For those who might not know , Lagos served as Nigeria's capital from 1914 to 1991. However, due to its congestion and lack of proper planning , the government sought a new planned capital city, which led tp the selection of Abuja which also referred to as the Federal Capital Territory because of its the administrative capital city of Nigeria , In this video I would be visiting Abuja, Nigeria's capital city for the first time sharing my experience and first impression, I was shocked !

Fantastic job bro👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 You are good with your craft, love your narration and you captured Abuja city perfectly. Just know that I've been longing for you to visit the capital city. Its not like there aren't other planned cities around Nigeria, they are just mostly not intentional enough, or failed to adhere strictly to the masterplan. However, Abuja is the only "Purposeful" Planned cit with intentionality.
Thank you so much 😀
Hold on, Aba is coming
@@taharka3897yeah i believe in otti appointment
I swear Nigeria 🇳🇬 must be great again
So we all pray 🙏
My favorite city in Nigeria, I wish to visit one day,,,,much love from Kenya
Really … Abuja is waiting for you
@wairimumuhia2845 whenever you come, we will surely welcome you.

Always welcome ❤
I'll come visit Nigeria soon, especially Abuja and Lagos. Your cousin from South Africa.
World class African City 😊now I want to visit, this is the Africa they won't show you on national TV
Abuja looks better during the rainy season as all the harmattan is gone and the Green comes out
Definitely coming back
Africa is so nice!!❤❤
From hungary
Exactly.. wow 🤩 Thank you for watching
Must you talk
This is definitely our sign to visit Abuja 🎉🎉
11:56 😂😂😂😂 I choose Abuja o

lol a very important factor that led to that was because Lagos being the capital city gave Yorubas an upper hand in the Nigerian federation, so to be fair to every tribe a new capital city had to be made in a “central” location so every tribe don’t feel neglected
I will choose Abuja over and over again.
Lagos is overhyped
Wow.. Even though I stay in Abuja, I must say you did a good job in showcasing Abuja. You gave me a perspective that I have never seen before. And thank you for the shout out. I appreciate.
Thank you for everything 🙏🏾
The visuals are just stunning. Great work bro 👏 can't wait to see subsequent episodes
Thanks a ton!
This is a beautiful city, welldone to you for this wonderful coverage.
Abuja transport system will improve hopefully before middle of the year, CNG-Powered Buses had already been commissioned last week, they will start operations in like a month or 2 while the Abuja Light Rail will resume operation this month according to Wike
Abuja looks a bit heavenly there...makes me want to leave France. It's not that colourful here, nothing interests me at the moment but this looks like i could sit and just feel free in a surrounding with a great feel. Even the weather is strongly sweeping me iff my feet .❤
Yes there are spaces here i have seen but not to compare. What attracts me most here are the buildings and the Roman arts on the structures in the capital. But yes it's the feel. ❤
Abuja, Nigeria’s very own London… Abuja looks to beautiful and interesting
Thanks for taking us through your lens
My pleasure 😊
How i wish Lagos roads were as wide as the roads in Abuja , the structures are massive and futuristic especially that tall tower millennium towers and the world trade center building beauty, the city is so planned
Thank you for watching
Lagos is a fairly old city. Around the world cities that were already thriving urban centres during the 19th century are not particularly noted for their broad roads except for the major highways as auto traffic wasn't much of a burden then as it is today.
That's while Abj is a plan city
Well done my brother
Please but next time do Abuja video during raining season to capture the serenity of Abuja
You make a very good point !
But to be honest, i wonder how to get this idea to the minister of the FCT or even the staff of the FCTA!
In the dry season, water sprinklers can be employed to keep a lot of the greenery going!
Parks and landscaped areas can then remain lush throughout the year!
I am equally surprised that there is not even ONE water fountain operating in Abuja, not even the Unity fountain ⛲️ is working!
Such features , if utilised at our numerous roundabouts, can break the monotony of the dry seasons and soften the hard rock facade of Abuja!
Na so I see am !
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
What monotony of the dry season and what hard rock facade!?
@@Dele_Ps_Advice Well Abuja has both dry and wet season as you know, not to mention the harmattan winds which make the city even more arid!
Because Abuja is landlocked, it has no beaches.
The only significant body of water in the city is the man made Jabi lake which is an act of genius I might add.
But to promote even more greenery , some of our roundabouts could have water fountains in them!
At the very least, let the Unity Fountain ⛲️ , a landmark in Abuja function and work properly!
And some of the green intended public spaces can have a sprinkler that waters them all through the dry season !!
Because Abuja is already a well planned and mapped out city, such features would maintain it's greenness and keep the city beautiful all year round !
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
Insightful work❤
This beats Lagos by far in terms of a well structured city but Lagos is diverse in terms of people, opportunities, economy that why most people still prefer Lagos than Abuja . Lagos all the way , just like what that guy said at the Abuja is based on who you know connection while Lagos is your hands and brains, what you know
Abuja is also diverse, and if you stay in Abuja for a while, you won't want to return to Lagos.
Even Abuja is base on your hand and brain my dear,, I live here for 15 years
Just vive vasal
I can't even tell you that Abuja is more diverse than Lagos, that why English is the number one language in Abuja unlike Lagos were Yoruba is the number one
Which most people? Just say you.
@@salvationlivingston4871 Abuja is definitely more diverse. If you no Sabi English Abuja is not your place
Below is the definition of "planned city" for those struggling to understand the meaning and disturbing our ears about how their own city is also planned😅😂
"A planned community, planned city, planned town, or planned settlement is any community that was carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed on previously undeveloped land. This contrasts with settlements that evolve organically. "
Abuja is beautiful without being der I can see it❤
And people keep sayin Nigeria is a failed state. Yea right. I did not see any poverty around.
Buildings and roads makes unfailed state in your education ?😅😂
Black coconut 🥥 head!
Nigeria has never been a failed state. We just happened to have an epidemic of unpatriotic citizens who instead of trying to be a part of the solution to some of the problems facing the country would rather go out there and say all sorts of terrible things about their country.
@@rotimikayode1072facts
Do you think the capital city is the place to see the poverty 😂😂😂
Capital cities represents the weath, idea and the main section of the country. Poverty exist everywhere around the world bruh.@@truethots3088
Abuja is not the only planned city- Enugu, Port Harcourt (old part), Calabar and few others were planned.
Your title should be Nigerian planned capital built from scratch
That is what a planned city is
If you Google you'll see cities, like Washington, Islamabad, Abuja etc
Isn't built from scratch a planned city?
Wow,Abuja is beautiful.
Thank you, sir
Actually just thinking about it. You are right. It’s the only planned city. I love the way you narrated this video. You are so good
Glad you liked it!
Abuja is future African city to watch out
ABUJA IS OUR OWN CAPETOWN , LONDON, NEW YORK ,DUBAI .... BELIEVE IT OR NOT
☺️
Aowa thats reaching
When completed will be More than those cities, one of the reason for Abuja slow development is that they deliberately slow the development so as not to make a mistake
@@ominiekwe7241 yeah sure......we believe that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ominiekwe7241exactly
Welldone mate...you have made a beautiful narration. Come back in raining season please, you need to show the greenery properly.
As you have said, each district is enriched with all the amenities, hence, it's hard to see people crowded at a particularly place, also people find whatever they want in their districts, as a result, tje traffic is less on the roads.
Come to Abuja by June/July and enjoy the greenery
Abula, his WHO do you know, Lagos, what do you know. hmmm
I can never leave my Lagos 😂
☺️☺️🙏🏾 Lagos all the way
Please don't come, we don't need overpopulation. Infact Lagos is better than Abuja 😂😂😂
Beautiful town
It really is!
So why Nigeria still backing on Lagos when showing the world what Nigeria is..because Lagos has life. What I see here even if Abuja is organized and planned city. Not all Nigerians have cars and transportation here needed cars.
Every Nigerians must not have a car.
I believe that is leaves opportunity for well planned and properly invested business plans!
👊🏾🇳🇬
Most nigerians have cars and transportation is good
I lived in Abuja before we moved to Jos, I'm a Nigerian by the way
Abuja my city❤❤
Abuja is a nice city
Exactly
Bro
Please visit Enugu
Fingers crossed
I'm sorry, Abuja is not Nigeria's only planned city.
Wish they could plant trees on lagos roads.

Most expensive city in nigeria
Welcome to my city Abuja the nations capital ❤❤
Really Nice 😊
How can you say Abuja is the only planned city ? Most Cities in Nigeria are planned. Abuja is a unique city on its own.
A planned city is a city built from scratch for a purpose
@@Damination-yj6ti No ! A planned city is when infrastructures are deliberately mapped out. ( Master plan). Most major cities in Nigeria have master plans, implementing it a different subject.
@@Rhino6 that's what I'm telling you
A planned city is a term used for a city that was planned from inception
Most cities developed from towns to larger metropolitan areas
I'm not talking about weather there are other cities that are planned or not
@@Rhino6 Planned cities are Washington DC, Islamabad, Brasilia( which was also an inspiration source for ABUJA)etc
@@Rhino6 A planned community, planned city, planned town, or planned settlement is any community that was carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed on previously undeveloped land. This contrasts with settlements that evolve organically.
