If the water is really just too harsh & chemically, no amount of products will help your hair loss, unfortunately. You need to get a filtered shower head! I got mine from Amazon because I was experiencing the same thing after moving to a new house. Always wishing for more content to support your side hustle!
I have hard water where I live, and I got a shower filter. Now my scalp doesn't get itchy anymore. It might be placebo, but I feel like my hair looks a lot better
Stress is certainly a factor, but your diet could be different too. Hair loss is usually a hormonal or nutrient issue. I recommend taking a prenatal vitamin - I've taken them all throughout my teenage and adult years to help with hair growth. Feels silly buying them when you're not pregnant but they work!
Getting a satin pillowcase can do wonders for mitigating hair loss while you sleep, but also make sure to check your iron/ferritin/thyroid levels as they can also play a part in hairloss. Best of luck in your side hustle!
I start losing hair whenever my iron is low, it might be worth doing a checkup to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies, sorry you’re experiencing it, it’s so stressful when it happens!
Yeah hair falls out mainly from a vitamin deficiency and stress could be a factor too, so getting a good multivitamin can help just to make sure you are getting all your vitamins 🙌
Please please go see a dermatologist! I tried everything (shower heads, vitamins, western hair products, even washing with bottled water) and after living here for 1.5 years I it progressed so bad that started getting bald spots that were hard to cover. I saw a doctor and turns out I had sebderm and some pretty severe inflammation caused by the change of environment. Eight months after treatment and my hair is getting so full! I'm still getting new hairs !!!
Maybe try getting a shower head with a hard water filter and taking prenatal vitamins + eating a more varied diet. Or even talk to a doctor if youre concerned there might be something internal going haywire! And relax on using a bunch of different products to help your hair, go easy on it and maybe clean it less. I hope this issue gets fixed quick for you! I know stress makes me lose a ton of hair, which then makes me more stressed 😅
I found your channel while doing some Osaka trip research, and I'm so excited that you're posting new videos! 💗 I'm actually interested in hearing about other hair care things you try out and how effective they are. Also -- more shopping vlogs, please. :3 Love your videos!
i recently moved to japan too as an alt and i feel you T_T the water here is no joke! i love living here but it also sucks that as teachers we get paid so little and (at least in my case) are expected to do a bunch of work that the jtes dont want to LOL i love watching your content while im at home, but hopefully since this vlog youve been able to get some rest from all your work !!
I have been here a little over a month. The first week in my apartment I pulled a rat from my drain. Now my hair is long, like 35 inches, long, so naturally when I lose hair it is noticeable. But THAT was insane. I've been losing hair ever since. It is so much noticeably thinner that it is making me uncomfortable. :(
I’m the opposite, my hair is about 4A curly. I always had hair lost in the U.S. because we have more chemicals in our products, even our food, but my hair flourish in Japan. I do use higher priced products though. I’ve used prism as well as this shampoo/conditioner in yellow bottles. It could be because Japanese people’s hair are more thick or resilient my hair takes to it. You have to find the products that work with you, but seek higher quality which may or may not have less harsh chemicals. Honey is a good way to go! 👌🏽 Or organic products. There are organic brands around, I don’t remember the name, you’d have to search for it, but they’re usually in shopping centers. Also a shower filter.
Goodluck with the side hustle! Also, I would like you to know that your videos make my day, especially now during stressful times at my school life, it's really a nice and comforting experience to watch your videos!
I had same problem when I lived there. For me it wasn’t the water but the shampoo being too harsh. Japanese hair is very different and very strong. I changed to one that said stuff like it was biological (dunno) and I think it was French. Just picked up from a drug store. My hair still fell out but not as much. To actually get my hair growing back though I found prenatal vitamins worked for me like some others have commented.
Stress can do it, but this might be something else so please do get checked. Hair loss can also be a longer term effect from a previous covid infection, or a sign of central b12 deficiency. So, worth interrogating for sure. Take care
I feel you, my stress level has been really high since I moved to Japan too :( it made my hormones go crazy, I lost my period, I lose hair, it's just bad. idk what to do anymore. however, it's giving me some comfort to know that I'm not the only one feeling stressed in this country! hope things will get better for u!
Hii, your videos are so cute❤ Have you check your vitamin levels? I know it's not much of a thing in Japan, but my hair was falling like crazy, then I checked, and vitamin D was too low. Now, I don't lose as much hair as before 🎉
So happy to see your vlog! I follow you on insta and didnt know you had youtube.. I also suffered from stress hair loss for a couple of years! i only recently was able to get rid of my stressors and its taken four months for my hair to figure it out. Trying to figure out now what will help it bounce back 🥲 but anyways!! im cheering for you ❤❤
Hi, I love your videos, just the speed up voice this time was hard for me 😅 and yeah I also have hair loss, it got a bit better when I started taking iron, but it's still bad
Also as someone also struggling with their hair falling out, I really hope the products you picked up help you out! My bangs looks soooo wonky now that my hairline is getting more sparse UGH

I am European too but I use Korean shampoo and my hair has been thriving.

Not saying that the water isn’t the main cause but one habit to reduce shedding is brushing from the ends then your crown ❤
Any day I see you upload is a GREAT day 🩷 all my love!!
