Apparently, threatening Bardock is enough to awaken Gine's fighting ability. She was similar to Broly and Kale in that regard. Only Gine didn't go super saiyan. I wonder what trauma from her past resulted in this. I can't wait for the next part of this story.
She has a power very similar to a relative if hers. One that this relative may have inherited.

And that's why Gine is Goku's Mother and even Gohan's Grandmother for a Reason, they got most of their Potential straight from her,
Now, if only Goten would also do the same for showing his full true Potential like his Dad, Brother and Grandmother as well (instead of always relying on Gotenks all the Time).
So those power ups come from Grandma, Goku and Gohan got some pretty useful tricks from these two it seems
