i live behind a train station, all logistic or cargo train pass through this station, when the train pass this station, the ground and my home shaking, when i hear a blast or departing space ship, a train just pass through and making this ambient real.
I've honestly never felt like I was ACTUALLY in a space station with these ambience videos until now. Like... I woke up about halfway through and looked out my window to try to find a ship.

Loving the way these soundscapes are cafted. So many of the "spaceship ambience" recordings on YT are just a few low frequency hums and not much else. This is a real work of art - there's so much going on in the background (without being obstrusive or feeling forced), that I can totally engage with the sound and be completely immersed.

I just got back from a spaceport near the Cadian Gate and I could barely hear myself think over the sound of arc welders making improvised repairs, thousands of armored boots marching onto or out of transports, loudspeakers constantly blaring announcements, the roar of unimaginably powerful engines spooling up or down, and desperate cries of many wounded begging to be put out of their misery.
Ah, Minerva station currently orbiting Alioth in the Pan system,with the Pan system being our military system Alioth is a designated shipyard, building ships for the Terran federation and for repairing our capital ships, we currently are engineering a vossk Terran hybrid ship that has the toughness of a vossk ship and the handling of a Terran ship, no other details are known about it...And...I herd rumors of Alioth station has a khador drive to jump out if a hostile species tries to destroy the station.

The announcer reported 6 ships of 3rd class and 1 of 2nd class, so a regular check-up day for everyone. After the ships had landed, The few hundred colonists took a good breath of relief, they made it. The cafeteria was almost completely filled with biologists, scientists, reseachers, special order units and a good 3 dozen soldiers of the Outer Solar System Defence Force, ready to enjoy some good old coffee. End of weekly report n.12. -Nathan Marski, the 5th of march, 2338. Raptor Station of Titan.

see this is how you do it. There's a lot of these that have radio chatter but the radio chatter is constant and unending, rather than spaced out. You use proper spacing for all of your sound effects and I really appreciate it. Not every second needs to be filled with noise.
Was looking for an ambient space soundscape to put on top of some space themed music. Found this and thought it sounded nice, then the vocal recordings and random computer sound started... this is so much better then the other ones that just have the space noise. Love it!
This shit is my jam. I have really gotten into Elite Dangerous lately, and now when I go to bed at night this is what I put on. Slowly I am turning my game room into a mocked up cock pit, and the rest of my house is starting to feel like nothing more than the interior of my ship in the game. Yeah, we found them drifting in space on a broken down, barely running wreck. No one on it but them, they were barely alive when we found them. Poor human almost froze to death. I guess we can let them stay for now, we can always use an extra pair of hands.

On my planet (no war) it would be a huge cargo ship and the voices would mostly be female. We always assume women are the ones to go into space (Men can too of course, but you say astronaut or spaceship captain, people are likely to picture a woman) because the first aviation was invented by women centuries ago.

The banging and similar, some guy on shift trying to fix something.. Theres a whole story there. From one sound. Somewhere I heard, on PBS or something, a show about a guy who had a phobia that kept him from crossing the street. So he spent his entire life on one new York city block, downtown. He obtained a portable recorder, and spent years walking around the block, recording sounds, conversations, everything. It was fascinating.

You might -- MIGHT -- actually see it in your lifetime. It's just not likely. I believe that (if we can get it done before we as a species go extinct) if we can invent faster-than-light travel, that it's pretty much inevitable that we wind up colonizing other worlds, or at least living in space while we mine the valuables floating through the universe. We're too curious/greedy to stay here when there's stuff to discover/hoard out there, and we have a way of getting to it within our life time. Warp drives are actually theoretically possible, according to Miguel Alcubierre. You might -- MIGHT -- actually see it in your lifetime. It's just not likely. I believe that (if we can get it done before we as a species go extinct) if we can invent faster-than-light travel, that it's pretty much inevitable that we wind up colonizing other worlds, or at least living in space while we mine the valuables floating through the universe. We're too curious/greedy to stay here when there's stuff to discover/hoard out there, and we have a way of getting to it within our life time. Warp drives are actually theoretically possible, according to Miguel Alcubierre. I found this video on the subject:
