going in F tier, he's just that bad. Don't use him too much guys, he's extremely over powered and broken and will ruin any race he's in.
