Like, Pinkie has that fluffy, curly mane, so giving her naturally curly and full hair makes sense, and thus she just looks /right/ how the artist draws her. There's a lotta weird shit regarding folks making character gjinkas different skin tones and whatnot and imo (especially in the Sonic fandom), I feel it should simply be based on how the character already looks and what fits them best. Which is why I get absolutely baffled by people making, say, Knuckles into a random white dude, because those designs almost NEVER actually play into his actual design traits and often even entirely get rid of actual aspects of his design, like his quills which are implied to be like dreadlocks (in Sonic Prime the Captain Knuckles is literally named Dread and he has gold bands on his quills very much like real life bands that some wear in their hair, especially with braids and locks) and turning that hair into a weird mullet? (Yes, a mullet. Who the fuck sees Knuckles and thinks "he'd have a mullet"). I personally like to try to use whatever the closest natural skin tone is to the character's actual body color, OR I fuck around with designs that get the general "vibes" of the character best. It's one of those topics that can get really weird, especially since, in terms of character designing and design "norms", there's been a lotta racist shit thrown into the mix for many MANY years now. Think about how the "baseline" human anatomy practices that kids are taught are often of white men. It makes something a "norm", which is already bad enough, but it also leads to people having ideas like characters being depicted as poc being "just to be different" or "forced diversity", when the baseline SHOULDNT be the character being white in the first place! There shouldn't be an "instead of white, I'll make them a poc", it should be "hmm, this design (no matter the skin tone / ethnicity) fits the character best, so I think this is how they should look.
I really love how you didn’t give Fluttershy dyed hair. Now, I’m not bashing the artists that do. But I can imagine since how severe her social anxiety is, she probably doesn’t have the strength to gain attention if she dyed her hair.

The creator wanted the name and nickname to have the same initials as her pony name. These are the names that popped into her head first and she doesnt know anything about the actual Piper Perry thing(i know this cause its the pinned comment on the tiktok version of the video)
