Like the only difference between the beta and international versions is that the beta didn't have the guitars, so when you blend them together you don't get something much different at all from the original. Dunno why this was done in the first place. Just seems kinda pointless.
It's a transitonal thing, you know like how the music in the Jak II(if you ever played it) goes? Like it starts with not that many instruments or ambience (the Beta), then it progresses on with more instruments(Japanese to Overseas).
There were many prototypes of it. There's even a one earlier than we got - we know that because it was used for the preview video of the game. That one had entierly different visuals for one level and a lot of changes in gameplay and level design, plus even gimmick changes. We also have prototype screenshots on the back of the European boxes of the game.
@@marcusmayo I personally like it the way it is. It would lose a lot of charm if it was just turned into your average X game (aka X4), there's something unique about the game feeling like this ultimate challenge of madness.

Listening to these back to back, I can honestly say that the Overseas version sounds the most complete, at least to me.
Please come back and give this another shot; it's a wonderful idea and I'd really love to hear a cleaner version :)
