This song makes you feel so alone but in the best way ever like only you matter its amazing i remeber listening to this on the train on the way to the city before singing in the subway stations just me and my pup good ol 2019 vibes
So i never comment on videos. I have done it for like 2 others....... this song however.,,,, My word has it been a long time since i have listened to a song that has risen just pure emotion in me... it left me conflicted but in a good way and i have been listening to it non stop. like good lord XD this song.. thats all i can say XD
I know exactly how you feel. I actually discovered Tash by accidently browsing through a bunch of song covers of various songs maybe around 2020. When I clicked on her bedroom recording of Jungle, which is hands down one of her most iconic & well received songs. Just seeing her getting lost into the music is so contageous & it certainly reflects on the audience if a performer is reallly putting 100% of their heart & soul into their art. At first I didn't know that she was famous & thought that this was just yet another underachieving hard working musician, who is toiling away on youtube, despite her serious talent. lol And that solo & crisp & aggressive guitar tone during Jungle was really speaking to me on a spiritual level. But as it is the case with most artists I discover, I often tend to check out 1 or 3 of their songs, & then listen to those for years to come without going any deeper. It even happens to bands I genuinely listened to for years but due to mood or having other things going on, completely disregard a new released album. For me music is in direct correlation on how we feel and a reflection of ourselves. And Im a firm believer that music finds you rather than you finding it. There is always a time and a place, when you are emotionally prepared to listen to something. And so recently I listened to her records in 1 go & I'm utterly amazed on how talented & amazing her music is. Each instrument is so well mixed & shines in every song. There is lots of breathing room for some songs due to clever spacing of the rhythmic pattern & chord progressions. Mere words simply couldn't describe her pure & spiritual music. The 2 songs that I have on repeat right now are Notion & Pink Moon. They are such deep & poetic & heavy songs that I simply cannot get enough of them. It's amazing how Tash can sing up to 5 different octaves. Which is the vocal range a singer has. From going very low & deep to glass shattering high. And when the acoustic solo came in, I was overwhelmed with melancholy & nostalgia but once the electric solo came in, I was totally mezmerized & left speechless. To me her guitar solos are very much reminiscent of Pink Floyd & Funkadelic. As a multi instrumentalist myself who also loves to learn as many instruments as I possibly can get my hands on, discovering Tash Sultana has given me a new appreciation & outlook on what it can sound like when you are one with yourself & spiritually connected to the universe, which causes the highest form of music. At least now I can spend the summer productively regarding pursuing art, by playing & learning all her songs completely by ear & maybe even try to emulate them by singing them too. But maybe dial it down 2 or 3 octaves, & add my own personal twist to them. The way she screams I DONT CARE never ceases to send shivers down my spine. It truly resonates with me, since I have always been someone who would listen to everyones problems among my family and friends & always try to put other peoples burden on my own shoulders & always thought that by being a good human being & being empathetic & caring that the fruits of my labor will be rewarded. But once you find out that some people just exploit you to serve their own needs, it really hits hard & it takes time to process all this. Even though I have a very sharp social consciousness & a good knowledge about behavioral psychology in human beings, good intentions & wanting the best possible outcome for people & prioritizing other peopls needs before your own, sometimes represses you to come to terms with reality & you shield yourself with a form of naivity. Holding on to the notion that family automatically means those people want only good things happen to you, when it sadly isn't always the case. Thank you Tash for contributing to my spiritual awakening via your breath taking music. While I won't let the belief that the good in people will always prevail & prosper get distorted by a few negative encounters, I will however start to see myself as the most important person in my life. Being selfish in that regard is simply essential since there is no one in this world that can save yourself but you. We truly are alone in this world. Sure we may have the fortune to encounter companions along the way & we can always talk about our problems with others, but we will always be truly alone with our own thoughts & psyche. And so we have to ensure that we practive self love & self preservation. DISCOVERING YOURSELF - LOSING YOURSELF - RE FINDING YOURSELF That what the song means to me. No matter how lost we may seem in this crazy world, it's always worth fighting for in finding yourself again & embrace hardships in your life, since they make all the good times that much more rewarding & special. It's always about perspective, whether you decide to turn something negative into something positive or just fall into dispair is up to you. But we have the power to decide whether we use those stones laid in our way to build a bridge with, or whether we stumble & fall on them. That's why I have decided to become a musician myself, since it is truly a cathartic experience, to embrace your demons & get to terms with your issues & rise above them by converting those things into beautiful art, which others can relate to & which can help them find a way out of difficult situations with your music. Sorry for by long worded rambling + it's super late & I'm tired but just had to praise a seriously underrated musician. Sometimes you just gotta let it out. And besides music, writing also helps me clear my mind & sometimes not even think about what I'm writing and just let it all out without a second thought. Hope you don't mind. lol And maybe, hopefully you may find solace and comfort in my words or views. Bless you Mary & everyone else who might be reading that.
Tash drove themselves into a state of psychosis using psychedelics. They fought years to get their mental health in check. I think this song speaks on it.
Some very rare artists are able to take you to a different plane of reality. Tash will be recognised as one of the best to ever do it one day
All of tash songs are mindblowing, but this song hits hard, so hard.
I couldn’t agree more. Just found her . Just found this song. I feel my whole body deeply resonating 💟

Find yourself, lose yourself, find yourself again.