Population in Lagos is too much
Omo this citu empty, all of dem be introverts?
That's the purpose of the city
They try to avoid Lagos mistake
That's why the city is clean
That's the purpose of the city
They try to avoid Lagos mistake
That's why the city is clean
LOL 🤣😆 not really
It's never empty , its planned this way ,Abuja estates system makes it calm
That's the whole idea of the city. We don't need congestion. Whatever you want, you can get it where you live not having to travel a long distance.
I appreciate your work and the showcase of Abuja and Lagos. But note that Abuja is not the only planned city in Nigeria. This point I strongly disagree. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State is a well planned city in Nigeria.
Again, Akwa Ibom State is the most beautiful State in Nigeria. Again, Akwa Ibom State has the best Road network among States in Nigeria. Further, it's the cleanest State in Nigeria for 5 years running now. Also, you did show National Mosque and National Christian Center in Abuja, we also have unbeatable Akwa Ibom Christian Worship Centre - none of its kind in Africa.
May I honestly invite you to explore Akwa Ibom State. You will realise there is another outstanding Nigeria over here. By the time you are through with your exploration of Akwa Ibom State, you will be leaving with a new song.
Is it a competition?? We are talking about a city that was built from scratch based on a master plan and not one that grew organically or had planned additions.. and you are here busy crying 😅
@@truethots3088 There's nothing wrong with positive/healthy competition. It leads to overall societal development for the benefits of all. Uyo/Akwa Ibom State has approved well design Master Plan right after announcement of State Creation that every Administrator/Governor of the State follow . Just relocate to Akwa Ibom State and we will welcome you. Uyo is the best city to dwell in Nigeria.
@@truethots3088
There is nothing wrong with healthy positive/healthy competition because it leads to overall societal development for the good of us all. Relocate to Akwa Ibom State and we will welcome you and you will enjoy that outstanding well mapped out planned City I'm talking about. Come over and your story will be changed after a day or two stay in Uyo. Akwa Ibom is peace and joy.
Uyo doesn't compare to Abuja please!!
Uyo is nowhere near Abuja!
👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
Firstly, This is called "dangers of a one-sided story". Have you been to Abuja? If you haven't then you can't draw up conlcusions.
Secondly, Akwa Ibom isn't a planned city, it grew organically, in other words, Akwa Ibom is a modified city. Abuja on the other hand was non-existent, just like you contract an architect to design or plan an apartment for a piece of land, if you want to build one, that was how Abuja was made.
In the late eighties, Abuja was a Typical Village. The Gbagyi tribe, who are the original settlers, were settled by the Federal Gov. and they left the land allowing the Nigerian government to start construction of the proposed capital.
Everything you see in Abuja today was planned right from the inception. It didn't just happen as the city grows, it was in the masterplan, and the master plan isn't even complete, and that is why a lot of construction is still ongoing.
So yes, Abuja is the ONLY planned city in Nigeria. The other cities are modified.
Abuja is an elitist environment not natural, artificial construct that's why it is who you know to survive there
your heading is wrong sha. aba is also a planned city.
Was it built from scratch from a master plan?
@@truethots3088 yes, it’s actually the most planned city in Nigeria. The grids where wellplanned however the quality of the roads and buildings fell short.
Nigeria is still not developed a country only they are relying on the reconstruction of the Capital with three towers for more than 5-years are'nt you ashamed? Look at -Luanda - Nairobi-Addis ababa- Johannesburg-Abidjan- Harare- Dar es salaam- Kigali kinshasa- beacuse of the lack of equitable distribution of wealth to rural areas such as road infrastructure and community housing
You are depressed, you will die and Nigeria will still remain
😂😂😂😂😂We Nigerians don’t care about Skycrapers. Just like Paris and Most European Cities don’t have skyscrapers. How is the GDP of all the countries you mentioned compared to Nigeria???
Abuja is a government city. It's a political city. It was conceptualized as a government city.
Abuja is too dusty for my liking!
Dry season. It’s dusty season. Many of those places u see are green areas
What does your country have? Nothing…I beg go rest
@@sanstv4970 he is a ghanaian and a nuisance..ignore him ..their capital and best city accra can not relate
It's a natural occurrence, even if you bring the UK, Morocco or Canada to Nigeria's location in West Africa, they'd still get those dust due to the annual Harmattan season from December to March arising from the Sahara desert. Apart from North East and North Western Nigeria, we are generally below the Sahel region and also our climate is hot asides Plateau and Taraba states in the North as well which are much colder.
